- Today you get to see me rip apart an Xbox One Slim to check the disc drive. I give super detailed instructions so if you need help getting one of these open this video should help. Let me know in the comments if I could of been more helpful or if you have any questions.

This is a pretty legit breakdown, not a fan of skipping thru shit that could potentially chip away at my console wich is covered perfectly here, so thankyou for the info. Edit: Buhhht, my issue is that my son spilled orange juice in the fan, took it apart to clean but when reassembled it turns on for a split sec.. If anyone can help, Please.. Im all dumbo ears..
This video Rocks! My kids system has been jamming for almost a year where we had to push the disc and and pry it out. Then I accidentally dropped it! The disc no longer ejected not even manually. So I watched some videos, and this one helped the most. Opened it up following your steps to discover a small pencil eraser top (metal part) mangled in the corner! Carefully slid it towards the disc opening and yanked it out. The disc drive now works like new! Great video again! Thanks a bunch. I almost went out and bought a new one. smh
I have a disc stuck in there with some sticky stuff on the little circile in the center and its stuck hopefully this works and great video

Thanks for the vid. Teeth of a gear appears to have snapped off so they aren’t turning fully. Great vid straight forward the only problem is the frame, some of what you did was out of screen so I had to figure it out but I got there in the end thanks 👍

Hi mate great video, very detailed. My Xbox one S is a couple of months out of warranty now and I have only recently tried to play Blu Rays (4K and 1080p) and the picture pixelates and then freezes about halfway during the movie. Do you think it link to the hardware or is it software related? I tried cleaning the cache and even did a full reset but the issue remains. Games on discs seem to install with no issue.
The Xbox One S does have some known software glitches in the bluray app. Make sure your software is all the way up to date. Also make sure all your video settings match what your TV is capable of displaying. Does the fan kick up when you get video glitches that would be a sign of overheating causing calculation errors in the video.
Had to get a disc out because it just stopped working all the sudden but thanks for the video

I'm repair a xbox one s for a neighbor and the small band broke on the optical drive. The band that is attached to the motor. Is their a place that just sell the bands or do I to buy a replacement drive?
My Xbox one s doesn’t seem to even spin the disk. I can hear it sounds like it’s reading or something but not spinning and it doesn’t even say I don’t have the game in unless I manually click on it. Do u think the whole drive needs to be replaced?

So I have a question I have a game that will not play and the disk isn't scratched and I'm at my witts end with the damn thing. It plays other disks that are definitely scratched but will not play this one disc. So I just started to play other games for a while and then just yesterday I thought to try it again and it actually started to download and then played it for several hours. And then today for some reason now it is doing the same thing, it's not reading my disc it keeps popping up saying that insert disc. If you could help me or give me any kind of tip so I don't have to take my Xbox apart or throw it against the wall cuz that's what I feel like doing with it right now I would much appreciate any tips please I've literally tried alcohol on my desk, and dried it with a microfiber rag.

I found 2 credit cards in the last one I worked on. It is like Christmas but unwrapping with a screw driver. You never know what your going to find. I would love to know what thought children have when they are shoving change cards toys paperclips and 3 discs into a system. Lol

@@gh0st640 HDMI ports are fixable. You will want to find a company near you who does micro solder work. Check computer repair shops. I fix a lot of HDMI ports and the price runs from $100 to $160. I believe most places will fall within those values. Also, all HDMI ports are the same process to fix so if you want to see one in a video check out my ps4 white light of death videos. What happened to the system that broke the HDMI port?

How can you get a replacement belt on the drive
For me when it doesn’t let me put the disc in and I have too it the eject button twice and when it allows me to do it it makes a vibration sound

Take the bottom plate off the drive and put it back in. Drive mech is broken but it will sometimes allow it to slide even with the brake if you give it room by taking that plate off.

Yes the last part I put on. Just blow the system out more often to keep dust out of the drive.
I didn't disarm it but and it jiggled a lil bit and found a popsicle stick inside and I think theyre is still coins inside but I don't want to disarm it can you give me an idea of something to do from the outside?

The system would need to be disassembled. Once anything small enters the drive it will fall down into the laser slides and also get stuck to the disc retaining clip that is magnetic. If you do not trust that you can get it apart you will want to find a professional to do it for you. Also, if you try to shake the coins out you may make them hit the laser and damage it.

What would happen if you flipped that little white disk in the middle can you just flip it back
You can flip it, but while it is flipped the game disc will not spin. The white disk is actually a plastic covered magnet and that magnet sticks to the spindle under the game disc.
My brother's Drive isn't reading the games and also makes noise when you eject it and sometimes nothing at all

My disc won’t go in. It’s like when you try and put the disc in, you have to shove it In forcefully. The Xbox won’t just bring it in. And it makes a noise I can only describe as grinding when I try to pt a disc in.
Edit: I put a disc in. It read the disc and everything. My problem is I can’t eject the disc.
Grinding is not a good sign. Grinding means that a part is broken and will need to be replaced. The drive was forced at some point and more than likely the gear assembly has lost some gear teeth. The disassembly is the same as with my video but the repair will get much more difficult once you start pulling the motor and gear assembly. I would recommend finding a shop to fix this one.
What Philip head size is it
I use the Japanese Industrial standard 2.0 but the most common option is 3/32"(2.5mm) flathead. Most of the time I just have all my bits lined up from smallest to largest and just grab what looks like it fits and adjust bigger or smaller as needed. Game systems are not designed to be serviced so whatever works best for the situation. Hope this helps.

When you say stuck, do you mean that you can't insert disks or do they sound like they are not spinning once they are inside?

@@shadowqueen3950 a temp fix is to put your finger in the center of the disc so that when you insert the disc it goes in until your finger blocks it from going any further. The disc will spin a little on your finger. After about a second of blocking the feed and about the time the disc starts spinning on your finger, pull your finger out and the disc should fly into the drive and it should spin. You may have to do this every time you put a disc in.

The disc drive is the same it is getting to it that will be a pain. Xbox one X is one of the worst systems I have had to take apart. Would not recommend an X to be anyone's first dive into repairing counsels.
