Armand is just a hot mess - calculating, disingenuous, smug, lonely, scary, vulnerable, lost, regal, angelic, sexy, and mesmerizing!!!. Imma def gonna have to go read the books to better understand this character. I can't believe how much I empathize with him... Must learn more! Since I haven't read the books yet my hat goes off to this actor for this amazing portrayal... otherwise I probably wouldn't be so fascinated by Armand.
I feel like these two have f@%$ed before. The flirtation, the sass, the unexpected tension, their unusual switcharoo situation where it feels like they've switched "comfort zones" or what one would expect based on what they look like; Armand feels like he's the one pursuing Daniel, cornering him for his own amusement/desires like a craving/hunger that's beyond satiating. Like Daniel fulfills a need Armand didn't realize he had but feels eons more effective than what he's had. Armand seems unusually transparent even vulnerable/exposed around Daniel rather than the ideal lover situation he's got with Louis. Daniel seems to be natural around this dynamic with Armand where Armand's feel like his "boss" in a way and Daniel follows his guidance. I rather like the Armand that Daniel gets to see, the playful, wise, humble, mature, messy, sweet but the more dominant feeling force. Armand feels like he's an older, wiser actual man around Daniel and not a "boy" or the toy. He doesn't want Daniel to minimize him and is likely attracted to Daniel because of this, Daniel seeks to understand and respect. As a result, daniel feels like the sweetness or softer energy in their thing, Armand would be cooperative with Daniel's gentleness. The result I feel from them is 'longing'. I can't wait for the show to explain WHY I feel this from them.
If I remember correctly, they're supposed to. Armand's eyes are noted by Daniel in the books to be Armand's most expressive quality after his hands. Daniel frequently mentioned that Armand's eyes go wild with colors when he's feeling certain ways. If he's relieved they turn almost gold, when he's chill or indifferent they turn brown or even carnelian; if he's happy or lusting they turn amber. He expresses a lot with his hands tooo, in the books he's constantly shaking them or when around Daniel sliding them up Daniel's person flirtatiously or grabbing him to hug him like a teddy bear or present. Armand expresses as poker face 98% of the time with any remaining feeling showing through his eyes and hands. The only time we see the elegance shift is with Daniel mostly because Daniel never really believes Armand's affections for him so Armand expresses harder to communicate to Daniel or get him to understand. With him, Armand tries to be as clear, direct, and open as possible out of sometimes thinking low of himself (in disbelief someone as pretty as Armand would want him. Daniel's vision of himself is that he's just 'there'. His personality type is of that sort where they're so attractive they think their handsome or beauty is normal or typical since they never really lose it or had a time without it. That sort tends to be super intelligent out of that exposure making hyper aware of human nature (which Daniel's spectacular at reading) but they have a hard time accepting when good things come to them). Armand when it comes to Daniel is infamously gentle, patient, and generous and Daniel kinda develops this fear that Armand's good graces would be conditional on his looks when really Armand loves him for his respect of others.
@@WitchRapture it is in armand pt 1 if you download the file from my masterlist (linked in the info box) - if it’s not in the youtube version it’s because youtube made me cut it out for copyright reasons :(
