Made an offer in North Port today on a gorgeous new build backing to a green belt listed for $339,900. 25 minutes to Venice but quiet and almost rural. Looked at many houses..there are lots to choose from! My insurance company quoted $1262 a year for an all peril ( except flood ] policy. It is zone x . My Colorado insurance just went up to $4400 so I am happy !
We're in Venice now. Just toured North Port to look at neighborhoods and home and schools. I come to figure that it's better neighborhoods north of 41. For our needs, we need a bigger and preferred newer home. As many of your previous videos suggest, it's quite spread out. Takes 15 minutes to get anywhere around there. Coming from Chicago, this place is slow paced and it will be a life changing experience. We aim for an August move in the area. In conclusion, congestion near north port high school would be best for our family with two 10 and 14 year old girls.
I would like to thank you both for doing this. I lived in Sarasota (near Myakka State park) for a while and am very interested in getting back to that area or somewhere close. I do love the North Port area. I've been having trouble finding out about the area and can't afford to pay a real estate agent, so I greatly appreciate this.❤
Insurance costs and real estate taxes not only went up in North Port and other parts of Florida so much because home prices were and still are ridiculously elevated starting during Covid with multiple bidders and the frenzy of paying over asking prices. Home prices have not really gone down much. Also, when you factor in today's interest rates, your monthly house payment is even more with just a small decrease in the house prices. This is not a good time to buy a home.
For some people it isn't, but that decision depends on a lot of factors for each person. We do think we'll be seeing home prices may drop a bit in the area, and interest as well, although later than expected.
@@joltjolt5060 we are thinking about maybe buying a place down in that area and we’ve heard that some places are safe. Some places aren’t and of course a realtor won’t tell you they can’t tell you which are good places to live in which areas aren’t.
