      Yep- also dealt with her own mothers breast cancer- survived being a child star in a role that would have been a pigeon hole for most actors- then starred in "Sweet Charity" on Broadway after BREAKING HER FOOT! (I think an understudy took over role for like 3 weeks) Two other tv series before "Dead to Me" and several films. A woman to be admired without a doubt!

      So what does that say about someone who doesn't eat meat? I thought the whole plant based diets were being promoted to prevent cancers and disease.

      Yeah, they both have MS, but not everyone who has MS have the same symptoms. I have RRMS, I was diagnosed with it when I was 32 and I’m 51 now. My symptoms are optic neuropathy in the left eye, degenerative disc and bone disease, arthritis everywhere, tendinitis bursitis in both shoulders and hips. This disease doesn’t define us, we can do almost anything we put our minds to, just a bit slower. 🧡🧡🧡💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

      Hey, as someone diagnosed 10 years ago , it pretty fn obvious gods a fairytale rob, between relapse and a job and kids, ya it's a hell of a ride, im 45 and have 19 and 21 year old kids, and now fostering a baby , but ya dont just quit everything! I have snowmobiles and a boat, i try tolive my life like I want....other than this m.s , it's pretty obvious that gods fake!

  • @laurad3497
    @laurad3497 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    And there are various types of MS. Relapsing-remitting is the most common, affecting 80% of MSers. Primary-progressive affects 10% of MSers, this is the type I have.
    Steroids are the first and foremost reason MSers gain weight. They tried them on me, unfortunately they didn’t help. But I did gain 15 pounds in two weeks.
    The best anyone can do to support MSers is to listen and learn about this horrible disease. No two MSer’s symptoms are the same or is affected by meds the same. Offer kind words and be patient. Having our function and abilities taken from us is a lot to process and depressing. It’s taken me 7 years to be “okay” with who I am now, but i still have bad days missing the old me. And I’m only 37.

      I’ve had ms for almost 28 years. I was diagnosed shortly enter the birth of my first child at 28. I was also diagnosed with Lyme disease at the same time. It was one of the most devastating times for me. I was legally blind in both eyes and shortly after lost the feeling on my right side and could not walk very far without losing strength in my right leg. I started on medication and I regained some of my strength in my leg back. At the time, my dr said the reason I was able to regain my vision and some of my strength back is that my body was able to regenerate They don’t know why it happens. I have many lesions with black holes and sometimes I think it makes it harder for someone to understand my body/mind doesn’t work the way it used to. I miss who I was before too. That sentence definitely resonated with me but I do consider myself one of the lucky ones

      @@TheSnerggly - Diet affects everything. The gut / brain are partners more or less. Most of us can solve the vast majority of issues via diet. Doctors won’t push this, without illness / disease, they like big pharma will suffer. Dr. Eric Berg here on YT is saving lives via food / proper eating and not meds. MS is genetic, triggered by a virus. More common in women living in northern climates with less sunshine; vitamin D deficient. (Seattle, Portland). It does not occur among Asians. My mother and her sister (Boston) both had MS, which is kind of unusual. My mother came down with it at 19; her sister in her early 50s. My mother skipped all forms of drugs and tx; my aunt tried some new drug in the 1990s. She was later dx'd with breast cancer...and there was speculation that the MS tx which made her sick may have caused it. She was treated for the cancer, had a mastectomy and case closed. My aunt lived to be 84; my mum, 83.. So far my sisters and all my cousins and I seem to be dodging it (knock on wood). Meanwhile, hope YOU are on the mend!

      @Athena Rose Who said "always genetic"? Genetic factors absolutely increase one's susceptibility to MS, as does environmental exposure. My mother and her sister both had MS; no neurologist was ever able to pinpoint why or where or how. Early on in my mother's dx (1950s) they questioned whether having pets in childhood might cause it. My mother had scarlet fever and a spider bite. All jotted down in those years by Harvard. But you can take your odd accusation of "untruthful" to the NEJM or Stanford or Harvard or Mayo who do studies on twins and siblings with MS. And p.s. if you can't come equipped with facts, at least be civil.

    I know at least 5 people with MS that put it in remission with diet and detoxing heavy metals. I met a woman on a flight to Alaska that had been completely dependent on other people and in a wheelchair. She was coming back from Mexico where she had her mercury fillings taken out, while going thru medically monitored detoxing and she was sitting beside me on the plane MS free, no wheel chair...she said to me, "Honey, do yourself a favor and get those metal fillings removed before you end up with a disease" I did get sick years later because my dentist said there was nothing wrong with metal fillings. Developed a connective tissue disease - got the metal removed, detoxed and been in remission. What threw me over the edge was a tetanus shot (over night disease). Heavy metals are cumulative. Aluminum and mercury the worse. BUT it's possible to get your life back.

    I was Dx in 2015 .. it’s a constant battle and I pray for cure every single day! The hardest part is that people don’t understand especially the fatigue that it’s not visible, but you feel like a truck ran over you!
    Second hardest is that a person has to apply for disability and that is a long struggle. MS affects mostly in young age , i was 29 so naturally didn’t not have much Ssn for the 10years working. Not only we struggle every day but the government is basically telling us we are worthless, how can a person survive on 950$ ? I am blessed I have my family sheltering me , but there are many people that has to pay rent and we all know how much it costs monthly. We should as well address that .. a prisoner in jail is paid triple and they have committed a crime, they have roof over their head, 3 meals a day, electricity, heating, medical. A person on disability struggles to make ends meet! Please talk about that ! MS is a lifetime sentence, but we have committed no crime!

    I was diagnosed with MS in April 2022. Woke up one morning and both feet felt numb like they were sleeping. Thought I slept on my legs weird, but as the day progressed, it didn’t go away. Then over the next 3 days, my waist down was numb. By then, had gone to the hospital and they gave me steroids and it calmed it down, but then a week later, my back down was numb, and I was crying and panicking. They did a lot of MRIs, but took over a month, because doctors didn’t know what it was, and 1st thought I had plantar fasciitis. Once they confirmed it, they put me on steroids again 5 days, then on MS meds. The thing is, there’s already damage, and the reality of it hits that your body isn’t going to work like what it used to. Took my about 2 months to start regaining back feeling in parts of my body that went numb. More awareness needs to be put out there on this disease.

    Married with children and Don't Tell Mom the Babysitters Dead will always be gold to me! She was the best in both! Love her for those rolls and those are the only rolls that i love the most!! I'm sure she looks great and is still the awesome person she always was!! Weight gain doesn't make a person. She fights for her life every single day and yet she still works and is willing to face the world with sheer bravery. ❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏

    My husband hasn't gotten to shut his work down for five months to process. And right now b/c he can't afford doctor's bills, he has NO medication. There's nobody at his job to say "no, that's enough" when he's left with not only HIS work, but the work of slackers who leave them theirs. I find it hard to feel bad for the rich who have the best of the best medical helps from physical to mental while my husband has nothing. Not even medication. They took away his medication due to his inability to pay. This just shows the vast issue we have in this country.

    • @deborahtruthseeker112
      @deborahtruthseeker112 ปีที่แล้ว

      Medication can be much deadlier than MS. There are at least four types, and RR MS is the best form to have, IF you must have this stinkin' disease at all. Primary progressive MS is quite deadly😢. I must say, though, that your attitude towards Christina, and other wealthy people is quite shameful, and sad. It is NOT their fault that your husband is sick, and perhaps being treated badly, but I do know of many FOOLS who took drugs for their MS, and DIED prematurely anyway. If they had NOT, they may still have been alive today. Diseases are created for $$$. Cause and effect. Big pharma never got rich by curing anything. They will not even cure the common cold. Wake up, already!!!

    I think mold is strongly related to cancer and autoimmune diseases. Living inside sealed off shelters carries dangers, and I for one wish I'd known about this much sooner in life. I would have opened for a tipi. It stinks to be diagnosed with these life changing things so hopefully in the next few decades they will nail down the cause. And she is beautiful with a cane and extra weight - so I hope she knows that.

    How much should one person have to endure in a lifetime? First breast cancer and now MS. God bless her and everything she does as that is one strong woman. Making her way through the worst of times, showing an inner strength, that others with the disease and other debilitating issues… need to see. Selma Blair the same way. I just want to hug the both of them and give them every bit of strength I have to continue to fight.

    I grew up enjoying Christina Applegate’s acting and gift to us through entertainment. I was very sad when I heard she had to go through a double mastectomy, and now MS. I had a dear friend diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2007, and unfortunately lost his battle two years ago. I hope medical research advances greatly to help people like Christina overcome this cruel disease.
