Bergentrückung, then Your Best Friend, then Ghost dance, going into Alphys and the Amalgamation’s themes would probably sound super dope if done right. Otherwise the video is amazing.
Ironically enough, the theme played is smash's rendition of megalovania which does have have a part of asgore's theme, in this animation it even plays while asgore is absorbing the 6 human souls
That face sans makes right before asgore shows up just speaks to me like he's on a phone call with the "principal", saying something like "Huh... looks like the big man wants to have a little chat. Lucky you, eh?"

This is the best Sans mod I've seen. He does not get revived, does not gain power. Instead, he is helped by his fellow monsterkind. How a great game should end.
This is probably one of the best sort of sans fights out there. Although being the whole, "What if THIS happened in the genocide route instead?" kind of fangames, it somehow sticks out. Sans feels like his normal self instead of "GRRR!!! IMA GONNA KILL YOU!!!!!!" This feels like something toby fox would have done if he made the sans fight completely different.
To explain away how we permanently die in this game, and can't be able to respawn after our soul gets taken, I think it has something to do with the fact of willpower. It's heavily implied that the other humans could reset and load, yet they didn't bother coming back after facing against Asgore. I think after facing him so many times, they just lost the will to keep trying, and died permanently, with only their determined souls remaining. In the fangame's fight, we're up against not only Sans, but Asgore with the full intent of killing us, plus the 6 human souls powering him even more, as well as Napstablook and the Amalgamates who are immune to physical attacks. Combine them together with the additional help of Alphys and Flowey, a battle against them all equals to willpower greater then ours, and continuous fighting against them via resetting would only prove even more how impossible it is to do. The final image demonstrating our soul being taken to break the barrier can be seen in multiple ways with this knowledge. It could be the soul immediately losing the will to keep trying, becoming susceptible to being absorbed, or as an epilogue explaining how after multiple attempts at trying, the soul's will to keep trying stopped. Of course though, this is only a semi-serious fangame, and it was made mostly for the intention to be a fun conclusion to a time of making CYF mods. Ari and the many people who helped them out did a great job with this game, putting so much effort to making it feel like it could work as something canon to Undertale. Thanks for playing it and I can't wait to see more content!!!
Asgore uses the 6 human souls in this fight, so his power easily overrides your ability to respawn. The only reason you respawn in the Omega Flowey fight is because Flowey acts cocky, and brings you back to life just to have the joy of killing you again.
@@theonetruemilkman4894 Yeah totally. If we had to exclude everyone else from the fight, Asgore with the help of the souls would be too unfair in normal circumstances. In this battle he's actually giving his all, and the souls giving him more power could be considered as overkill.
@theonetruemilkman4894 the only time you override higher determination is against the God of hyper death But I always saw that as either 1. him bringing you back 2.so much determination in one spot that you can't die 3. Chara refusing to let you lose
I always believed that the true power of the 'Soul of Determination' is the ability to 'Beat'. No matter the odds or the situation, the soul will provide the capabilities for you to survive. Like in that time in the papyrus fight where you're able of overriding the blue soul effect and just extending the box. Or in the sans fight when you can attack twice or move your box till it reaches the fight button; Or even willing the mercy button back together in the Asgore fight. Following this theory, I like to believe that it still is applicable here. As you saw, it was a impossible fight. You couldn't beat that many at once. So the 'best' scenario for you, the player? Die. Just give up.
@@theonetruemilkman4894cool idea, but i personally think that wouldn't be the case, like, in RPGs the number 9 is often portrayed as the absolute, since all max stats can only reach like 99999, by reaching level 20 you kinda just, surpass that If it's only one level away from being able to erase an entire world with every person having determination, it certainly could be way stronger than portrayed in the game couldn't it? idk honestly
So Flowey tells Alphys and Asgore what is going on and Asgore aides in stopping Frisk crushing them and quickly breaking the barrier before they can reset. And Flowey choosing not to make the same mistake again and refusing to let you reset after he got the power back. Nice touch.
6:06 It would have been a lot better if there was a translucent Chara sprite standing next to Flowey here. So they can watch the sunset together as they promised.
@natsoy1786 Agreed. Chara grows alongside the player. So if the player chooses to be a mass murderer, Chara grows the same attitude. By the time of the Sans fight, having seen hundreds being killed, Chara definitely wasn’t helpable anymore.
@@Phantom17685 yes, but that's out of question, given Flowey has killed WAY more than Either of them, but he's right there, not hostile. Chara was awoken from Frisk's determination. Flowey has determination, remember? It could very well be possible, even if we couldn't see Chara.

Yep, if Alphys was more confident, hypothetically from sans being emotional and serious, a jarring change from what she normally experience from sans or Undyne inspiring Alphys in her dying moments to avenge her, she could allow the amalgamates to attack Frisk. They can't kill the amalgamates, so they have time to get asgore to absorb the damn souls already and banish that lil' mofo to the SHADOW REALM

It is by far one of the best fights I have ever seen. The attacks are not 99% spam all over the screen, Sans maintains his personality and is not a suicidal emo, and he is perfectly right that Asgore is infinitely superior to the player, no matter how genocidal he is, using the 6 souls to even destroy the interface . I also love that if it was not clear to you that you "lost" the game only gives you two options which is to see the surface, that the monsters that survived escaped and you can't do anything about it. Sans isn't some depressed guy who covers depression with jokes. He's a lazy troll who realises he actually has to do something if he wants the world to be saved
THIS RIGHT HERE IS WHAT I NEED. sans taking it serious but being unserious about it sometimes makes it accurate to his personality AND THE FACT ASGORE DID SOMETHING INSTEAD OF WAITING FOR THE PLAYER finally a fan game where the human dies and can't respawn

Every now and again, I'm reminded of how much I fnuking adore Undertale. I always know that I love it, but sometimes something will just HIT me, and remind me why I love it so much. This time, it was the shot at the end, with the survivors seeing the surface, and "it's raining somewhere else" playing. Something about it hit me. This was great, I haven't seen your other stuff, but if this is your sign off, I'll have to check the rest out. Thanks for this, and good luck with whatever you wish to do next. 👌
I think after you do enough genocide routes this should be a secret boss fight that you can do. Kind of like a ””reward”” after lots of grinding and doing genocide. Pretty much a perfect secret boss fight since it’s very difficult but possible, looks good, has a reason for it existing, etc. Only think that could be improved is making like a minute longer.
Just having Sans be his "comedic" self for once again is like a two-way understanding of his personality from the OG game and Genocide route. He knew he couldn't truly beat, so he had had to make his fight a living hell to get through to discourage you. Here, he's joking around (in personality, not in attacks), because he finally believes that him and the rest of the monsters here have a chance to beat you, and they did. It's like he turned his "I don't care anymore" personality from the timeline resets towards YOU. That's part of why this fanmade battle feels so memorable to me. :)

I absolutely love undertale fan content. the ending to this speaks so much despite no words being said at all. everyone that managed to survive staring into the sunset while letting what happened set in before going their separate ways. it all just makes this alternative ending better
I like the fact that in this genocide route Asgore actually does something and its so pissed off you killed everyone he even uses the other human souls to stop you. That ending was amazing to watch.
this feels like an undertale hardmode sans fight, it keeps that style of being goofy like in the ruins hardmode, but it IS actually harder. And the fact that the human looses makes it that much more hardmode-like
I feel like in the asgore fight he really held back from killing us because he hated killing humans but with the power of the six human souls now, and the tragedy of our rampage, he doesn’t hold back and obliterates us. He even takes our soul to presumably break the barrier.
The funny thing is your right he does hold back, undyne mentions that she could never hit him in training meaning he can dodge like sans, plus if he can Interact with your menu that means he understands the game rules like sans does as well he just chooses to hit mercy instead of fight cause he secretly wants to die for his sins
another funny thing is, if he went all out at us, even if he killed us he would not be able to get our soul, when we say we died to him more than one time, he just nods at hit, implying he KNOWS that we can come back from dead, and is likelly that other souls already tried winning and died, until they just gave their souls away, in the true pacifist ending all the coffins are open after asriel fight, which means that either A:the souls slid the coffin open, or B:that the humans revived, or C:that a monster went down there, and took the bodys somewhere else, also is implied that the souls have self conscience in the omega flowey bossfight, when they rebelled against him, so it's likelly that the humans just gave their souls to asgore, and him preserved their bodys so that after he breaks the barrier the souls can return, but maybe he just, did not expect humans to live after willingly giving their souls away, so considers to have killed them... or i am just crazy on diet coke
THIS IS ART!! BEST THING IVE SEEN. I love seeing Alphys being a hero, Asgore with the motivation to fight. So beautifully crafted, and gave everything a fan could want and more. As another commenter said, I hope if a hard mode was made, this was the canon genocide ending.
I always loved the idea of the player getting the soul absorbed in the end of the genocide route, I just froze when I saw this Certainly the most epic finale for undertale
Only being able to “Watch” or “Observe” just makes the ending so much better. Asgore absorbed the human’s soul and without it, saving and loading is impossible. Pretty much, that’s probably what gaster is like. He can probably watch or observe everything.
Usually I don’t like fan games that end with the human dying because it’s not fair. After all that hard work it doesn’t pay off. But… This fangame definitely deserved it. Besides, a fight like this would be impossible, and for an an actual reason, instead of just “sans use determination.” Also, I really like the idea of all the monsters that you haven’t killed in genocide coming together to fight with sans. Sans is smart, seems like he would do this. All in all… This is probably one of the best fan games I’ve seen! Although when it comes to fangames about sans there isn’t much competition… But this is a real diamond in the rough.
I wish this was an actual ending if you did the genocide route twice in a row. I just hate the fact that you get to kill everyone over and over without consequence.
Im pretty sure sans ONLY knows that resets exist and he doesn't actually remember any resets so thats probably why his attacks are still the same even though he knows you died because he thinks he did another attack

My only regret for this video is that the other character’s musical motifs didn’t play when they each showed up. Seeings as the entire soundtrack can fit super well together. Bergentrückung, then Your Best Friend, then Ghost dance, going into Alphys and the Amalgamation’s themes would probably sound super dope if done right.
Otherwise the video is amazing.
Couldn't have said it better myself
Yeah but the theme that played is official from Toby Fox so, it would be an extra effort to make a new Megalovania themselves.
Ironically enough, the theme played is smash's rendition of megalovania which does have have a part of asgore's theme, in this animation it even plays while asgore is absorbing the 6 human souls

tobi fox moment (misspelling intentional)
@theonetruemilkman4894 the only time you override higher determination is against the God of hyper death
But I always saw that as either
1. him bringing you back
2.so much determination in one spot that you can't die
@@theonetruemilkman4894cool idea, but i personally think that wouldn't be the case, like, in RPGs the number 9 is often portrayed as the absolute, since all max stats can only reach like 99999, by reaching level 20 you kinda just, surpass that
If it's only one level away from being able to erase an entire world with every person having determination, it certainly could be way stronger than portrayed in the game couldn't it?

Also, alphys bringing the amalgamates is the biggest brain play I’ve seen (they can’t die except crystal/snowy)

Yep, if Alphys was more confident, hypothetically from sans being emotional and serious, a jarring change from what she normally experience from sans or Undyne inspiring Alphys in her dying moments to avenge her, she could allow the amalgamates to attack Frisk. Undertale, but if the monsters were a little smarter to team up:
Undertale but Alphys installed cameras in the judgement hall.
Undertale but flowey told asgore to absorb 6 soul
Undertale but everybody found out sans is not the only one with the right to step to the side when the player attacks
I feel like in the asgore fight he really held back from killing us because he hated killing humans but with the power of the six human souls now, and the tragedy of our rampage, he doesn’t hold back and obliterates us. He even takes our soul to presumably break the barrier.
The funny thing is your right he does hold back, undyne mentions that she could never hit him in training meaning he can dodge like sans, plus if he can Interact with your menu that means he understands the game rules like sans does as well he just chooses to hit mercy instead of fight cause he secretly wants to die for his sins
and to top it all off he doesn't give you a chance to fight back
another funny thing is, if he went all out at us, even if he killed us he would not be able to get our soul, when we say we died to him more than one time, he just nods at hit, implying he KNOWS that we can come back from dead, and is likelly that other souls already tried winning and died, until they just gave their souls away, in the true pacifist ending all the coffins are open after asriel fight, which means that either A:the souls slid the coffin open, or B:that the humans revived, or C:that a monster went down there, and took the bodys somewhere else, also is implied that the souls have self conscience in the omega flowey bossfight, when they rebelled against him, so it's likelly that the humans just gave their souls to asgore, and him preserved their bodys so that after he breaks the barrier the souls can return, but maybe he just, did not expect humans to live after willingly giving their souls away, so considers to have killed them... or i am just crazy on diet coke

But…
This fangame definitely deserved it. Besides, a fight like this would be impossible, and for an an actual reason, instead of just “sans use determination.”
Also, I really like the idea of all the monsters that you haven’t killed in genocide coming together to fight with sans.

All in all…

But this is a real diamond in the rough.
