Thank you for the sub! I've been using this thing for every gig since this video (which is pretty much every weekend!) and it sure simplifies your live setup!
Simplicity is king. Awesome patch too. As for expanding the channel, metal is awesome... but the guitar is capable of so much more cool stuff. Dabble in all of it!
Totally agree with the underwhelming presets on the pod go. Has taken ages to get some good metal tones. Look forward to some of yours you come up with. Found a fantastic one on youtube , the guy has extensively gone through the unit trying different amp and cabs , his prognosis is only a few sound good and have followed his programming. Absolutely awesome ,wish I could remember what the link was. Definitely worth searching for. If this came shipped with great tones preinstalled ,would be probably the best selling unit world wide.
I'm definitely going to highlight some metal tones on this thing but I really didn't buy this for metal. It's really just to simplify my solo gigs, which is mainly acoustic and throwing in a little electric here and there. Now, I also may use it for just effects through the effects loop of my EVH when playing metal...I'll do a video on that as well!
Thank you! I’ve not tried the Headeush yet. And for the POD Go, I ended up buying the acoustic setting from a site called worship tutorials. I made a few small changes to it but it sounds great for live shows!
Thank you…I need to check that out! But I think the issue would then be that I’d have to click out of the looper function mode to click the overdrive pedal and I’m trying to avoid multiple clicks, if that makes sense.
@@MPow104 I had thought about something like that, but today I hooked up my TC Electronics Ditto looper into the POD Go, and that works perfectly! Now I can loop a sound and then completely change patches on the POD Go for a lead (using the POD Go's looper, I'm confined to the same patch, which in the lead I just used an OD for my leads)
@@jasonstallworth Yeah if you already have one kicking around that makes sense. Plus you can throw it in the effects loop and move it anywhere in the chain if you want to loop an effected sound and play something clean over it.
Thanks for the video. I've just started playing around with the Pod Go looper but can't seem to figure how to overdub different presets. The ideal would be to setup some snapshots and overdub them. I've scanned through TH-cam and found several where people are doing it but no instructions. Do you have a video or can you just explain how this is done? Would appreciate it.
Dude, I actually use a separate looper with the POD Go. It makes the process so much easier. Here's a recent video on that: th-cam.com/video/RDbaCWjFblA/w-d-xo.html
Great real world video! Sounded awesome! Sooo spot on about the presets. I almost took mine back but then started from scratch and changed my opinion 100%. Just curious what you use for monitoring onstage? Also did you use the typical 1/4" cable to go to the PA or another type of adaptor. One person mentioned to me that I would need a 1/4 to XLR cable for most PA's. Thanks again!
Thank you! Yeah, I was not a fan of the presets!! lol But once you start digging in from scratch, you can create some cool tones, especially for these types of gigs! For this particular gig, I used one of my main speakers as a monitor (ElectroVoice ZLX 12BT). One main is plenty for smaller venues. But I do need to get a 3rd, or at least some sort of monitor for the larger shows. I actually put together a setup tutorial here at one of the bigger venues I play at: th-cam.com/video/W3ICk8oKLG0/w-d-xo.html
I’ve got the line 6 HD 5000 and it’s challenging to learn I’ve used the looper but it seems the volume diminishes it’s probably a setting I’m not using ( I have no instructions) just YT videos… any suggestions?… I’ve been told to go with a Boss looper… anyway enjoy your chanel… looking to get “on stage” one day!
Yeah, I don't care for the loopers in the Line 6 products but mainly because it's too many clicks to get there. But I DO love Line 6 for the amp sounds and effects, especially for these types of shows. Here's the latest looper pedal I've been using (I'll be sharing something new on my channel soon though!): th-cam.com/video/4Q6LaFpyXmU/w-d-xo.html
Nice video Jason, totally agree with your comments on the supplied patches. Have the same frustration on the looper as well. Which looper did you go with in the end?
Yeah, the looper is only good if you don’t intend of changing to another patch for your lead sound. I’d started out using the Ditto and then found a used Ditto X4. I wanted a dedicated stop button. I wish I had gotten the X2. It has that and it’s simplified. I’ll be making a video on all of this soon!
Yes, and that can be a bit annoying. However, it doesn't impact the specific purpose I use it for. For example, when I loop a rhythm, I'll change the the patch from rhythm to lead, but I already have that core rhythm looped. So I'll just change to my lead patch (or switch from acoustic to electric and change to my electric lead patch). Having that rhythm continuing to play makes things smoother. Hopefully that makes sense. I have another video on that process here: th-cam.com/video/RDbaCWjFblA/w-d-xo.html But yes, if you were playing in a band and had to go from rhythm to lead in the middle of a song, you'd hear that minor lag.
Awesome job mate ...... I got it as well cant beat the price and form factor ..... im not up to "mentally" to start looping things not yet comfortable with it but the tones are there just need to know the unit (just like any amp/modeler) .....great stuff mate . Also from my experience the results are dependent on the PA and what room you are using ....its not a real amp so it will be very dependent on the Play Back engine used ,sounds best through big PA's or large venues imho ....Cheers & Rock ON
@@jasonstallworth yeah i mean when i used it in a large venues 500-2000 seats with a real deal PA it was just GLORIOUS \-/ for a small gigs like pubs or coffee houses i blend the direct PA i=out and small combo amp with fx return for little extra "real" stage volume and that works great ....much like the large PA feel .....
@@Krystof.Veritae Yeah, that's where I'm at...small venues like breweries and wineries. My goal was to reduce the amount of gear needed and simplify things! As you know, the whole process of loading, setting up, tearing down, etc. is the bulk of the job!
Yeah dude, I doubt I ever go the Axe FX route for that very reason! lol And I'd still rather turn knobs that program! But the POD GO has proven to be simple although there are some limitations I'm finding, but nothing that's a deal-breaker for these types of gigs. I'm going to dial in a metal tone this week and put it out here!
Hey man, amazing video on the pod go for giging musicians I really was looking forward for buying this because it’s clean and ambiance patches are amazing and it has a revv purple amp which I love but before than I saw another type of multi fx unit called head rush gigboard and it has the same processing power of the main head rush big pedal board and has a touch screen and has a dual split signal so like u can have two amps and either mix or go out stereo and that one used is kinda the same price as the pod go new and when u were talking abt the looper it has a specific looper function build in and it’s not like the one stomp ones it has a dedicated rec/over dub and stop and clear buttons and u can go back and change patches. I’m not sponsored by them but when like u said u needed those things I thought u should check it out. Rad Ibanez man so sick
I like the idea of the pod go, but don't want to spend money on it when there is a quad cortex out there LOL. It's a pity you can't load backing tracks onto the pod go, so you can pre-record your backing tracks
I’ve some mixed reviews on the Cortex but either way, I didn’t want to pay that much. The POD Go does what I need. And I can always play backing my tracks through my PA. My board has USB capability (Mackie Profxv10)
For the looper, I don't think so but I don't use the POD Go looper...since, I bought a separate looper. It's just easier to use that way. I've got a video coming soon on that
I am awaiting my PODgo and 505MKii delivery from Sweetwater. Excited. Great playing/video. Subbed.

very cool, make your channel with what ya do, im always watching. i take your tips and i create my own songs

Jason I think there is a way on the PodGo to toggle 6-button looper, which should give you some more buttons, including stop.
Thank you…I need to check that out! But I think the issue would then be that I’d have to click out of the looper function mode to click the overdrive pedal and I’m trying to avoid multiple clicks, if that makes sense.
@@jasonstallworth You could get a momentary auxillary switch and map the OD to that.

I do love some Satch!
Congrats for successful premiere. Maybe it is a question of time & practice to become friends with looper function. It is a little tricky.
It definitely requires practice but I think I’m always going to want that for dedicated one-click stop. Much easier when you’re singing and playing

Hey Jason to achieve the best acoustic tone on pod go you will want to get an “Acoustic IR”
