Getting legally married in Morocco is quite the challenge, and sorting out all the paperwork for her to come to Canada is another hurdle, right? You definitely need an immigration lawyer to help navigate through all the red tape. I've noticed that here in the U.S., there's a ton of paperwork required for your spouse to join you. It used to take about a year, but now it's dragging on for at least three years, even for war vets who are supposed to get priority. I had a relative who was married to a retired Marine, and even her process took a whopping three years. So, what was your experience like when you were dealing with all the legal stuff for Mrs. Khan?
Yeah 100% it’s a difficult process to get legally married in Morocco. But alhamdulillah for us we did all in less than a week. For sponsoring ur partner to Canada it’s pretty straight forward. You don’t need an immigration lawyer. You can apply online and pay the fees. When your partner completes their biometrics and medical. You can apply for a visitor visa for them. This will give them permission to stay in Canada for a couple of months or longer with unlimited entry for a couple years. Meanwhile your sponsorship application should take like 13 months. After the 13 months they get their permanent residency. For USA, they’re a bit more strict for sure. But I know a guy who sponsored his Moroccan wife. It took him a little more than 1 year.
I would say we got permission from the government to do the nikkah in a couple of days from when we applied with all our documents. It depends on the city you apply at as well. And I would say like 2 weeks or less to get all the documents. Because I had to go to the Canadian embassy in Rabat ask them for the documents like on a Thursday and then the following Tuesday I picked them up. Then we got some documents stamped and then went back to Marrakech to the translator and police and all. My other friend who is Bengali Canadian it took him n his fiancée like a month to get permission for nikkah.
Mashallah!!! Congrats!! I'm going to Morroco in 1st of September to get married to my fiance who is Muslim Morrocan man and lives there. I'm american. Do you know if we can do the Islamic ceremony first and then do the legal process of marriage? I'm going to be staying there for a month to give us plenty of time for the legal process to be done. But wasn't sure if we could do one part first so I'd be able to stay with him sooner and not have the be in my own apartment or hotel the entire time the legal process takes for marriage certificate and stuff. If that makes sense? He makes it seem like we could but everywhere I look or ask they say its all the same, and we have to do legal process 1st essentially regardless
Alhamdulillah thanks so much! Wow that’s amazing mashallah. May Allah help you guys. Ameen. In my understanding, you have to do the legal process first like going to the translator, courts and all with your paperwork. After the government gives you approval then you go to an adoul, who does the civil and religious act of marriage (nikkah). You can’t do the Islamic ceremony (act of marriage or nikkah) until you get permission to do so. In terms of staying at a hotel together before marriage it’ll be tough because most ask for proof of marriage especially since one of you are Moroccan. You can try staying at airbnbs and let them know before you book that you are in the process of marriage and if it would be okay to stay with your partner. Most host are pretty chill and don’t mind. All the best and good luck!
@EatPlayTravel Shokran bazzaf!! It's okay we are both pretty set in our ways when it comes to not sleeping in the same room together until marriage anyways. That's essentially why I was asking about the process to see if we could religiously marry to make it where we could stay together until the legal part was finished. We both won't let sleeping in the same room happen without taking our oaths first. So if I have to stay alone the entire time then so be it. Lol I hear the legal process can be very exhaustive and overwhelming, tho. and take a few weeks. I have been a mess making sure I have the proper valid documents together to take with me by September so we don't have any delays Insha-allah. It will all be worth it in the end tho!!! ✨️ I hear about many successful stories of marriage processes between morrocan and foreigners tho. So I try not to worry myself over the process itself as much as I can.
@@Kungfukitty90 haha no worries! Lol that’s good. Yeah unless you do your religious ceremony in another country, I don’t think there’s another way in Morocco. Don’t worry! You’ll be set Insha’allah. Yeah for sure, there are many mixed marriages nowadays.
Hahaha yeah Alhamdulillah we got blessed. For one of my friends, it took him 1 month. I think it depends on the city too. But you’ll be good Insha’allah. Would it make more sense to have a nikah at a mosque (not registered at a government office) and then travel with her to your country and register the marriage officially there if you're both planning to live in your country?
In Morocco. All nikkahs are done like that. The adoul acts like an imam in this setting. He is also registered with the government. If you don’t get married then it’s harder to bring your partner to your country. Depends on the country but to sponsor someone either you are married or you are common law for 1 year. It’s hard to get a visitor visa and all.

To legally and Islamically get married in Morocco, the following below can be of use. This process is called Nikkah or Act of Marriage. Requirements for Foreigner: 1) Obtain necessary documents before coming to Morocco: The foreigner will need to obtain their original birth certificate, a police clearance certificate or criminal record check, job letter with annual salary, copy of national identity card (e.g. health card or immigration record), copy of certificate of residence (e.g. driver's license), from their home country. These documents will need to be certified copies, this can be done by going to a lawyer and having them stamp it to confirm it is the original copy. Furthermore, when you are in Morocco you must translate these documents into Arabic by an official translator. 2) Obtain a certificate of non-impediment: The foreigner will need to obtain a certificate of non-impediment from their embassy or consulate in Morocco, which confirms that they are legally free to marry. You also need Capacite de Mariage and Attestation de Nationalite. I got all of these from the Canadian embassy in Rabat, Morocco, but had to make an appointment one month in advance. 3) If you have been previously married, you need a certified copy of a divorce contract. 4) Copy of Passport and copy of page showing the date of entry to Morocco. 5) A contract of conversion to Islam or indicating you are originally muslim. For a foreign man to marry a Moroccan women legally and Islamically in Morocco, he needs to be muslim and show proof that he is. Sometimes your name or passport can help (for example my Pakistani passport stated my religion). 6) When in Morocco, you need another criminal record check by the local police, a medical certificate, and about 10 recent passport-sized photos of yourself. Requirements for Moroccan (Local): 1) A full copy of birth certificate. 2) Criminal record check. 3) A copy of divorce fee or divorce judgement if there was a previous marriage. 4) Copy of national identification card. 5) Medical certificate. 6) Engagement Certificate. 7) About 10 recent passport-sized photos of yourself. Once you have all these documents and translated, you can go to an Adoul and they will help you with getting married both legally and Islamically. If you are in Marrakesh, check out this translator (Traducteur Mouatassim), he is really helpful. That should be all! Wish you all the best insha'allah. I see. Can be any group of people not just Moroccans. But yo I’m trying to move there. Lots of people are leaving western countries too. Times are changing.
@@EatPlayTravel True the West is expensive and culture has gone done the drain
Yeah bro exactly. The East way better

Sketchy as f... The bloke dressed for hid wedding whereas the female...say no more
I’m wearing traditional Pakistani outfit with Peshawari sandals. If you don’t like don’t watch. No need to be a retard and so ugly. This is a nikkah. In our wedding ceremony we wore traditional Moroccan and Pakistani outfits.
@@EatPlayTravel I can see you were suitably dressed.
I drop you message on your Instagram
Waiting for your positive response
