Tshwane's task team to secure city's hijacked buildings

- Tshwane Metro has appointed a new task team to secure hijacked buildings in the city's CBD. The multi-disciplinary team includes the health department, city planning, the environment and the metro's legal team. MMC for Community Safety Grandi Theunissen elaborates.

I hope this task team includes a specialised unit from Home Affairs that deals with illegal immigrants and deportation. A comprehensive, thorough solution is needed for all these probabilities when clearing out these hijacked buildings.

They must also ask manpower from PA and Operation Dudula.Our CBD buildings are being hijacket by this foreigners.
Congratulations. This is a great step towards turning the CBD into a world class CBD which will turn it into a clean, well invested (creating jobs) and safe for all South Africans. We all need a sober look at what is working and what is not then vote accordingly.

And while the DA led municipal management is hard at work to clean up the mess, the ANC is hard at work to remove the mayor. Im often embarrassed that I am a member of the ANC.

Why has cleaning a city got to do with rich or poor, white or black?
Truth is poor people tend to have dirty habits - littering, public urination, constructing shacks, etc.
I live in a township where the City of Joburg's Pikitup come to remove dustbin rubbish every week, but the place us filthy! Poor people don't shy away from throwing litter etc. So poor people must change. Don't blame rivh people or blame the government trying to clean the place.

I am so glad that they have been to Sunnyside which has been turned into Makoko, Nigeria. I can't wait to see what these Nigerians are going to do when the buildings are being demolished! Thank God the DA is finally getting control of Gauteng. Hopefully in 10 years, Pretoria CBD will loo like Cape Town. When the ANC ran Cape Town, it looked exactly like Johannesburg and Pretoria and they cleaned up the place. Right now, Cape Town CBD is a world class CBD!

There's an operation done by SAPS. There are Zimbabweans who resides in the park down Constantia stream. Today I heard that police invaded the area and managed to arrest two men who are Zimbabweans. Others outran the police and climbed the high fence on the sides of the spruit. I think dogs are needed to help catch these people.
When it comes to dumping of refuse by the bakkies and trucks belonging to Zimbabweans on the other side of Pretoria East Hospital, my friend told me that they do the refuse dumping at night now.

The biggest challenge is to get new people into those buildings. So its easy to cleanup but sustaining renewal is a very hard thing to do.
Be positive. There's also a lot of people tryingvyo restore SA as best as possible.

During Mr H Mashaba turnure as mayor of Joburg there were investors ready to invest in those buildings cause you get rid of illegal tenants you must already have plan to have new tenants ready to occupy there
