I bought into 1st ed. No gaming buddy's were interested. Sold it all. The bought in again, for 2nd edition, and though ok I will learn it myself, then just go to a tournament. Had to sell out due to a divorce. 3rd times a charm, I've bought a ticket to Warfare's tournament this year. Now just to buy back in. 3rd times a charm.
It's really awesome that the models are in Winter Gear. It seems to be kind of a rare depiction in WW2 media and games. You just don't see it as often.
Just got into Bolt Action, and bought the Airborne starter set, an M4 Sherman tank and a few other models, and I'm so glad because now I will get the new rule set so I can start playing soon!
A really fascinating video. I play flames of war and although I obviously am aware of bolt action, this video has show me an excellent starter set. It’s something I could get and play with my brother who doesn’t have a lot of cash to buy sets. It’s great to see the full rulebook in there as well. Thanks again for the guide.
The nice thing about the ruined building is that you can create multiple ruined buildings and different sizes. The starter sets in general have provided more than other game companies do. The rulebook in this size is welcome and does cover every possibility in game play one might forget at the time. On the sprue bits that pop up on joint areas to connect the pieces together. Yes, you can cut or trim them off. I found the use of a cardboard finger nail file works pretty well, and you can get a pack of them cheap at the local store. This set, in general, looks like a good start to create a Bulge war game. I'd add some other vehicles to it. American halftrack, trucks, jeeps, Sherman, and Priest tanks. German halftracks, kubelwagen, King Tiger, Stug III or IV. It should offer a unique experience in battles and fun gaming. That's all I have. Great informative review. Thank you! 👍
Look like some good sprues with lots of options. I look forward to seeing lots of winter themed tables when all these winter gear platoons get fielded.
That´s a nice starter box for the third edition. I started Bolt Action some years ago and US Army was my first army, followed by Germans. I focused on Normandy landing, but this year I bought a winter battlemap and made some winter terrain. So I think I am good prepared for the Battle of the Bulge. :D
I’ve enjoyed years of playing war games with my dad, mainly games he collected in the 70’s and 80’s. We’re thinking about getting into bolt action after I watched your new players guide video. Would love to win a set as a surprise for him!
It's a great starter set picked up mine on Saturday always handy to have the smaller rule book as well for throwing in the bag when traveling. Looking forward to painting these.
All looking very nice. I didn't play much 2nd edition, but my WWII juices are starting to get flowing again for 3rd. I'm particularly liking what I hear about the new force selection rules, which feel a bit more realistic than previous editions.
Battle of the bulge would be a great way to start my journey into table top war gaming, I’ve played mostly D&D with my friends from college but recently I got a feeling that I wanted something more down to earth and in line with my history buff side.
Very appropriate themed box set on the upcoming 80th anniversary of the battle of the Bulge. I've been wishing to see plastic American winter troops for years! Thank you for the video!
It's a lovely range with some wonderful minis. I've got the 2nd edition rulebook at the moment with some British units. Exciting times going forward with the 3rd edition release.
Fallschirmjäger are an unusual choice for a Bulge starter set, as only two divisions were in the German OOB: 3rd in the north and 5th in the south, the latter best known for defending against Patton's counterattack. The 28mm models are lovely, but at $150 you can buy 4x this in 20mm (1/72), which is why I recommend the latter for newbies.
I have the overs 3 box sets I must admit that the figures in the New set looks great and the book looks brilliant it's the first time seeing the inside of it fantastic artwork looks great 👍👍👍🤠🤠
That’s a pretty decent starter. I’ve already got a sizable US Airborne army and a Falschimjager force. But I don’t have winter versions of them. Just sayin’ …
Still never had enough money to get the game, but I really like how the play is done...lol ... maybe some day. I always enjoy seeing your channel every now and then. You guys do an excellent job. I always liked playing Panzer Blitz and putting together the old WW2 models. Bolt Action just puts it all in one combo.👍👍
I have been wanting to get into Bolt Action since my acquiring the 'Band of Brothers' starter set, which still sit unopen on my shelves. I see the new edition as an opportunity to follow through.
I'm just starting with The Band of Brothers set which has a 2E book. I'd love more troops. I did get a couple of French Resistance units, a set of Japanese along with order dice, and a set of Marines with dogs that I'm looking forward to putting together and painting.
Looks great - although I did just buy my son the 2nd edition starter box! Did get a voucher with it for the 3rd edition rule book at least, thought that was pretty damn decent of Warlord.
I am sooooo looking forward to this release. Looking forward to the winter american. I got a load of winter Germans to convert a few years ago but never got round to it. But now I will have a winter german force as well.
I’m have some painted models from 2nd edition, but like many others here I haven’t actually played! Hopefully 3rd edition will push me over the edge. I’m on south east coast UK if anyone else in the area is looking for a newbie gaming buddy!
Excited to see this one and follow the rest of this week's content. I'm new to Bolt Action, a Pallet cleanser from my usual Blackpowder Epic or Hail Caesar
Bolt action is great value for money in the sets and they do a lot of good deals too. It’s fun to play but not many players around me. I how the activations works much better than most games. The German Paras look tight!

Congrats on the divorce. I’ve done it twice.
My 10 year old son is getting into table top gaming. I’d love to play this with him!
Paired arms make me happy, a much more pleasurable build experience than some of their previous kits with mostly separates.
It will be nice to see some more tanks getting onto the field with the new rules!
I picked up a Gentelmans War for Christmas and even painted most of it. Just haven’t gotten around to actually playing yet
Just got my 3rd edition rule book. Can't wait to start playing my Canadians again or finally playing with my Italians.

Got mine last week.
It came with a cloth dice baggy, which is nice :)
The themed week is going to give me plenty of inspiration for the assembly.

I've seriously considering getting into Bolt-Action. The army set looks like a great way to leap in, if a bit pricy.
Can't wait to read the new rules and test the new units selctor. And this starter set looks so awesome !
Thank you for a detail review of the starter set. You have sold the new edition for me ... now for the painting
I've been making terrain in preparation for 3E for a few weeks now. I can't wait to finally dive into bolt action.
Thank you for going through the box set and the sprues in detail. I really like all the options that Warlord give you for the miniatures.
I've had my eye on Bolt Action for a while now. This new edition may be the perfect time for me to start!
I've been looking forward to this set for a while. Brilliant stuff!
It's a great starter set picked up mine on Saturday always handy to have the smaller rule book as well for throwing in the bag when traveling. Looking forward to painting these.
I've always admired Bolt Action from afar, being a WW2 buff. Would be nice to finally jump on the bandwagon!
I love your Bolt Action coverage. Keep the battle reports coming
Thank you

Good afternoon all, this has really helped me decide to purchase this in a little bit, thank you for the great video!!!
The new miniatures look amazing, especially the winter americans, an awesome upgrade to the og metal models
Quality starter set. Hard plastic minis, rule book and extra goodies. V3 is gonna rock!
It’s really nice to see a plastic Bedford qlt released as well
I have finished to build the band of brothers starter set and some extra minis, so the best of time to learn the rules!
I'm going to have to pick this up eventually. I don't have any winter models and I love the M-8 Greyhound.
Looking forward to getting my dak on the table under the new rules. Thanks for the info and run through
Battle of the bulge would be a great way to start my journey into table top war gaming, I’ve played mostly D&D with my friends from college but recently I got a feeling that I wanted something more down to earth and in line with my history buff side.
This set has me really happy as it is two plastic kits I have wanted since 1st
Great to see this battle covered. Can't wait to play. Thanks for the review.
Well got Band of Brothers at the start of the year but wasn't really interested assembling and painting till the V3 announcement came. Now I AM HYPED!
Always loved the look of bolt action, Super cinematic starter box with the battle of the bulge. Love it!
Very appropriate themed box set on the upcoming 80th anniversary of the battle of the Bulge. I've been wishing to see plastic American winter troops for years! Thank you for the video!
So excited for v3, been playing since 1st ed and only game I ever got my dad to play, good times
Good to see a new edition of Bolt Action and to see that the game is growing.
I've been playing since 1st edition launch looking forward to this edition.
Looking forward to picking up 3rd ed, i just ordered a British 8th army starter set as my grandad was with them in Tripoli :)
Awesome boxed set. Rules are concise, quick and fun.
It's a lovely range with some wonderful minis. I've got the 2nd edition rulebook at the moment with some British units. Exciting times going forward with the 3rd edition release.
Good looking box set, have been toying with the idea of a Bastogne diorama for years
Looking forward to using the vast quantities of vehicles in my collection and trying different platoons.
So glad to see more Bolt Action on OTT. Your channel is what got me interested in BA to begin with. Many thanks!
Glad to see BA back on OTT. The videos are always great to watch.
Super starter box. Think the new rules will make fun, more varied armies. One small thing, it'd be nice to see alternative terrain.
With 3rd edition drop, this is definitely a game im interested in . Recreating legendary battles on the table top seems so much fun
Played it at a friend's place. It was pretty fun. The details in this video were awesome. I kinda want one now.
At the risk of being reductive for a joke: "A battle of the bulge set? I thought they already had A Band of Brothers themed box."

Stoked to have a nice Boltaction community in the Bay Area. Looking to go deep into 3rd edition. Played a shit ton of 2nd and some 1st. 👊🏻😎
Fantastic to see all the Third Edition coverage! Can't wait to get playing!
Nice that it has the two new kits in it. 😊
I'm just starting with The Band of Brothers set which has a 2E book. I'd love more troops. I did get a couple of French Resistance units, a set of Japanese along with order dice, and a set of Marines with dogs that I'm looking forward to putting together and painting.
This looks like an incredible box for starting a Bolt Action journey! Awesome work and thank you!
Played a last hurrah to 2nd Ed this weekend. Looking forward to trying some 3rd Ed soon.
Looks great - although I did just buy my son the 2nd edition starter box! Did get a voucher with it for the 3rd edition rule book at least, thought that was pretty damn decent of Warlord.
Super excited to jump into third edition this weekend, my book just came in today!
Thank you so much for the great videos, have made the hype for this release so amazing!
Fingers crossed!
I play ACW mainly but for some reason keep finding myself looking at minis for WW2. Might have to go pick this up and finally treat myself.
Looks like I'm purchasing this starter box. The new sculpts look amazing
Interesting to see Fallschirmjäger here. Sculpts look nice.
I am sooooo looking forward to this release. Looking forward to the winter american. I got a load of winter Germans to convert a few years ago but never got round to it. But now I will have a winter german force as well.
The new edition of Bolt Action looks great. Cant wait to play the new ruleset!!!🎲
I cant wait to see how this plays! Great to see all that included in the box
I'm looking forward to playing this with my boys!
This looks like a great time to enter the bolt action hobby. Happy for the good timing!
Looking forward to getting the set and the new infantry kits in it.
Great unboxing. I guess I didn’t pay attention to the contents when it was announced. It’s great that it includes the ruins.
there's even a dice bag that I dropped and didn't notice XD
Really nice starter set to actually be able to play a decent size game with - good job!
This is intriguing. I'm reading A Time for Trumpets currently.
This is tempting even just for the small rulebook, really going to miss my 2nd edition small book until I can pickup a new starter
I've been looking into a historical tabletop game to get into with my son and I think this may have convinced me
I have soooo many other games to play with to little time to actually play but I’m very tempted to get this.
I enjoy these new models very much. Honestly think these infantry kits are the best they've made at this point.
I’m have some painted models from 2nd edition, but like many others here I haven’t actually played! Hopefully 3rd edition will push me over the edge. I’m on south east coast UK if anyone else in the area is looking for a newbie gaming buddy!
Good looking starter set, jam packed as Gerry says.
Really fantastic overview. I've been interested in bolt action for awhile and I think this is the entry point for me
Let's go! So excited for this version. I think it will make for way more interesting lists and game play
Nice looking starter set. We were looking at Bolt Action. Maybe we will jump into it this edition
Man - If there was ever a contest I wanted to win, it’s this!!!
Excited to see this one and follow the rest of this week's content.
I'm new to Bolt Action, a Pallet cleanser from my usual Blackpowder Epic or Hail Caesar
Prepping for the launch event I’m running this weekend!
great unboxing, thanks Gerry. Looking forward to getting this
Bolt action is great value for money in the sets and they do a lot of good deals too. It’s fun to play but not many players around me. I how the activations works much better than most games. The German Paras look tight!
Been really wanting to get into Bolt Action and a new edition seems like the best time to jump in :)
Its great to see the new edition stuff. Can't wait to start playing Third Edition!!
Nice unboxing of the new starter set for Bolt Action, great box for those wanting to get into the game.
Looking good, I feel more motivated to play now than I have in a long time.
What a great time to find out about this game, can't wait to try it
Top review and unboxing as always - Thanks Gerry.
Excited about the new edition. Great looking starter set!
