I was up in london last week and took the No 46 bus from St Barts to Paddington. I counted 31 yes 31 people on their phones in the one hour and 20min journey, absolutely appalling
And the police are doing absolutely feck all to combat or catch these people, why isn't there a special police force set up but undercover doing exactly what Mikey is doing,
Yeah, it makes an amazing difference. The bummer is that the worst drivers also have the worst observational skills, and so they don't change their behaviour because they don't even notice our cameras.
Stay safe out there Dan. Its like people I see driving in front of me with big dashcams you can see from behind their rear window. Hopefully makes drivers aware. I have a unnoticeable camera mainly so it's not a target for thieves
In my car, I have placed the front dashcam just below the rear view mirror so people behind can see it through the tinted windows. By pure coincidence, 99.5% of tailgaters have stopped tailgating.
I have a front and rear dashcam fitted in my car. I have noticed if I am being tailgated and they see the rear cam they suddenly back off! So my cameras must be contributing to road safety as well.
@@PedroConejo1939 agree. I'd admit, if I got a warning letter that would deter me as I don't want to waste money on a fine and especially have points which will stay on my license for about 3 years and increase my insurance premiums

Yes it is,but apparently you can get away with it in London, we all know from the news that the met.police are dodgy at the best of times, one has just been caught selling drugs out the back door,I don't know who is worst the met or the criminal's
A warning letter? He must have used that smile on the police too. I'm not sure what is worse, people who know the rules and try to hide the phone, or people like this guy who clearly don't know the rules.
I just got a parcel delivery from a guy in a Landcruiser. Only way I can think he can afford that is to not have it commercially insured. Could be that his van broke down of cause and this is a hire car.
Sadly the court systems are backed up. In the eyes of the police this is now a trivial offence. Warning letters sent out and their number plate kept on record (they can then just get rid of the car and That warning letter is useless). Too many phone drivers out there that it’s just become normalised. Not enough police or cameras and even if they do prosecute them drivers can appeal and claim “exceptional hardship”. They don’t care and not even increased insurance premiums is going to stop them in future.
. . . How are they unable to fund NEW dept's to deal with these matters - its literally thousands of £'s in fines coming in, for very little physical outlay - and is just manpower . . . . of which I'm sure theres 'dinghy loads' of new visitors, happily prepared to work Min-wage toscr3w over some Brits, for money
After your judgemental comments on the shoplifter it seems you make that kind of speculative judgemental comment on others regularly. He was on his phone that’s wrong but your other remarks were unnecessary and making unfounded allegations you had no grounds for . I suggest you look to how you’d feel if someone made comments on your other role and made offensive speculative remarks based on no evidence. I can’t countenance your rigidity of outlook. Another one let off,I'm thinking of moving to London, looks like you can get away with talking on your phone in the car, maybe the met.are so busy, bless um ,I got caught once on the Calne by pass,£100 fine 3 points serves me right I know, but I did curse my boss,he called me 5 times knowing full well I was driving,if the met police were to fine more of these law breakers, maybe they wouldn't need so much of the tax payers money,I just want a simple answer, why are these drivers let off?
@@adrianhowell968 I personally wouldn't Adrian. Live in North london. Seems there is a lack of respect from people and common sense. Roads are busier which sadly encourages bad driving. I started taking the train and it always seems that some of the london stations have more anti social people especially kids getting on it compared to stations outside london. The type of people coming to London I'll directly say seem to be more illiterate. This is just my observations by the way and it might differ for you though london has gone downhill over the past 10 to 15 years. I personally want to move out 😂
The idea that anyone anywhere could video you any time takes all the fun out of anti-social driving. The sense of paranoia really eats away at you. 150,000 video allegations made across England and Wales in the last year, most were prosecuted.
You're a very immature little boy. You can't quite grasp proportionality. Would I report someone on the phone, absolutely. Would I report someone for dropping litter, no but I'd have a word with them.
You're right, I'm definitely not the police. I'm just a civilian witness. If I do something wrong, I'm fine with being reported. Unlike you, I'll own the responsibility. I'm sure Peter you have seen how the standard of driving has dropped especially since covid lockdown. Some drivers are downright dangerous that us the public have to take action. Sadly with police cuts this we can't just rely on them
I've once witnessed a phone related accident, one car written off and two shaken occupants. The woman who rear ended them and came out still clutching her phone saying, ''I'm OK I'm OK no need to call the police!'' We need more Mikeys on the road, and your opinion holds zero value regarding road safety. Such attitudes from people commenting on this channel suggest you condone phone drivers. Pro tip: if the actual police uses evidence footage to go after phone drivers, it's because it's fully legal to do so. You guarantee stuff without explaining what is it that you guarantee 😏🎻
Anyone can report traffic offences like this. I'm not making any laws, I'm just a witness. I use social media to spread the word about how many people illegally use their phones whilst driving, to make you worried about being caught yourself, and to encourage other citizens to also report traffic offences. Social media lets me reach millions of drivers and change the ways of some of them. Direct reporting gives me the chance to change the ways of only a couple of hundred drivers a year.
Oh Andrea! Please get some remedial driving lessons. That's entirely normal and legal. How embarrassing for you. TBH I'm a bit shocked at how many drivers like you don't know anything about this. It's a little frightening to think that you drive amongst us with such ignorance.

I thought use of hand held phone while driving was an automatic fine and points on licence. Why now are warnings given? Is this a change in policy?
@ericreckless541 it depends on how lazy the Met are feeling.

New V5C issued about 12 months later, and now SORNd?
