    Right now I'm quite proud of commuting myself to and from work on my skates, downhills and uphills on both ways. I'm also working on jumping with both feet, specially doing so in real life situations where it's really necessary, and also powerslides and B-stops 😉

    You have my respect for skating with a mask on !
    Skating wise I kinda gave up on the magic, I got tired of these sprint-slide-repeat routines when learning a new braking method so now I'm working on my backward agility (cuz' I'm a total noob when going backward) and trying to score a perfect mohawk !
    I hope you enjoy these downhill rides !

    I doing ok. Yesterday was my first attempt on rollerblading in the city and I still have to master the braking without the heel so I don't kill myself or others. It's hard since my skates get pretty fast for me with the smallest hill, but I loved it and want to keep trying :)

    Hi Tiago ...... I enjoy watching your clips, you're a fantastic skater & an inspiration. I myself am a new skater currently learning at the age of 48!! ...#nevertoolate ....... I have progressed well in the time I have been skating which is 5-6 weeks but now progress has slowed right down as I haven't quite got my balance right, I know this because my lower back continuously ache s when skating. I have been watching your clips to get tips like bended knees for instance but still can't quite get the hang of it! I do get a bit impatient & frustrated but have to remember that I've only been skating for 6 weeks & is your clips that keep me going, I would very much love to get to your level of skating & get through the worst part of the learning stage, please never stop making your you tube clips, they are awesome!! 👌

    I blame hills for the reason why my legs are now strong. God going up hills is a literal pain in the ass. Going down long hills can be fun, but scary cuz you need to look out for people getting in the way.
    How I'm doing? Couldn't skate for a bit cuz I lost my skate tool and I think I rusted a bearing so the wheel won't budge. I'm moving back to my University soon and I am hyped. 2 of my friends all of a sudden messaged me saying that they want to learn how to skate and join me. This have been happening more often, someone I know seeing skate for the past years and wanting to join me. I look forward to going back because the land is very flat which makes and overall smooth ride

    I just started learning how to rollerblade this summer and got pretty decent. I’m practicing how to power stop and do a 180 while skating. Also I’ve been thinking about buying some new skates. After quarantine I’ll have to try on some at a shop to buy. I’m also bummed that I can’t really practice because the air quality is so bad in California right now. Maybe I’ll start rollerblading again next summer especially when my classes are over.

  • @GealuGalu

    I'm wondering about putting slide pucks on the sides of skates to do drag stops without killing wheels. I've learnt how to manual on my front wheels and do a duckwalk/inverse manual on 1 front and back wheel, still drilling my slide stops (i rarely slide lots of friction just kinda stops me usually) and going backwards. I am drilling transitions and just skating backwards, it's harder than it looks

    • @dawsdep
      @dawsdep 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That sounds quite interesting! Unless i'm misunderstanding, from my experience with slide pucks they won't give you enough friction to use for stopping

    • @GealuGalu
      @GealuGalu 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dawsdep Maybe a specifically designed material then? Wearing through 1-2 pucks is much more resourceful than all your wheels. 86a wheels get destroyed way faster than 88a when drag stopping, i usually resort to turns and just letting my speed go away instead

    Anyone have suggestions on cruising outside? I’m new to inlines and I’m confused because so many YT videos have people skating super fast without really observing where they are going or the surface area for pebbles, twigs, etc so how do you keep from falling and hurting yourself when you online outside as a beginner? I bought mine thinking I could get some good exercise but now I feel a bit concerned about attempting it outside since I’m new to this type of skating. Any advice or insight? I literally thought the big wheels would sort of help with getting tripped up on things outside….

    Hey Tiago, i love your videos. As a beginner (absolute beginner) in inline skating (with 38yo, more than 100kg and the horrible oxelo's fit3) i would like to see a video of your oppinion on protective gear, what things to look for and things to avoid. Right now i'm using some knee, elbow and wrist hard protections, from oxelo too and i have a pair of shorts (that look like long boxers) with protecting pads that help a lot with the hip (being an older guy i get some hip problems >D) and a helmet. Anyway, i would love to hear your thoughts about this subject.

    I recently started to get my backwards crossovers down, as well as getting better at accelerating while in side-surf. I really want to start getting better at leading with my left leg and being able to perform my tricks in both directions. I'm super right side dominant so it's going to take me a bit.
    And then I'm always trying to get better at my power slides and stops for safer city skating.

    Hey that looks like quite a downhill ride with great speed.

    Am pretty new to skating, recevied new bearings and wheels yesterday so I rode with the new ones for the first time. I think the original bearings (from MF500's) had taken a bit too much of a beating with no maintenance; I've been riding a bit occasionally since february and more intensely lately.
    Mainly working on posture and trying to glide on the middle edge/with feet pointing forward. Also trying to get used to drag stops with my weaker foot, and hopefully some lunge turns & powerstops soon for more confident stops… I'm mainly in skating for use as a means of transport & a bit for exercise, so I've been mostly skating longer circuits around the area; sadly not as nice asphalt as in Paris, but dealing with hills & rough asphalt makes for interesting challenges as well

    Got back to skating recently (yes also thanks to Tiago)
    Got some USD Aeon's and some Powerslide Zoom 80's (Rockered them with 76mm front and back wheel)
    Been enjoying both pairs.. rockered takes some getting used to.. muscles get tired way faster.
    Thing us.. both skated kinde hurt my feet after a while.. mostly outside/middle part of my feet.. (wide/flat footed)
    Anybody got any tips for that? The size of the skates is good.. 1 size up would be too big
    Trickwise.. I wanna get into slaloming.. wanna learn 'The crazy'

    Hello Tiago, great downhill video and also have a question. Does Seba use locktight on their axle nuts? It is impossible getting the two middle wheels nuts off, I'm afraid of stripping them or bending the stock skate tool. Thank You!

    Hey Tiago just a quick question, do you mind trying if your 4 wheels skates could fit into your North Face fuse box backpack? Like just throw them in the bag to see if it could fit. Do let me know if it works as I am planning to get me the bag as well. Thank you!

    Is it worth getting street skates if I have aggressive skates? Does it help you get better at aggressive skating to learn street skate tricks like stopping etc?

    question T, do you city skate on a rockered setup?? i've been doing that lately and sometimes it feels like its really tasking and would seem like it would be better on a non-rockered flat setup. let me know what you think about that.

    i'm a new skater, and when i watch videos like this i imagine getting a sense of panic cruising through city streets like that.... there are so many opportunities for a collision surprise to come out of nowhere! When i skate it feels like stopping is unheard of and all the stopping methods i've seen either take a lot of skill (and space) or are ineffective. Are you more experienced skaters just confident that you can dodge? or is it more confident that you can stop in a moment?

      I think it's the power sliding that you've gotten learn how to do. That's a skill I'm currently working on. It lets you stop in a second and Tiago said it himself, it's a street skaters favorite method.

    hi tiago! i started inline skating with my moms old skates in march 2020 and now i want to order my own new ones. i’ve skated almost every day during quarantine and for someone who started less then a years ago i think i’m pretty good. around june i started going to the skating rink and learning tricks. what skates would you recommend for me?

    I did a lot of research, trinity boots/frames/mounts aren't for me! I'd only recommend them to people who do not have flat feet/natural pronation like I do, I need lateral adjustment for my skates and I cannot seem to be able to laterally adjust them.
