My dad bought me the Cabela's version of the buck filet knife a few years back and for my 21st birthday the 110 folder. That one was a good thirty years ago.

You have great taste in knives! I really like the blue handle. I’m personally interested in getting the compadre camp knife. I like that style, I find it more useful for the stuff I do then the longer skinny blades.
Gotta be that guy. The 119 is the special. The 120 is the general... You got the nice ones too. Ever think about getting one from their custom shop? The 120 makes a fun cutter.
Great collection! The 120 iron wood is fantastic! Removing the thumb stud on the 110 Legacy just makes it so sleek, good decision. I have the red bladed 104 with walnut handle, on my hip alot.
The 119 is called the Special. The General is the 120. And its not so much about the steel that blade is made out of, but how it is cooked. Aka, hardened and tempered. All Buck sheath knives are full tang. It is referred to as an "Over Molded" tang. I have three the 105 Pathfinder, the 118 Personal, and of course the 119 Special. On all three the tang goes all the way back to the butt cap. I tested all of them with a magnet.
You have some beautifil knives, and my whole family loves Buck, great knife company with some of the greatest history with knives today. Great video Matt!!

The 110 is great. They all are. I recently got the 110 auto with s35. Its a pretty awesome modern version of an iconic classic knife. You seem to really love Buck. I do too. My favorate bucks are the fixed blades. Great stuff.

Wonderful collection. You do need a 112 folding Ranger to be fully Ranger represented ;^) 2022 is its 50th year in production and I'd bet they come out with something interesting to commemorate it. That Legacy 110 sure tempts me. I'm debating between it and ordering a custom 110 S30v with Elk scales.
A 112 in next on my list and I was thinking the same thing about a 50th anniversary edition. As far as Legacy vs Custom… that’s a tough one. If you can swing it, grab a Legacy now while they’re available and get a custom in the future.
I love that version of the 212, I really like the blade on the 212 but find the handle on the standard 212 oversized. I really wish they had gone with a 102 handle for it.

I am not against the idea of them but on this knife the stud is black and sticks out like a sore thumb. With an old school knife like this, opening it with 2 hands is not a big deal to me.
I have the exact same Buck 119 Pro and 124 Frontiersman like you do on this video. I also have an older Buck 119 I bought back in the late 80's with the 425M steel blade. As luck would have it my 3 big Buck knives all have different grades of steel (425M, S35VN, and 420HC). I think the Buck 119 Pro with the S35VN has the best blade for sharpness retention and durability. The only con I have with the Buck 119 Pro and the 124 Frontiersman is the sticker shock.....$185 to $200 is a damn expensive Buck knife. Especially the 124 (one of Buck's best knives), the price should not be $185 (to $200) for a 420HC blade, the same steel that is in the $80 Buck 119 Special. The 119 Pro and 124 are a bit overpriced.
