Listen carefully. Right. If they talking about exstending the 7 Flushing line to Bayside and 14 street Hudson yards. They definitely need to add the 11 trains to 20 college point whitestone Queens elevated while the 7 Flushing line could definitely be extended to Bayside. The 11 trains could replace the diamond 💎/7/ while the 7 Flushing line could make Local stops.
@@omarfaruq9233 Absolutely. I'm not only talking about NYC though, but the entire metro area. There isn't even proper regional rail in an area housing something like 20 million people
In a ideal world Queens would have the biggest population by now but so much space is wasted on cemeteries and car centric infrastructure not to mention Jamaica Bay and the airports; that in our lifetimes we’ll probably never see Queens pass Brooklyn as Brooklyn grew faster in the 2020 census and even if you believe the flawed census estimates in 2022-23 queens is losing more people; but what even is more surprising is that the Bronx is losing as much population as them even though it has 1 million+ less people. Manhattan and northwestern Queens and Brooklyn are thriving because of their rezones and access to transit, the tri and quadplexes of southern Brooklyn and single family homes and duplexes that make up 70% of Queens aren’t desirable when you can live in an actual suburb. Partially why Staten Island’s population is still the same as 2020 because it doesn’t try to be both a city and a suburb while Queens does. Also factoring that North Brooklyn i.e. (everything above Atlantic Ave) is building more housing than anywhere else in the city per city reports gaining almost twice as many housing units since 2010 over second place it’s not likely Queens takes center stage to Kings.
Agreed on car-centric infrastructure but cemeteries are not a waste of space. Queens holds the vast majority of New York City residents’ remains of the last ~200 years, giving millions of families a place of remembrance and commemoration in idyllic settings in an otherwise crowded and unrelentingly urban city. The people who made this city what it is deserve that space. My family for example has been buried in Calvary Cemetery for the past 102 years and it’s one of the most important and beautiful places in New York City to me.
Definitely interested in that so called infrastructure revolution video, particularly with what should be done with rebuilt & new transit. the largest borough needs more than this
@@jaimerosado3896 though the one subway museum in Brooklyn had some amazing historical photos, i just didn’t take enough photos of the museum last time i was there
Just for the record, Queens has been the second most populated borough since before Long Island City and Astoria were rezoned. And if the density levels of the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan were lowered to that of Queens, NYC would still be the most populated city in the country, and become the second most densely populated (but still remain the most densely populated if Staten Island isn’t counted).
First of all, Z train sucks! 2) The C train to Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard, not the A train! 3) The M train to Chambers Street and 4) The G & R extends to Jamaica-179th Street instead of the E & F trains, which both goes to Jamaica Center, but on late nights, the F to 21st Street-Queensbridge and during the holidays, the F to Forest Hills-71st Avenue, so use the E train instead to Jamaica Center, 24/7
The G train has greatly improved service, but if it went to Midtown, that would change a lot. Extend the G from Court Square in a curving tunnel northwest to the F line and interlining with a stop at 21st-Queensbridge. From there into Manhattan for as far south as it can work. It's a pity the MTA leadership is so hopelessly indifferent to corruption.
Did girlie just call the 59th street bridge "The Queens Bridge?". Like what? Like i didn't know they renamed the tribouro but the 59th cannot have been renamed to "The Queens Bridge"

Wow, this video really puts into perspective what's been accomplished, lost and what is still needed.
Even with all of this they need a transit revolution like crazy but regardless
Frankly all of the New York Metropolitan area needs massive improvements to transit.
There are 7 decades of missing investment and it's showing.

@@lars7935 mainly queens tho since they are the 2nd biggest behind Brooklyn who really only have Southeastern Brooklyn as a transit desert

Not without congestion pricing 😔
The LIRR re-enters Queens at Far Rockaway
I live near the old montauck and bay ridge branch meet and every night I hear freight trains that shake my house at like 2 am when im tryna sleep
The Queenslink needs to be built; the gap in the Rockaway Line between the Fulton Avenue Line and the Queens Boulevard Subway is glaringly obvious

Why would you want to destroy tranquility? I don't want to live in Manhattan, as a Queens resident. It's nice and quiet here.

The Bronx is losing population because it’s a very high crime high drug high poverty area of NYC. (Except for riverdale)

The LaGuardia and Wagner Archives based in Long Island City has a wonderful collection of photos of Queens.

And Northern NJ please

Jamaica and Atlantic Ave should get some love as east to west roads. And even Rockaway blvd
Would it make sense to extend the M back on itself, it feels like it’s branches are a lot closer to each other compared to the other services
We would need federal funding for an infrastructure revolution. Me imagine what advocates would do for that….

Queens should get a vertical train line connecting East Bronx to East Queens. I have a youtube short of this route on my channel.
Via a Throgs neck tunnel 🤔
