This reminds me of 1979, I spent 3.5 months living in the mountains with two other friends. We crossed the length of the pacific crest trail in the Sierra's. What an adventure and we barely lost much weight. The food sources were plentiful. And the hunting in the wilderness was fantastic. The deer and elk were worth taking. But that elk cost us a lot of time drying out jerky. Luck was with us we found a salt deposit near by the next day.

All your videos are awesome, Joe. I watch a lot more winter bushcraft vids than any other. Namely because I like camping in the winter because it's easier to get warm than to get cool and no bugs... Methinks that may account for your increase in viewers. And it's preferable to us GearHeads! We need more sophisticated gear in winter. And yes fires are much more enjoyable in winter. Also you can carry a couple days worth of food and the perishables won't go bad because it's cold. In the warmer months you have to pack a cooler & lots of ice if you want to disappear for a few days. Unless you just take nonparishables like dehydrated meals & oats.

Another awesome vid, Joe at it again! Avid camper here, but trying to transition to solo backpacking/bushcraft. I realize I know virtually nothing but taking every bit of knowledge I can from your vids. Super entertaining content and able to pick up tidbits from someone who knows what they're doing. Win win, thanks!!
