There are so many treatments these days. It’s gone from 3 options to 13 in a decade. I have MS and I know people who have gone 20 years without a flare up. I’ve gone 7 years without a flare up since my diagnosis.
I didn't know there is hope for a better quality of life for those who suffer with MS. You are an inspiration! Your post made me smile. Keep strong and take care. One love.
@@DiveInbluebucket The disease is different for different people. My Doctor told me he has treated people who look like pro-athletes for MS and they take Tysabri like me. The key is to do treatment early and regularly after you have a confirmed diagnosis. It is tough for people in the US who don't have good health insurance as oppose to Canada or the UK with government funded healthcare and treatment.

@@jeannieluna3009 oh the stories about my late husband before he was diagnosed with MS. They're even funnier after the diagnosis before he passed away. One night, he & I were watching TV after the girls had gone to bed. The show was over so we turned off the TV so we could go to bed. I walked into the kitchen & I heard him screaming & this big shattering at the same time. He had lost his balance, I don't know *HOW MANY TIMES IN A DAY,* but that time, he lands through the glass coffee table!! 48 staples to the cheek & I was picking up shards of glass until the day we moved out of that little apartment. He passed away 4yr later. At the hospital, (I am an RN), but didn't work at that hospital, they literally called the police up there!! My husband was 6'3"! I couldn't have done anything to him if it meant it was going to save my life. Other than 1 thing & it had been established that *NOBODY* had been shot! Once the police heard the story & talked to my husband, they finally decided that I was a harmless person!!

I was diagnosed in 2020 and it has been brutal..I'm no longer working due to dizziness and balance issues. I applaud Ms. Applegate on her bravery in sharing her journey. 🙏🏽👏🏾

My mom was diagnosed at 50. She is 68 now. Thankfully she's only had mild symptoms all these years. Mostly fatigue and some balance issues sometimes. For a long time (10 + years) she took daily shots. Prayers.

I agree on appreciation for actresses talking about MS. I have MS diagnosed on 2013. I took several types of pills but ended up with Ocrevus which became a real game changer. 😊
I was dx in November 2020. You’re among friends. No one understands Like s fellow MSer! Your friends and family can’t understand ;because you still look like you . Google MS SOCIETY. Wealth of information there l! Google MS Navigator , join the MS SOCIETY. Lots of friends who know what you’re experiencing. Lean on them

My heart goes out to her, my aunt got diagnosed w MS a few years ago and fought a tough battle sadly she passed away in 2019 unexpectedly. Will be keeping Christina in my prayers
There are different types. My sister was diagnosed more than 25 years ago. They gave her some medication but it made her real sick. Basically she gets debilitating headaches and will spend a day in bed once in a while. She's still active and hasn't lost her ability to walk. Still very strong

I also have MS. Diagnosed 1997. Was the scariest time of my life! Treatment has come along way since then. I had to except this disease and make peace with it. Symptoms are different for everyone. I try every day not to dwell on the negative and remember how lucky I am compared to some. Not being in control of my body is the hardest to accept. My husband and family have been such a great support. Stay strong, Christina and get on one of the many great treatments available now. You Got This Girl! 🙏❤️

It’s weird how when you’re young you see young celebrities with you and as you grow older you realize all the hard things they go through. You’d never thought they’d go through so many challenges. I grew up watching her as Kelly Bundy in Married with Children. It is so sad what she’s going through.
So many live with MS, my step grandmother did and she passed in 97 after being diagnosed 3 years earlier and there wasn’t really promising treatments back then, Clay Walker has MS, Selma Blair as well, just to name a couple and Clay created the Charity BAND Against MS and he’s been living with MS for 25 years after being diagnosed in 96 and he does many things to keep active on and off the road, including lifestyle changes… Wish Christina Love&Prayers and wish her the best on finding treatments for her MS❤️

This is amazing, once diagnosed, I took this personally and lived alone, in my mind! I only new about Teri Carr, montel Williams and eventually, Neil Cavuto; now, I have learned about Selma Blair and, now Christina and each story has similarities and has so many differences.
I thank you all for sharing your stories and not being afraid or ashamed to do so!

My daughter has the worst type you can have. Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis and I have RRMS and it's been a very difficult road to travel. My daughter's disease will never stop progressing no matter how much treatment she receives. So my heart goes out to Christina. MS is a horrible illness for some and not as bad for others, many only relapse once and never again while others do it over and over again. Then there are those like my daughter that the nightmare never ends. She was 13 when she first became symptomatic and 18 when the repeated hospitalizations began and 21 when she was finally properly diagnosed. Now at 29 her life is ruled by this illness on a physical level but mentally she's strong from all she's been through. I do have relapses and they're no picnic but I get through it and that's a blessing in comparison to others. Actresses like Selma Blair and others like Jack Osbourne are positive role models for those struggling with this disease. I wish Christina well, with all she's been through with Breast Cancer and now this she is a trooper that's for sure. She's still able to work and that alone is a blessing to have something to put your thoughts and energy into. God Bless her.
I am sorry for you and your daughter. I have PPMS as well. I get infusions of Rituxan every six months and it has stopped the progression somewhat. I've had no new lesions since I began this treatment. Best wishes to you.

This reminds me of Christina Amphlett, lead singer for Divinyls who also had breast cancer and MS. I'm so sorry about Christina Applegate's health issues. I hope that her MS is the slow kind. I've enjoyed Christina's shows...she is always a class act, a great comedienne and actor, and she has always looked great in every decade. I feel it is now time for her fans to send her their love and wish her the best because she has given us a lot of joy over many years. So good luck, Christina...there are ways of living and eating that reduce the symptoms of MS...I hope you will find an equilibrium that will aid you to manage your MS. There are books on this by doctors who have also had MS. They are worth investigating because you can live with this disease especially if your cancer is in recession.

My sister in law died at 49 from this. She had a bad case and was diagnosed around 18. It's different for everyone. Some have milder cases.
My condolences. How did she die from MS if you don't mind me asking? I was told by my MS specialist we don't die from it so now I am curious as to what happened.
@@Moonfaelien Unfortunately, people can die and have died from MS. I have Primary Progressive MS, very different than relapsing/remitting MS. It's important to make the distinction. Treatments are much more available these days, but there is no cure. Lots of MS patients are only mildly affected, or can go years without a flare. PPMS is relentless, we don't get "downtime." I am affected every single day, but I make the best of what I have.
