Microsoft Wants You to Switch to Minecraft Bedrock Edition. This is a NEW Minecraft 1.21 video. In this video, I am going to talk about all the things that Microsoft, the owners of Minecraft, are doing to push players into giving Bedrock Edition a try. Java players usually don't feel like trying out Bedrock, as Java is more customizable and has more freedom in what you do with the game overall. Recently though, Microsoft is slowly pushing players to give the game a try. And many players are unhappy about it. It's very epic, fun, amazing and poggers! This will make playing Minecraft insane and amazing! Your players will absolutely love it! I had lots of laughs and fun. Hopefully, you'll get some useful information from this video. @@Over0w0MeAmTheHotel is it not? consoles have terms and conditions that bans fan mods or things like that without looking after it, while bedrock fails at checking the content but at least they tried, yes i am not a fan of marketplace being so expensive but java had the same thing for years for example optifine capes which is cosmetics, clients like bad lion and lunar client which is used by millions have the same thing and so many of java players bought cosmetics stuff from it
so many hacked clients is sold with real money too
i am a java players but i kinda enjoy both games, i hate how many bugs i've faced with java if i was counting them for the past 6 years it would be easily over a hundred, transfer packets didn't got into java until lately (i am middle eastern so even eu kinda sucks for me), fps drops on my old computer was really bad compared to bedrock too
for me i'd say bedrock is better for pvp (combo is really nice cuz of the y (height kb) which feels quite smooth compared to 1.8.9) i dont like new combat of java but i like the servers that is in newer versions like wynncraft and mcc
for me at least bedrock is a really smooth game its like running a game on a mobile (which i know it is like this but it feels kinda like roblox where you can always join at any time), while java if it worked properly would be like a friday game which is heavy.
anyways lets add more things first i dont think emotes are bad at all sure it has some questionable things that you can buy but i got so many for free by events and achivements
secondly i dont think java would be good on console at all, it has many flaws like being able to join multiple versions (banned on console), modpacks, texturepacks and data packs would be something like marketplace on bedrock or impossible to do, most servers you wont able to join too unless you were partnered, I know some of you blame mojang or microsoft about this things but it's console side stuff even if microsoft said yes playstation and nintendo wont
also i like parity which makes you be able to play with friends on other devices i know you would blame mojang to remove it so they get rid of marketplace (or at least from the comments i've seen) i think its a nice idea minecraft was always for 10+ years
also some of you says java has better maps which is mostly true but there is some nice stuff you can get on bedrock like the 15 years annivarsy map which had cameras, platformer gamemode and stuff like that which is also unique
also from what i've seen in the video he talks about how you can have plugins on java while bedrock you cant and did he ever heard of pocketmine?
also they should remove java cape from the mcc cape cuz java players hate bedrock and they want an exclusive event for them without thinking about the console players or mobile players saying like they are forced to play the game to do the event (Which is not it is just a cosmetics) we deserve more than them.

As a bedrock player, ill admit, bedrock rn is kinda like the youngest sibling that gets all the attention
java is the oldest sibling, ps3-4 version is the older middle sibling, pocket edition is the younger middle sibling and bedrock is the youngest sibling

Exactly the same. I started playing in school with friends on class breaks, it was so much fun. Many years passed, and I still have all of the memories. Too bad that Microsoft destroyed our hopes and dreams, and now we have no choice except play java edition

Because I have banned the spyware that calls itself "Windows" from my life and because my phone hasn't enough storage space and processing power to play Minecraft, I only can play Java. Mcpelauncher exists if you wanna run bedrock (pocket edition) through linux, that's what I did to get the cape.

The (java) community needs to turn the "you-can-not-buy-them-seperately-anymore" into one of our biggest advantages. The sword cuts both ways; ANY CURRENT BEDROCK PLAYER from now on COULD BE A POTENTIAL JAVA PLAYER!
I thin instead of dog-piling bedrock (which it deserves) it would be more productive to have some Try-Java-Week (similar to MC Championship) where we actively encourage bedrock players with a computer to try java. Have videos, server, events, modpacks, tutorial that show them the ropes of how awesome this game is. Because currently all the active advertisement and "recruiting" goes into bedrock edition.
I don think you can convince people to switch by telling them their edition is worse, you have to persuade the into trying the better edition and experience it.
finally someone with a functioning brain, but i have to say something tho, now that the event is pc exclusive, are you sure console and mobile players won't get mad? it's like trying to balance a broomstick in the palm of your had, you can't satisfy everyone, unless you do an event where both versions can can be played by other players from opposite versions, because you never know, some java players might like bedrock better (like me) and bedrock players might prefer java, bedrock isn't flawed, it's just that people only show you the flawed parts of it, would be like saying java is worse because of lag and instability, even though that is true, there is stuff that far outweighs that in terms of good
@@Napoleon_e2 Every time I hear criticism about the java version it's always the performance, but having played both, java is so much better. There are so many tiny things that add up to making the experience horrible. The main issue I have is the combat. It has pre 1.9 mechanics with mob ai post 1.9. Why do I have to sneak to use a shield in the off hand? I can play java on hard without any issue, but on bedrock I can't since skeletons shoot through your shield if you aren't shielding before they shoot.
Why do you like bedrock over java? What am I missing? When playing bedrock it feels like a mobile game port and it was sad to learn that it is.

I play on Bedrock and finding out that the Bedrock Tinkers Construct COSTS MONEY AND HAS LESS STUFF THAN JAVA. Fuck Bedrock, once I get a pc, im switching to Java.
Having played both editions, I will stick with Java Edition thanks. No matter their tactics, Bedrock is inherently broken and I am NOT interested - the only reason they want you to switch is to sell you 'modifications'. Its corporate greed plain and simple.
Yeah, I for a while never really played bedrock, only seeing it from content creators, and I thought to my self: "hey, the redstone might suck, but if your not into that, is it really that bad?" Then played bedrock, and wow, it was so much worse than I thought. Like, if your going to push for people to play bedrock, they really shouldn't have made it suck so much.
As someone stuck with Bugrock edition, good decision. Microsoft clearly gave up on complete parity between the two versions and is now trying to shove it down java players' throats because then, they don't have to add java features to bedrock while also making java players switch to bedrock. At the very least, all they have to do is fix all the bugs and add java features to bedrock but they can't even do that.
@@LunarBiohazard321 Oof i was stuck on bedrock until i got a pc and to say the least bedrocks sucks now that i see what java is like as java has so many FREE extra content unlike bedrock which just has so many microtransactions that makes my head spin and heck they're making you pay for bedrock mods aka addons which you can get for free on java which includes resource packs and worlds which on java also free and well the most annoying thing BUGS like the pink glitch and breath to die glitch aka dying for no reason just how does microsoft not fix these like they care about the microtransactions more than fixing the game so if you can switch believe me it's great so yeah hope you can switch sooner or later.

Fair enough for multiplayer maybe, but what if I decide to play single player only and my Internet is down.. I can see how this is going to turn out.
the reason why the java players only got the cape for the 15 year anniversery was because the rest of the prizes for bedrock were character creator items. basically theres a character creator in minecraft witch is like third party skin editors but instead of being able to edit every induvidual pixel you can only change preset things. like 30 premade eye shapes. 200 premade hairs. etc. same thing goes for clothing and yes. most of the character creator clothing costs money.

Definitely. I think it's definitely possible for that to be a thing in the future, especially considering the newly lowered price on mobile (idk if it's a region thing or 15th anniversary or whatever) because at this point they might be making more from the marketplace than from game purchases. Going the f2p route might bring in a LOT of new mobile players who play ripoffs, and also potentially pc players who play cracked java

As a java player, playing bedrock for the cape was honestly miserable. I couldn't use toggle sprint which just sucks, but then all the textures turned bright pink??? Like i know its probably just something wrong with the server but still. And then I had to do it again for my friend's account, who is on vacation right now. Lucky bastard.
Bright pink signified the other challenge you have to complete in certain areas. 100% intentional
I wouldn't be surprised if the way that Minecraft falls off turns out to be Microsoft discontinuing Minecraft java so that the players would go to bedrock edition.

There would immediately be a community project to keep supporting java so it wouldn't really work either, and the pushback would be massive since essentially all content creators play on java. They can't kill java for now without killing minecraft entirely.

Bedrock edition is a pain especially when wanting to play with friends. It lags so bad that I get 5 frames per second when playing multiplayer
I hate how you and your friend have to be on the same WiFi and Bedrock is too lazy to use their own servers and instead use consumers' routers.
There's a server plugin that allows you to connect bedrock players to a java server. Which won't fix their lag, but at least you'll be good.
I’d like to mention that I’m mad I did not get those capes because I thought they were all exclusive for bedrock edition. Now seeing everyone enjoying them is just adding salt to my wound.

Unrelated but I missed out on the vanilla cape during the migration process.
Main reason being 'cuz way back, Microsoft gave out free Windows 10 Edition codes to Java players. And when migrations were announced and that both bedrock and java would be bundled now, I was suddenly able to migrate my Java account to a brand new Microsofft and get a free alt using a separate Microsoft account.

I started on bedrock, so I should have a bias for it. However having played on java, I can safely say its leaps and bounds superior and I’m never coming back
Same especially as a kid who played quite a bit on my phone and somewhat on console before hand. But even though my pc is definitely too old and the game pretty much needs linux to be playable on 6gb ram, it feels more fun and with the servers not being completely garbage (lifeboat creative I played a bit but the server never connected well maybe issue on my end) it just feels like an actual game. Even trying to play bedrock on my phone, switch or even pc I just can't get the same motivation I do for playing java on a server or single player with/without mods. Even playing realistic craft as an addon I kinda just got bored after a while. Maybe it could be the style or just more free accessable gameplay with mods but I just haven't been as satisfied with bedrock since java. If anything once I can get a new hdd to fix my playstation I'll probably play legacy edition because I really like the older less vibrant style more.

In the same boat as you, played bedrock for YEARS. Touched java and now I only play bedrock bc of the pvp (bedrock pvp is ingrained in me atp)
I started with Bedrock on my iPad then I saw all these mods and was overall jealous. I switched over to Java and it was overall so much better, from commands, to bugs, to mods. Bedrock has nothing over Java.

I'll play Bedrock when i have to (special event servers, etc...), but Java will forever be my main version of the game

Java edition would be suck at low powered mobile devices. That was why Minecraft Bedrock made it in first place. The weird thing is why the Microsoft ported Minecraft Bedrock into PC, it is purely made for Console and Mobile devices.

What infuriates me about Bedrock is that it's riddled with bugs. The main menu is laggy and buggy, the shop is even worse. There's also so many issues with the inventory and selecting items in-game. Dunno how these issues have persisted for 3+ years unfixed.
One of the main reasons why Microsoft is attempting to get rid of Java is the fact that Java is made to run on other platforms such as Mac and Linux (Minecraft was one of very few games made to run on Linux) and of course Microsoft owns Windows so if they get rid of Minecraft they would pretty much have a monopoly over Linux gaming thankfully with steam and Proton Linux gaming will survive and is actually starting to rise after the flip of Windows 11

If I'm not mistaken, it's because they have a type of contract that doesn't allow them to discontinue Java for another means of programming, otherwise they would have migrated a long time ago

I used to be a bedrock player, it slowly got worse and worse performance. I used to have my chunks at like 50-60 with max graphics and I can't have them at more than 30 or else the game is unplayable. I switched to java with mods a while back and it's just so much better, shaders, qol mods, performance, parity. I'm a huge sucker for modding. But honestly, both games need an optimization update
The worst thing about bedrock, is the fact that you cant even swear.
There's so many bugs and missing features in bedrock regarding gameplay.
-The UI hotkeys are non-existant
-Off hand can't be use for almost anything.
-PvP is not 1.9 (yes ton of 1.8 pvp players prefer this over 1.9 Java pvp but in term of parity, it's nowhere to be seen)
-Click Event register on custom MCC stuff was horrendous, died to mobs in the nuclear reactor mini game because of that
-Falling through the map
-Dying to fall damage
-Harcore doesn't have it's place when you can die from lag. Wait did i write something wrong? Oh welp
7:37 -pink glitch curse, oh yeah i experienced this fabulous bug! Sounds like it happen more than it should.
-And let's not even talk about the horrendous FPS lag i get playing bedrock with a 3080
I just move around and get giant FPS drop, it's so bad, doing parkour become very frustrating.
Mind you i only logged on recently for the MCC cape. This was pain.
Extra note: Even if i play fully vanilla java, those crazy lag spikes are not present so this is my problem.

I tried to install minecraft on my laptop, started installing t-launcher and it just stopped loading for eternity so I had to turn off the laptop eventually. Then I said "nah, I'm playing on my phone".
We should make a community plugin for that special cape, only switching arabic numerals for roman ones to further show that we're the OG.
and also you can't play bedrock edition on macos nor UNIX-based systems(mostly linux distros), so a lot of people can't get the stuff

I'm actually getting ready to convert the important bits of a realms world to a self hosted server with java minecraft, because me and my family want the mods, and graphics customizations (like Distant Horizons) available.
I'm still mad about the copper bulb being changed to 2 ticks because of bedrock. On java that change can be reverted through mods
Nothing is gonna force me to play Bedrock Edition.
While playing the MCC event, my textures slowly all got replaced with missing texture pink. I thought it was a bizarre bug that must have been pretty rare since I hadn't heard of it before, but not even an hour later my friend had the same thing happen to them. Everything turned pink. As an aside, I thought it was really stupid that there was no way to get into a party with friends on the MCC server, but I don't think thats a bedrock problem, just a poor server management problem.
If Java stops getting updated, then it will give us a stable platform for modding, which is all many of us could dream of. Sure, the general player count may go down, but the modding community will thrive more than ever!

If they do that they need to make it easier to mod because currently you need to use an injector for bedrock which is really annoying compared to Java where you just put a file in the modpacks folder and your done

@@Croissant87technically for Java edition the mod’s code is still injected into the game, except it’s done by the mod loader. Even the mod loader itself is injected into the game.
Even if they stop updating Java Edition but continue updating Bedrock Edition, modders could just add the good updates (if any) that get added to Bedrock to Java Edition.
If bedrock had fabric, forge, optifine, spigot, and a few terabytes of mods (and had good servers and wasn't buggier than cyberpunk on release day) and didn't have microtransactions maybe I'd consider switching to it

I heard that the MCC cape was coming on Java, so I tried to get it on the Bedrock server. I booted the game, and all of my drivers broke. Borderline corrupted themselves, and I HAD TO REINSTALL EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Then I booted Bedrock again. AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. Never opening Bedrock again.
I actually kinda see "Java Edition" as a sort of upgrade. You can't extend Bedrock Edition, or what's just plainly called Minecraft now, but in Minecraft: Java Edition, _you can use Java to extend the game past the default experience._ Like a collectors edition or supporter edition, but instead it's Java Edition.
I will die before I switch to Bedrock Edition and I am happy to write a 5-page-essay about why
started this game on bedrock, ended up on Java. I will never come back to this Microsoft's toy.
I think Mojang should just stop working on Bedrock and let Microsoft work on it, so at least Java Edition will stay safe and forever enjoyable

They could've used MCC Island for the cape event, on Java Edition, but they literally chose to create a brand new server from the ground up on Java Edition.
The Bedrock MCC Island is literally a ripoff of the Java Edition MCC Island, it has 10x less minigames on it.

Completely understand where you're coming from. I primarily play Java, but always happy to hop on Xbox with those who I can't port forward for.
At first I was dreading having to play the MCC server, but I've come to really enjoy the server. Though after the first evening, it has gotten noticeably less laggy.
My big concern is Microsoft eventualy pressuring Mojang to stop support for Java later down the line, but as long as we have the current Mojang team I think we've got nothing to worry about!

Back when I used to play bedrock, I once found out that you can crash the game by having a dispenser pointed at dirt and a piston also pointed at it, and then activating both of them at the same time. There's also the fact that I've had many villagers just vanish randomly. Switching back to legacy ps4 edition was a great decision.
As a Java player, i respect bedrock edition players, Stop edition wars, in the end, it’s still Minecraft.

You may say that Bedrock Edition has features that Java Edition doesn't have like being able to tip arrows in a cauldron, but that doesn't matter because all of that can just be added to Java Edition using mods.
To me, Java edition is the real Minecraft and Bedrock Edition is just a trap to get little kids to use their parent's money on micro transactions. Also, I too played the MCC just to get the cape and noticed how badly it performed. Textures weren't loading, it was very laggy and crashed a few times. Even if it performed better, I like Java edition's features better (mostly). I do wish you could bonemeal sugarcane and shoot tridents from dispensers.
i actually played bedrock on my pc and still play it (call me a madman), but i'm considering switching to java, because of the pink glitch, memory leak, and etc. also, the reason i don't leave bedrock is because most of my friends can play only bedrock.

They removed the PDB file allowing to play with mods in Bedrock just for the sake of making money on their marketplace addons. If they won't place it back, I'm gonna hate the sh1t out of them.
Locking cosmetics behind paywalls is fine, but the fact that whole modifications and worlds and such are too? That's just.. overkill. Somebody shut down this damned company.

I found it shocking how laggy the server was, I thought it was something wrong with my instalation, because one thing I always praised about regular bugrock was its performance (despite its bugs...), this just goes to show how bad it is, that just the slightest modification (in that case the server plugins) can tank its performance
im 1000% sure everyone who plays Bedrock is just forced to because they dont have a PC for java.

Having the MCC server on bedrock also means that there are never any competitive or PvP games because of mobile players being at a constant disadvantage. This leads to the server being just a bit boring after the first few games because the biggest challenge your gonna get is 3 zombies walking towards you
Minecraft bedrock servers all have pvp game modes, they just decided not to add them here
Actually I really like the event games. Couldve been more clear on some things like how to actually get out of the sands of time instead of having to search online

I’ve given bedrock a lot of flack in the past but in reality I feel bad for those who don’t get a true sandbox experience from it
(Minecraft is meant to be a sandbox game so mods are part of the game in my eyes so since it restricts modding it’s not truly Minecraft in my eyes)

I come back to check bedrock from time to time and every time the experience is worse. At first there was insane input lag around 0.4 sec and now there are also the screen freezes. It was a torture playing for 5 hours trying to complete the quests. I have been playing "bedrock" since 2013, it's a shame what they have done to the game
microsoft did really bad, im using java for too long
and instead of hating on Microsoft for making bedrock bad, bedrock players recieve all the hate from Java players, when most of bedrock players don't have enough money for a PC and Java.

As an Ex Java player, who mainly plays on the mobile version of Bedrock edition. I agree the point you made on how laggy, and unstable it is especially on mobile i have to constantly release space so the game can run smoother, but even if my phone had 0 storage taken up, and Minecraft was the only app on it, it runs alot better but the thing is it's still crashes randomly even though my phone is decent enough to run Minecraft. Although they did updated the controls from 5he old ancient ones and we are able to move it at any position,but the performance could be much better just like the performance on 1.16 it was soo smooth even on an old phone.
The only reason im on bedrock is because of a flood in 2017 when my pc got stolen and i couldn't recover the account details so it was gone 2015-2017.

What Minecraft got right was the simplicity and yet endless possibility. That's how it garnered this much attention and became one of the most popular games of all time. The transformation into Bedrock is killing what made the game popular in the first place
I spent 5+ hours the cape for both of my accounts, and the experience was more than frustrating. The entire game needs to be rewritten, it is so bad...

So many people say that bedrock is realy optimized and better for devices but i had the same problam as you java 1000+ fps 300fps+ w shaders, but the bedrock event was so framerate poor and the constant stuttering was so annoying not even to mention pink glitch . I HATE PINK GLITCH
I was playing on the MCC server yesterday. For around an hour it was fine. After that it started lagging, then stuff started to turn purple. It got so bad that I had to restart the game, something I never have to do with Java. But that didn't fix the performance, and I had to live with it. In addition, Bedrock takes ages to load compared to Java (whilst using Fabulously Optimised). For all of those who say Bedrock has better performance, sort of. I get better performance in Bedrock than Java without mods, but Java's framerate is so much more consistent, which is much more important than consistently high framerates. Would you rather constant 30fps, or 60fps that regularly drops down to like 5-10fps?
Edit: Also, I have a suspicion that the server is a Java server with Geyser installed, just with connections to the java side blocked and a few other modifications... The two commands are /help and /?, with /? being a part of a Java plugin and only intended for the console, and that it uses Java PvP (Timed attacks and crits) instead of Bedrock PvP (1.8 PvP with Shields, spamming and all)
The creator of that server actually runs a java server so makes sense
Recently bought minecraft for my laptop, I grew up with console edition and eventually played bedrock on my switch and xbox one. My laptop isn't made for gaming but Java still runs good for me, It's such a more free creative switch and I feel a lot more content with Java.
No more minecoin spending for less-than ideal mods and possibly stolen skins for a broken buggy game!

I was on the event yesterday grinding for the cape (Java user was only doing it for the cape) and I had the same bug, the game started to have pink boxes glitch, it made players skin fully pink as well with the cape then it happened to my skin too, tried to go to settings or other things, the game became a pink screen escape removed the pink screen, then i decided to put the game in full screen and it crashed
That's not a glitch. Its part of the painting minigame where you had to do certain things in certain areas

Finally someone gets that it ain't Mojang's fault it's Microsoft because like he said at the end of the video Microsoft loves bedrock because it makes money but Mojang likes the original because it's their creation not made for a cash grab, it was made for people to have fun, And Microsoft ain't helping to say the least because i'm pretty sure Microsoft forced the chat reporting to be added because they want kids to play it which means they want the marketplace items which means money for Microsoft. (And no i'm not a dev i'm just a Minecraft fan that doesn't get why we're all looking at as the one causing problems Mojang and not Microsoft)
i have the singular issue with mojang being that mojang basically sold most if not all of their rights to the game to microsoft so they have little to no power to stop anything microsoft wants done
