Super helpful, getting an apartment in a foreign country can be very nerve wracking

Depends where you are based(also depends on job type and contract) i think. i was in Shanghai. Finding an apartment was pretty easy. It's possible to look for an apartment, schedule a viewing, sign the contract and move in all with in within a few hours of starting your search. (but i advise taking time and make the most of the 2 weeks they pay for your hotel) When i joined EF they just gave me an advance on a salary, my co workers gave me names of agents and websites to help push me in the right direction, worked out great.

@Dolla Holla When i first arrived i lived alone in a small studio apartment it was 3500rmb (500 usd) per month, that fee included internet and the service fee. If you live alone and live in the inner ring (down town) expect to pay in the range of 3-5000 rmb for an apartment.

@Dolla Holla It's pretty safe from what i've seen, i know plenty of foreign women who travel alone everyday with no problems. I would say there are no outstanding dangers but still have your wits about you like you would anywhere else in the world.
There is also didi (chinese version of Uber) it's safe, reliable and there are plenty of features in the app to help keep you safe. A built in call police button and an emergency contact system where your contact can track your trip in real time for example.
