Mark your calendars for March 18th! We are hosting an open house / pre tent release at the FSR HQ in Golden, CO! All are welcome to join 🙌🏻 If you cant make it to the party, online orders will begin March 21st. Stay tuned for a sub-zero solo camp trip video for the first night out in this tent 🏴
Great job! Two suggestions 1st Have the light be able to do red or amber to help attract less bugs. 2nd have the side tracks use a t- slot with some weight carrying capacity something like 25lbs at most 50. Creative folk could make a bracket from aluminum to mount things such as solar panels or Other light weight items is my thought.
Thankfully you mentioned the rail system on the sides of the tent.. that’s the whole reason I’m pro FSR. I Dont have a very large off-roader so storage even on to is needed!
Well done Talon and FSR! Looks like a very promising RTT that hits a lot of marks at a reasonable price. The only downside to me is the soft cover. Every soft cover tent I’ve seen driving down the highway starts looking like a sail at some point. While you mentioned it doesn’t need to be used, the tent does look a bit “unfinished” without it. Hoping when it receives the track system and goes into final production this changes. Hopefully this doesn’t come across as negativity as that’s not my intention. Cheers!
Suggestion: Don't get rid of the electrical port for a heater port. Both would be epic! You may not want to run electrical along side the heater vent, things may get a bit toasty. Tent looks great!!!
Love everything about this tent. I know you said “maybe”, but please please please convince FSR to put t-slot channel around the edges. Drastically increases practicality and should appease most of the folks asking for roof rails as well.
Coming from an older odyssey, some of the new changes are phenominal. The weight, the cover, the new interior lights, the heater port, the new mattress, interior storage when closed, it keeps going! All that and FSR customer service makes that price a steal!!
Super stoked about this!! I dig the added cover and the added protection for daily driving with the tent mounted. Love everything about it so far and I will definitely be getting one!!!
Love this style of tent. You could make several styles/models. Start basic to luxury. Made to order option. Bring a RV experience by framing a pop out window. Add drop table to inside window. Never use plastic window roof crap. Solar set up for plug n play. Dog door with ramp. Like the cover but what about awnings/etc..Will be buying when available. Maybe a custom diy in the future.
an optional drop down sheet from the portion jetting out over the tailgate would be nice. the tailgate would make a great spot for changing clothes, removing boots, etc. a heater could also be placed on the tailgate to heat up the tent
Talon, you remind me of Steve Jobs. Jobs eye for detail and pleasing aesthetics was second to none. From guns, to knives, to revamped SAT Van, to merch, to… and now tents. It’s pretty impressive.
Also, maybe offer a version with no mattress to cut down on cost for those of us that already have nice camping mats. I also like the soft cover for protecting the tent while storing in the garage!
Y’all should ditch the “limited edition” and make them ALL “Sei Spec”! I’d LOVE to get one with some orange accents hint hint! 😉 Looks like a really great option to take on solo mountain bike camping trips around the US like I want to do! Always enjoy your content, much love from Texas!
Have the electrical port opening closer to front of tent. We can leave our goal zero in the truck/car, and run out of rear window or w/ pickups - out of the rear window
Like it all black... please don't get rid of that and add colors... but yeah I get it for your limited edition ones I guess that's ok... I've been waiting for and all black RTT
It has been cool to watch this collaboration. I might have to consider getting rid of the gen 1 FSR I have to upgrade to this thing. I'll mark my calendar for the FSR party!
just call it the talon edition and do a camo patern on the top that matches your cement truck camo and maybe do a forest green version black and white to match other taco stock colors but keep the camo patern maybe a cool talon from a dragon or crazy bird of pray to go with a theme for a logo i got some ideas lol
In the previous video, the tent had a soft or fabric panel on top. Did that get changed to a hard panel? This looks like the perfect RTT but need a crossbar option please
I love the interior upgrade designs and changes. If only they kept the 2.0 exterior setup and size. Hopefully they will make another line called fsr ultra.
Sei...nice project. Why not use the soft cover as an additional accessory as a sunvisor/shade instead of throwing it at the back of your seat. Its already included at no price. Add some tent rods which weight almost nothing. 👍👍🙏
Thanks for the great video. I think the Aspen light just knocked the Geo 2.5 off of the top of my most wanted RTT list. Do you happen to know what the final overall internal height will be? Thanks!
What battery pack are you using to adjust the lights inside the tent. We bought the Aspen but all I have are just regular portable batteries like you would use to charge your phone. It doesn’t allow me to adjust the brightness of the lights
@@TalonSei I think a really cool add on accessory you could sell separately is some cross bars that mount into the tracks for the RTT to make the tent even more modular. Thanks for the replies!
What mount did you use for this RTT on your frontrunner track? Not feeling comfortable with the hardware FSR included in this tent coupled with the frontrunner track 🤔
Do you know if they will offer this in the smaller 49 ' size as they do with the regular Aspen series? I know you mentioned this one is 55 ' I have a Bronco Sport and would love to go with this option due to the fact it is much lighter in weight/interior updates but would need the 49 ' to fit the roof perfectly.
Great tent! Looks like you have a short bed Taco like mine, but when I checked the dimensions of the tent, the length is a little over 80” which is almost 20” longer than my bed. So, am I wrong and you have to the long bed or am I looking at the wrong FS tent?
@@TalonSei Ah! That explains it. Guess it’s back to the iKamper for me. Too bad, looks like you guys hit all the righty things with this. Oh, thanks for the speedy reply!!
Great video! Any idea if the length is set in the design? This tent has everything ive beeb wanting.I was so stoked on all of the details until I figured out that 80" is 6'6". I'm 6'4" 😅
The main door is the back is covered by rain. The sides are not so you would just want to keep those closed. The side vents at the top are covered for being open while it is raining
Will the pass through for the diesel hose cause an issue if you also run and electric cord through at the same time? Haven’t used a diesel heater yet, not sure how hot those hoses get.
They get warm but not to a point where it will cause an issue. You also don’t need to put them through together. Some batteries are good down to 0°F operating temps so you could leave it out
Can they make the bottom mounting rails adjustable side to side so its compatible with rhino rack pioneer roof racks? So far none of the RTT mounting rails line up for the rhino racks and people need to do modifications.
I do wish you guys kept roots with the original prototype from day 1. This went from a minimalist light rtt for the climbing bum/backpacker/minimalist to a more expensive luxurious model with an iPad holder that is lighter but not sub-90. Pretty upset with that because FSRs tent line ranges in the 120-140# and something radically light, minimal, and simple would open a plethora of add-on options. Looks like I will be waiting in line for the GFC superlite 🤷♂️ Maybe make two versions. An ultra light version of this and this design you have just arrived at. You guys were onto something during the first iteration. But dude; $2600 bones?!? What happened?! Congratz on the design nonetheless. You guys definitely will fit between ultra light (GFC, IO) to max luxury (roofnest, ikamper). This gray area definitely has a presence in the rtt market. People who wanna get into camping without totally nuking their daily driver MPGs
Appreciate the feedback. This was never meant to be the most minimal rtt possible, I had the idea to make a light, affordable, feature packed tent compared to everything else on the market. Coming in at $2,549 with my code makes this the best bang for your Buck without making sacrifices like having a shitty mattress and no storage. All of these features and price points were mentioned every since my first testing video.
@@TalonSei and i just wanna emphasize that I definitely respect your opinion and input for the design on the tent. It does look super fuckin comfortable and is 100% more affordable compared to other clamshells. Perhaps I am speaking from the minimalist side of the market that is thirsty for that truly lightweight simple RTT that seems super elusive to the RTT designers.
Will they for sure be adding a t-slot/track? 5:44 Will the frame be strong enough to hold awning or other accessories? Love the all-black looks slick bro 🤙
If it has track options like you say it’s going to have, why couldn’t you attach crossbars to those tracks like on the original Aspen? This tent is IDEAL for my needs, but need crossbars to carry accessories like paddle boards and Roam storage box… But crossbar compatible or not I think you guys did a great job.👌🏼
Fair enough. I don’t mind paying extra for the crossbars. Just want to confirm that they will be compatible and if so, what the weight rating will be. If they are compatible and can hold a decent amount of weight (Aspen holds 250lb I believe 🤔) I will wait to order this one!
This checks just about every box I can think of. I was wondering why there couldn’t be a diesel port while watching and the you said it. Do you know the exterior length of the tent?
@@TalonSei Awesome! The roof on the 2-door bronco is only 83” so this is everything I’ve been wanting in a tent. Even the GFC super lite is 90”. Can’t wait to get one.
Does anyone know if this will have a crossbar option? Also, I believe it's only available in one size? I'm in the market for my first tent and this looks like a good option.
@@TalonSei Aww bummer. I have researched that model, looks great but it's $4K for the 55inch w/ crossbars. I'm looking for a similar package in the 3-3200K range.
How much overhang (if any) would there be on a 5 ft bed? I was considering a skycamp mini because of LLOD, but apparently this is 2" shorter than that (according to their site).

Any chance with the rail system they could make maybe an accessory level that you could slide in to make sure your vehicle is level?
Solid idea. I don’t think that’s something we will include with the tent but an east accessory to make!
@@TalonSeiHow is the tent sitting flush lengthwise in your Tacoma? The tent is 80.5” in length but Tacoma beds are shorter than that.
Talon, will the next generation come in a smaller footprint? 58” is too wide
What is the discount code?

Separate diesel heater and electrical pass-through.. that way the cables wont get too hot..
Just ordered SEI’s version last night! They have been out of stock from what I remember for a while but luckily they had four in stock yesterday.
Nice presentation of a coming soon Roof Top Tent. You have considered many of the camper wishlist.

Nice, great work finding the sweet spot in the market.
Awesome Talon! I’m getting mine soon!!!
Are they planning on releasing 2 different sizes like the aspen 49 and 55? I am interested on the smaller size tent only for weight saving.

In the previous video, the tent had a soft or fabric panel on top. Did that get changed to a hard panel? This looks like the perfect RTT but need a crossbar option please
Will this tent be load capable? Load bars be offered. Great video - thanks!
I see one GREAT thing about the soft top it would protect any solar panels.
You should wrap the top with your Camo and logo in orange so when it is propped open it’s like a showcase!
That tent fits perfectly on the back of the Toyota.
Definitely a future goal to own one of these!
Dope tent ⛺️ looks like a sick collaboration! ✌️
Good job Talon and GoFSR, great looking product. 👍🏻

Is there an interior size difference between the aspen and the new aspen light? Inside height?

Great Job Talon

If I could offer 1 idea. Coloured pulls. Kids and adults. I love the black tent but the contrast of bright pulls means easy doors.
Always enter through the back

No rail mounts but you could probably find a way to attach solar if needed.
