For the 450 can we get an idea of how hard it is to separate one of the “claws” bc that’s the true essence of what holds that oddity together lol. Gonna grab that wallet and pair it with my desert snoots, thanks for the video man!
450s upper and sole are heat welded together without any glue. When you look on the inside, the two components aren't just fused with cement, they are molten into one material. I recon one theoretically could separate the upper from the sole only by ripping the sock like fabric where the parts meet. Construction on these is really interesting.

I wore these exact boots for a whole winter and almost 6 inches of snow. They were very warm and kept my feet very dry. Way better than some timberlands
I did actually own a pair of these for a while. They were very very warm and were great in the winter. The main reason I got rid of them was the fact that the sizing is way off on these, also the suede itself isn’t very durable (very open celled and fluffy), wore down very quick. They also weigh a ton and are oddly shaped, they force you to walk funny.
After you're done with the Yepril I think it would be cool to see you analyse motorcycle boots, considering people often get work boots for protection, and vice versa - get the most work boot-looking motoboot.
I’ve somehow ended up wearing Harley-Davidson Woodridge mid-length…pseudo-boots, I guess I would call them. HD doesn’t mess around with their materials, but 8-12 hours a day in them is something I wouldn’t recommend (even though the shoe is billed as “athletic”??), and then you will also be facing an odor issue so fast it’ll make your head spin. Before these my go-to were the Skechers Crankton, but the only problem there is those have no slip resistance whatsoever….
The moment I understood the importance of a proper, protective boot was when I lightly dropped the bike on my ankle and dislocated it. Haven't felt it until I got back on the bike. Went and bought high Icon boots that very day...
I wore these for 3 days, ~10 hours a day on snowy mountain trails. Only leaked water for the final day, and not that much. After wearing them for the trip and 100+ hours more casually the heel counter seems to be the biggest problem with those.
you have to compare the new yeezy samples based on red wing boots if they ever actually drop, i'd be interested in seeing how tough those are. and like others have noted, there are two versions of this boot and you have the cheaper to produce adidas model. i've heard the yeezy season version of the boots are made with nicer materials and fit very different from friends who own them and the adidas ones.

I bought these back in the fall & they've basically been my everyday shoes ever since (I live in Wisconsin, where it's cold everyday except June-August lol). They are definitely more for looks, it sort of reminds me of the Jordan 10s shape-wise. I do believe Kanye made some prior to joining Adidas, so there are some out there that retailed for I think $400, without the Adidas branding & they go by European sizing. This video makes me wonder if those are constructed the same as well & if they're made with higher quality. All in all, I'm glad these boots don't go for too much over retail, I believe I only paid like $30 over retail price. The 700 Waverunners are my favorite Yeezys, basically my everyday shoes when it's warm. Lol
@@shape8198 The Yeezy Season 7 boots are the same model as these, just that they weren't made by Adidas. Which is why I was wondering if there are any differences in quality & construction. There are comparison videos on TH-cam saying that the Season 7s are better quality, heavier, higher cut, etc. Just wondering if that's true about the quality.
@@C0ID They're still good. I haven't even cleaned them or anything, but after wearing them through the Fall & Winter, they don't even look dirty. I tend to replace my Timberlands boots every year just because they seem to get dirty really fast & they're hard to clean, but with these Yeezy boots, I haven't felt like that yet.
I love the look of various desert boot choices out there. I prefer a side zipper just for the convenience of putting on and taking off. I have a pair of OKIY side zipper I bought online. Absolutely hate them. I paid like $70 range. Wearing out in about 6 months. I guess you get what you pay for. If you would do a comparison of this boot type would be great.
So just speaking as someone who spends a lot of time in desert boots that fill this particular niche I'd say the only real red flag is the Foam ankle support and foam tongue fill. Desert assault style boots are generally supposed to be more like sneakers with added ankle support than work boots. They aren't supposed to be waterproof, they aren't supposed to be insulated, they need to have a very abrasion resistant outsole, and they need to be lightweight. Because they are designed to be light, durable, and breathable. I would still take my Oakley assault boots with the outsole vents over these, but just wanted to clarify why they aren't like a pair of redwings or logging boots.
Why can't we just call these what they are, " psudo tactical high top sneakers ". I don't care what brand it is, If it uses sneaker materials and construction it's not a boot. Maybe a slightly tougher than normal high top sneaker, but not a boot. Not to take away from what ever it may be good for, it's just not a boot.
@@TylerSnyder305 The thing is, it's not like sneakes either. Much too heavy to be one. I spent a lot of time in boots in my old job. Although I agree these are less "boot-y" than proper boots, these definitely land more on the boot end than the sneaker end. Then again, my pair is from the Yeezy Season 7 release, not Adidas like the one shown in the video. Apparently they are very different to those that owns both.
@@TylerSnyder305 Or a light boot haha. At the end of the day, this is a hybrid. One or the other, it doesn't matter. The Air Force 1s isn't a plane just because of its name.
@@armtc Nah, it looks like a sneaker not a boot, is constructed like a sneaker not a boot, and is made of sneaker materials not boot materials. I fail to see how it is in any way a boot, hybrid or otherwise. It's just a heavier sneaker, theres nothing wrong with that though, and it's okay to accept that this just isn't a boot.
Thank you thank you thank you I really appreciate you doing this video I literally just bought these boots like two weeks ago and I absolutely love them I think the rubber on them is incredible and I think the leather‘s all right but I do like them I didn’t watch the video yet so Hopefully I’m right and they are good boots
3:57 Flame resistance would actually matter a lot for its intended market or at least supposedly intended market a lot of military gear for infantry guys is FR because they would often times come across IED and clothing melting to their skin would cause horrendous amounts of damage
I’d love to see the yeezy season 4 military boot cut in half I have a pair of them and I’ve always been curious about the structure and what not because of how expensive they were before resell.
Hello sir! I enjoy all your videos and am a big sneaker head. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed these dissections of yeezy’s. I was wondering if you were considering doing any 500’s high or lows, or 380’s are what I’m most interested in after the 350 and 700. I guess the boot is like a 500 high.. The slide and foam runner are kinda straightforward. Anyway, thank you for the content!! You’re doing great work!
It’s literally the shape of a desert boot. There is no such thing as a dessert boot. That sounds like some snobbishness that would be worn by royalty when eating dessert.
tbh, i only buy full leather boots. Might sound dumb or old fashioned, but my corcorans are still my favorite and most durable boot. Very comfortable once broken in too.
Weston, I really like your products. I bought a Claude wallet 5 years ago and it has aged well. The patina is great. I had a question. I bought a leatherman case for a multi tool and it is good leather but the thread quality and stitching is terrible. The stitching started breaking apart within a month. I would love to ship it to you and redo it with your higher quality thread. Any thoughts?
You acted like the sand a cactus tests were silly, but that's two major reasons I wear boots (%90 of the time) instead of sneakers. Getting sand or worse cheatgrass in your boots is miserable, as is cactus in your foot. Regardless of the "desert" title, those are very legitimate ways to test for a well designed boot. 👍
True, but anything could be a good measurement depending on where you live. If you live in a country/area with cactuses and lots of sand that would be a good test, while it would completely pointless if you live in a cold snowy country.
Hey you really have to make a shoe/sneaker/non-boot ranking video because if you search anywhere on the internet you'll only find videos with hyped overpriced garbage mostly??? So easy to get lost or buy trash. Please thank you
ok so these weren't meant to be used in crazy condions because it's really just a shoe that looks like a boot. It's not a real boot it's a stylish boot for sneaker heads
anyone buying these as anything other than a fashion boot is severely missing the point of these. i love the way they look tho i'd love to see a breakdown of the yeezy combat, military, or crepe boot
I must say these look great but are probably the most uncomfortable shoe I’ve ever worn. The angled rear pushes your foot forward and crushes your toes in the front. When walking you have a big space in the back making it an uncomfortable experience. Shame because these look very stylish but not that wearable
Wait THAT THING is supposed to be a desert boot?? I wouldn't take something with that much cloth outside on a windy day, who on earth would even try to wear those around sand????
I’d love to see a video (or videos) covering the highest build quality casual sneakers and boots. Like “top 5-10 highest quality casual sneakers”, and “top 5-10 highest quality casual boots” (And I’m more interested in reasonably priced. Not so much an $800 all leather sneaker. I’m talking more standard athletic/comfortable sneaker like new balance, Nike, adidas, rather than some super high end dress shoe sneaker)
Could you do a review on the Adidas 5.10’s? They’re made to be a mountain biking shoe so a mud test, a water test, some scrape/scuff tests, some sort of grip test, and general torture testing would probably be good.
Hi Rose Anvil, please do cut in half the New Balance 550s, they are becoming people's fav recently and really interesting to find out if they're equivalent in material quality

This mash on this boot is actually awesome oldschool mesh with awesome breathability.
@@armtc
Heavy sneakers then.
Still not a real boot.
@@TylerSnyder305 Or a light boot haha. At the end of the day, this is a hybrid. One or the other, it doesn't matter. The Air Force 1s isn't a plane just because of its name.
@@armtc
Nah, it looks like a sneaker not a boot, is constructed like a sneaker not a boot, and is made of sneaker materials not boot materials.
Don't get why suede jackets are so expensive then
You gotta do a pair of Rick Owens leather Ramones
3:57 Flame resistance would actually matter a lot for its intended market or at least supposedly intended market a lot of military gear for infantry guys is FR because they would often times come across IED and clothing melting to their skin would cause horrendous amounts of damage
Bro, no one in the military is wearing cheap plastic Kanye West slave shoes for combat
@@figsaregood You would be surprised
Wore mine when it snowed pretty bad and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase
I’d love to see the yeezy season 4 military boot cut in half I have a pair of them and I’ve always been curious about the structure and what not because of how expensive they were before resell.
What if I was standing in on hot concrete for a few hours in in Las Vegas or something or LA , would the outsole melt?
I love the sense of humor in these videos.
I have a pair of the 450s and I was wondering how they attach the mid sole to the upper sock layer. Awesome video!
Another informative video. Hope NB blesses you with a Protection Pack or 992's. That would be amazing and ground breaking!
I've always felt the Yeezy Desert Boots, aesthetically, look like a boot you could get at Payless.
I’d love to see this with the yeezy nsltd boot! Such a good series!
I'm just gonna say it, they called it a dessert boot because of the colorway not the usage
That’s just incorrect
You're also supposed to keep them dry
Gore-tex + Boost + Reflective 3M will make these better
You acted like the sand a cactus tests were silly, but that's two major reasons I wear boots (%90 of the time) instead of sneakers. Getting sand or worse cheatgrass in your boots is miserable, as is cactus in your foot. Regardless of the "desert" title, those are very legitimate ways to test for a well designed boot. 👍
True, but anything could be a good measurement depending on where you live. If you live in a country/area with cactuses and lots of sand that would be a good test, while it would completely pointless if you live in a cold snowy country.
@@futurew0782 🤔 Typically deserts have sand and cactus.... last I checked.
DO YEEZY FOAM RUNNERS NEXT!!
Hey you really have to make a shoe/sneaker/non-boot ranking video because if you search anywhere on the internet you'll only find videos with hyped overpriced garbage mostly??? So easy to get lost or buy trash. Please thank you
Would love to see some classic Ralph Lauren Polo boots cut open. I had several pairs in the 90s to mid 2000s and they were great casual boots.
I love military "boots" from Aliexpress. They are cheap, comfortable, cool looking, and absolute garbage.
ok so these weren't meant to be used in crazy condions because it's really just a shoe that looks like a boot. It's not a real boot it's a stylish boot for sneaker heads
anyone buying these as anything other than a fashion boot is severely missing the point of these. i love the way they look tho
i'd love to see a breakdown of the yeezy combat, military, or crepe boot
This channel is great for what not to buy.
For the 450’s could you do the puncture test too?
I used to have a pair of Yeezy season 3 boots which is Kanye’s luxury label. They felt really premium and I was hoping you could cut those in half.
I must say these look great but are probably the most uncomfortable shoe I’ve ever worn. The angled rear pushes your foot forward and crushes your toes in the front. When walking you have a big space in the back making it an uncomfortable experience. Shame because these look very stylish but not that wearable
I started a blue collar job and My first thought was getting these then I realized steel toe really saves you from some horrible accidents
Wait THAT THING is supposed to be a desert boot?? I wouldn't take something with that much cloth outside on a windy day, who on earth would even try to wear those around sand????
You'd almost think it was built for hypebeasts and street culture doofuses with way too much disposable income on them.
I’d love to see a video (or videos) covering the highest build quality casual sneakers and boots.
Like “top 5-10 highest quality casual sneakers”, and “top 5-10 highest quality casual boots”
(And I’m more interested in reasonably priced. Not so much an $800 all leather sneaker. I’m talking more standard athletic/comfortable sneaker like new balance, Nike, adidas, rather than some super high end dress shoe sneaker)
Recently got a pair of 450 for my wife, so I’m definitely looking forward to your assessment. She loves them btw!
@curtisinhouston I'd never buy the boot, but a Yeezy scrap wallet could make a great gift. Awesome content as always, thanks!
Nike, Oakley, rocky c4, and the ever popular amongst new recruits....Blackhawks. Compare these to standard issue. Would be a great episode.
Can’t believe the out soles were that thin! I was super shocked!
Came for the shoe. Fell in love with that wallet. Bouta buy one today.
These are the first shoe/ "boot" he has made that I kinda like.
Man i have no words, whaat an amazing chanel. Props to you.
As a armored crew member, Combat and Mechanics (Recovery Vehicle Crew) we are pushed to wear leather boots up to 8 inches.
Could you do a review on the Adidas 5.10’s? They’re made to be a mountain biking shoe so a mud test, a water test, some scrape/scuff tests, some sort of grip test, and general torture testing would probably be good.
got the salts and in hand beautiful so stylish recommend
I am a big Lebron shoe collector. So, it'd be fun to see you dissect a Lebron shoe, old or new, preferably both.
BROOO! Can't wait for the 450 video! Still haven't been able to get my hands on a pair so idk what to look for. 🤷♂️
Can’t wait to see the 450 video, it’s such an interestingly constructed shoe
Hi Rose Anvil, please do cut in half the New Balance 550s, they are becoming people's fav recently and really interesting to find out if they're equivalent in material quality
“Not ironic enough to be iconic so not iconic enough to be ironic.” That’s a bar
Fun fact this is the adidas cheap re make of the boot, the original boot is heavier and made in Italy with better material
Hey man great video I think it would be really fascinating to watch you cut into some fake boots/sneakers that have done well and see the differences in quality. Love the content 🤠
Hey rose anvil, you guys should do a leather jacket series! Cheers!
Man that boot at 7:43 looked so nice
Very!
