    Just got mine in the mail today. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxhcEDB3r-OJ3_X5hQzr7k1ZofTQy1ao_U The corners of the box was a little smashed but I think that’s more of the shipping’s fault. iPad was in perfect condition though. I ordered the yellow one thinking it was going to be a bright vibrant color. Instead I looks like more of a Gold color. I personally prefer the gold look. Definitely not disappointed but just a heads up to the ones expecting a brighter cream of yellow.

    Where did you buy your digitizer from?

  • @puppypup7037
    @puppypup7037 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi! Quick question, do you have to use glue on the screen to keep it down? Or is it just the adhesive that keeps it in place? I ask because I took my iPad in for a screen replacement and the 1st time I brought it home it was lifting on the bottom corner and I noticed glue residue all along the edge (you can almost see a gap along the whole thing). I took it back to get that fixed and told them I noticed particles on the underneath of the screen as well which sucked. I brought it home and the screen is still lifting along the whole bottom and side now, I can still see the particles too. They also took my screen protector off and didn’t put one back on, why you ask, I haven’t a clue. I’m almost thinking it’s not the right size screen for my iPad which is why it’s lifting so bad. You shouldn’t be able to see any gap around the edges, right. Any help on this I would appreciate it

    • @TheFixTech
      @TheFixTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Usually this means the repair shop did not bother to remove the old adhesive. They put the new digitizer with adhesive on top of the old adhesive causing the whole glass to appear higher than the frame. Also poor quality digitizers are thicker than the originals. If you would like to do this repair yourself be sure to purchase a quality part, remove all old adhesive and clean the lcd of dust particles.

    Hey mate, thanks for the great video. I replaced my screen with your video, it looks fantastic ❤️. But I noticed when I hold it in landscape and scroll up and down the screen sort of pauses about mid screen before continuing to scroll I’m not sure it did that before, any ideas? Is that normal or did I stuff something up? Should I order another and reopen it and replace the cables or something? Or is this normal, I really don’t think I remember it doing that before. On further inspection it’s basically a dead area if touch between the home button and camera in a straight narrow line about a finger width. What do I look for if I can reopen it without breaking the screen again.

    • @TheFixTech
      @TheFixTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The replacement screen is defective, the cables are fine. The screen would have to be replaced again, unfortunately. Contact the place that sold you the screen, they should send you a replacement. If you need to remove the screen in one piece it is doable, just move more slowly and use heat to soften the adhesive.

    • @TheFixTech
      @TheFixTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is possible, but you have to be extra careful and patient as to not damage the glass as it can shatter. I do it all the time, just start off on the left edge, use just enough heat to soften the adhesive not damage the digitizer, use a little extra heat around the corners, they are the trickiest.

      @@TheFixTech I had an issue with this as well, and the bracket is stuck on good but the button it self has come loose. What is that liquid adhesive? Do you have an ebay-link for that?
    I did my cracked digitizer the other day, and when reattaching the home-button to the glass I figured the old adhesive would hold as it seemed sticky enough, but sadly no.
    It has now come loose and moves and pivots in the hole when depressing it.
    Not looking forward to removing the glass to do it properly this time - but need something to glue it with.
    Or do you cut tiny pieces of double sided adhesive tape aournd the butotn and us that to fasten it?

    • @TheFixTech
      @TheFixTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I personally use a very small amount of Krazy glue (for home button only) You have to be quick as this glue sets fast. You can use a glue called b-7000 for the glass (the best for glass gluing, and still have the ability for future repairs) and home button repair. You can also use any type gel based super glued for the home button as they have a longer set time and can be found at any hardware store. The glues I use are as follows, b-7000, krazy glue, loctite gel, loctite extra time, each have their uses...

      Jarkko Mattinen t-7000 is an epoxy base, e-8000 is same as b-7000 both are good. Some local hardware stores still carry e-6000 which is the original and made in USA. Hard to find locally though. I found a tube at Lowe’s, it was the last one.

      @@TheFixTech I got my glues :) Only had the opportunity to test the clear one and it sure is sticky, but it does not harden as I imagined it would. It is more akin to very sticky chewing gum and with good coverage it will for sure hold down stuff while also giving it flexibility and "rubberines".

      I too found out this the hard way. Could not understand the point of selling a complete digitizer with home button if it never would work
      I had to transplant the old button to the new glass - and did a halfassed job and the button is loose and is now "rattling" around in the opening :(
      I have seen a video of a guy who desolders the chip and solders it to the new button, but for the life of me I can't find it again.
      What I did find, was another guy who desoldered a two-part cable and reused the part with the button and IC - but my new homebutton has a cable in one part, so that may no longer be an option.

    Mine is an iPad Pro 10.5" (2018) with several long hairline cracks. It is still useable but today it zoomed in and out by itself and I am afraid the cracks are affecting the performance. Will it get worse? All the version numbers confuse me but i am afraid to do it myself. How much is a fair fee? Who fixes them?

    • @TheFixTech
      @TheFixTech  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sadly it will get worse as the touch sensors are imbedded into the glass on this model. The repair is expensive as the glass and lcd are one unit, it is an easier job, but more expensive. Search eBay for iPad Pro 10.5 lcd, buy from a reputable seller.
