That was an…interesting choice of music to play with this footage. I’ve never had much of an interest in attending the tournament, but after seeing the course accompanied by that soundtrack, I now feel strangely compelled to make sweet sweet love to Augusta National. Gonna be some odd dreams tonight.
I hear a number of people are telling Tiger to retire? Sure he played bad last week, but so did other younger, more healthier players?! Im not a big Tiger fan, but seriously, just him being in the field, if hes ok, makes the whole tournament better?! He should take it in stride and as a thank you to the fans for thier support thru all his personal problems and enjoy the moments?!!!
Always imagined place was in the middle of nowhere... not a strip mall across the road. And thought the drive in would be a lot longer. Pretty disappointing
Yeah it was a really bright day and I picked the worst light to really show the deep greens and blues of the sky. Just shows time of day really makes your video pop. Thanks so much as always
This video reminds us that Augusta is not so much a golf course as a TV set. It's closed for several months per year. They do that to allow for the sort of manicuring and course management you see in this video plus they do it to preserve the look of the fairways. The club has only about 300 members. Not much golf is played there. It's unreal. And it's a rather ordinary looking course. To the extent that it's 'beautiful,' it's contrived. Artificial. The bunker sand isn't local--they truck it in, from South Carolina, I think. They like that bright white quartz-rich sand from out of state. Most holes have just one or two bunkers. The pine bedding you see in the woods is also artificial. They place that there. They spray paint the brown parts of the fairways. They shave and pluck and prune every blade of grass around the greens, even on the downslopes into the water hazards. It's too much.
As soon as I saw that Lone tree I said "yep, there's #11". How stupid that out of ALL those trees, I only needed to see 1 to get myself orientated 😂😂😂 too crazy
9 and 18 greens look like temp greens up on the hill. The amount of trees they cut at Augusta country club to redo their 9th hole after Augusta Nationla bought the land to extend the 13th tee is ridiculous. I played there the year Adam Scott won and there was a forest there, now its just grass going down their hill to Rae's creek! Actually the par 5 that goes down hill to Rae's creek at Augusta CC is a great hole!
Just goes to show the difference between when the club is closed and when it isn't, and how much restorative work they do between late May and early October.
Hey there, I just made a little video using your video because I thought it was such a cool perspective on Augusta, but I made sure to put a link to your video on it. Is that fine with you? I can just take it down if you’re not alright right with it. Incredible video, blew my mind as I’d never thought the surroundings of it looked like that. They do such a good job of preventing you from seeing the surrounding terrain.
There are so many buildings and properties on the site, it would be so interesting to know what they are. There are like entire residential streets. Are these just what Augusta has purchased? Why?
Did you have to get special permission from the club house to fly there? I'm wanting to fly there. My aunt used to live directly across from the entrance to the club house
No I took off from a near by strip mall and flew over it on a Saturday I believe in early summer ...I flew above 275 feet and prayed my drone didn't crash on the property as I 'd never get it back lol
I'm shocked that they gave you permission to fly over their intensely private property. I would have thought they would immediately deny your request. Great shots!
Crazy how even with the nd32 your shots get washed out sometimes, must've been really bright time of day/no clouds. Did you have to get LAANC clearance for this shoot? I love Augusta, figured they'd be pretty anti-drone, but if not that's really awesome. Great shots!
Thanks I am mad at myself because I could have take the aperture down to f4.0 and not blown out the highlights but I was so excited about flying over that amazing golf course I did take care of all the details.
The sheer amout of re fgrading/turning they do everyyear on certain holes seems ridiculous. When I was there 10 years ago, and looked up the 13th tee of National from fence at Augusta CC old 9th hole, the 13th fairway looked like a muni in June! It was all burnt out. I assume they can't have summer bermuda because spring and fall would not be good enough conditions. Seems so sad you basically can't play it in the summer and they shut it down!
do people not play the course the rest of the year? I know they are working all year towards the masters but the course isn't playable as it is so I'm curious. What exactly are members paying for? The sake of being a member?
@@mc4240 Not really peak season in Augusta, it’s disgustingly hot during that time of year and the type of grass Augusta uses pretty much goes dormant then.
@@Pontiac2001GT I think they over seed with rye on the fairway and rough with a bermuda base. but the greens are bent grass which is not designed for the summer heat. It is really a cool season grass but bermuda will not roll fast enough for them.
@@mc4240It’s actually closed for 4 months,End of May thru the end of September when it’s really hot and humid,The Augusta membership is a little different in the sense that most of them are out of state members and are members at clubs where they actually live,It’s not particularly expensive to be a member at Augusta National but if you’re invited to join your already very wealthy,They make all their money from the Masters with last year bringing in a profit of over $150 million which is why the membership is cheap compared to other prominent clubs,They also don’t rip the patrons off during the tournament with concession prices being very reasonable like their famed Pimento Cheese or Egg Salad Sandwiches at $2.00 and the Chicken Salad Sandwich $3.00 when other big tournaments charge at least $25 for a basic sandwich and soda……
Looks like they ripped a lot of fairway up on 13th and 17th. I know they do this every year to fix up sections with fresh grass but I think ultimately it ruins the originality of Augusta. Augusta is like a copy paste of what it used to be like. It's never gonna have that originality feel to it. It's become more fashion designed over the years to suit the era

Lol interesting
Music had me mesmerized
It is amazing how close everything is together. When you watch it on TV it looks so isolated.
It is definitely and old school walking course when it as built you can tell
I love how they’re not afraid to show it under work during the year because they know come April it will be absolutely pristine and perfect
Yeah apparently they work on it every year
@@TheKCflys they’re constantly changing parts of it and always updating
Strange that from the air, it looks like your local muni. 🙃
Cause drone pilot and edit are weak. This could be anyplace in the south. There are better versions of this out there.
Probably so..but it's just the way that CBS makes it look like the promise land every year...anything else is a letdown.
Also, looks like in other ordinary GC!!

The late 90's cable porn music makes this video.
Sounds like Weather Channel local forecast music
Very cool to see especially the entrance. Right beside a damn CVS! Takes some of the mystique away
That is not the entrance. Magnolia Lane is farther down Washington Rd. sandwiched between the driving range and the Par Three course.
Always imagined place was in the middle of nowhere... not a strip mall across the road. And thought the drive in would be a lot longer. Pretty disappointing
Nice flying and music match! Yes, the colors were a little washed out, but it added to the calm and relax vibe of the clip. 👍👍👍

Hi, can tell me the music you are playing. I love it.
Grover Washington Jr is the artist song is Make Me a Memory from the album Winelight I think you will enjoy the entire album

bold move!
Thanks
Super cool 🤝🤟🏼😎
Appreciate that sir!!!
Amazing.
Thanks!
We need a new update as the masters is just around the corner 😃
Lol I will try to get one soon I am sure it's changed a bit since 2022

It's in public airspace above approximately 85 feet. TFRs are issued when the sporting venues are active, such as the tournament.
