I have the perfect setup of you I recently removed the mid muffler off of my 4.0 V6(vq40) and kept the stock resonator to eliminate the drone it sounded very similar to your Merc but it wasn't enough, it was annoying on the highway because it sounded cheap and raspy so i ordered a 13 inch Magnaflow (12266) mid muffler from amazon, and now my v6 sounds like a v8 with a nice deep rumble at idle and it gets loud when i step on it its literal perfection..... (Magnaflow muffler serial number 12266) if you want to take a look online, these mid mufflers are known world wide to make your v6 sound deep and grunty meanwhile improving airflow, you'll not be disappointed. ❤

Use a chambered exhaust muffler to achieve the sound you desire. You’ll have a decent sound at lower RPM’s and a sporty one when you rev it! Go for a branded chambered exhaust.
U can buy a valvetronic muffler that will element the vibration and the high pitch interior sound + safe u from cops because u can turn off the valve it will turn back to stock

If you want no voice at lower rpms just put a chambered exhaust it kills voice in lower rpm but in higher rpms it gives a great voice❤❤
