    I generally use winget and the truth is that I highly recommend it. Thanks for recommending another alternative.

    Holy shit, thank you. I've been trying to follow along with cs50, and couldn't run code in vscode since I couldn't compile through terminal, and I refused to use a work around like the code runner extension. For somereason I didn't have make.exe so with this I was able to install it, and it worked! I've been trying to fix this issue for around 4 days. Again, thank you

    How to clean packages, installed from choco, but uninstalled in other way, and choco lists them yet? (old visual studio for example, uninstalled with visual studio installer, but choco keep show them in list, also python installation, uninstalled from control panel, choco lists it, etc.).
    Always chocolately for me was unnecessary headache, eating too many disk space.

      I just try to use choco and find same problem
      Also run the command
      choco list -lo
      Still see the uninstall package on the list

    I recently stumbled upon your channel while watching this video. It appears that your channel offers a wealth of Python content, which is quite exciting! I'm eager to explore and make use of your tutorials. Keep up the great work! 😄

    Good video. IMO, you've missed a big part. For example, exporting pack settings for future use, Choco GUI, etc. Otherwise, thumbs up.

    What are the advantages, differences, that's worth it more over just using winget?

    Are there any advantages when using this over Winget? I love Package Managers.

    • @alphabennyrosy5068
      @alphabennyrosy5068 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Alpharabius99 for example, you uninstall an application, the uninstaller doesn't remove certain registry keys. So you end up having a broken looking entry in your startup. Then to fix it you need to dig into the registry and delete the entries. Basically in windows the only real way of uninstalling an application fully to have a clean feeling is to reinstall the operating system ( leftovers of uninstalled applications everywhere ). Windows updater occasionally broken, finding the same update over and over again and reinstalling it an infinite amount of times until Microsoft patches it. Winget constantly failing checksums when trying to update applications or even install them ( half the time they don't even keep the software up to date either). Winget will tell for two years that u need to update applications that are already up to date, and when u tell it go ahead and proceed with these so called updates, it will fail. There is also a fragmentation everywhere, you are constantly being thrown between the new half baked modern ui and the good old legacy ui. Also when it comes installing software ( what's superior, the msstore or the good old exe/MSI way of doing it 🤷, what's the point of this fragmentation).The compositor on Windows feels sluggish and unresponsive in contrast to macos or any Wayland driven compositor on a Unix like operating systems. I can go on for hours with much more detail, but honestly I don't have the energy. I genuinely don't know how people manage to be productive on windows, to me it just a constant troubleshooting experience. I personally reinstall windows at least once a week on my system before things get really difficult to resolve.

    I still prefer downloading installers myself. I know what to get, where to get it. Having this middleman of a program just doesnt feel right. I accepted package managers on linux due to tradition mostly, but also because linux may be runiing without a gui and having a manager to quickly doanload, unpack and install something is valuable. But this just makes me think of a microsoft store or other awful creations. Like its another little step to take away my control over what i download and install. Even linux now has rise of popularity of snaps and flatpacks.
