    That is wonderful. The SWFL male M15 has been raising his eaglets after the disappearance of the female Harriet. He is an amazing dad. ❤

      Yes, he is "Magnificent M15 🦅❤ " eagle dad. I miss Harriet and she would be so proud of E21-E22 and M15. E21-E22 are so close right now it's been such a joy over these years watching the live cam at SWFL on TH-cam. Making a channel for Murphy would be a great watch too. Still watching E21-E22 and M15 having springtime fun. 🦅❤️🦅❤️👍

      Lol. I was literally just thinking the same exact thing about our resilient M15 raising his eaglets to fledge despite numerous obstacles he powered through. M15 will & should make headline news for his efforts, and if he doesn't we here in SWFL know all too well how magnificently he's raising his E's after Harriet's sad disappearance without a trace of her.

      Eagles are the most beautiful, magnificent birds God ever created!!!!!! They are breathtakingly beautiful in person!!!!!!!! We had a houseboat on Norris Lake in Union County, TN. We had Eagles all over the lake, but one in particular would sit in a huge tree behind my houseboat. I would sit on my front porch with binoculars watching him/her for hours!!!!!!!! We had a 16 ft wide houseboat and I remember one day when I was in the water, he/she flew over our houseboat after some baby ducks. His/Her wings were wider than our houseboat, and the Eagle didn’t catch any baby ducklings!!!

      According to an article I read about the sanctuary and Murphy, this is the first eaglet they have received in about 10 years. The only reason they have this eaglet is because they knew the nest had fallen in a storm. A sibling eaglet died in the fall and this one was injured. Getting another eaglet for next year isn't likely to happen.

    • @Roselyroses
      @Roselyroses ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@deebell8727 From what I read, Murphy only shows "fatherly" behaviors when his instincts tell him to do so. Otherwise, he won't care if the rock is there or not. Idk if it would matter whether he had this rock or not, nor if he'll take to incubating a rock egg next year. We'll see.

      Lissa, a thousand times agreeing with you(and others with the same opinion) on this.
      This zero human interference is generally a noble and decent idea...if we completely forget about the fact that humanity turned pretty much everything around on this planet for its own sake - so I personally passionately disagree with 'zero human interference' BS, sorry.
      We should absolutely make an effort to conceal our interference when we do so, but whenever human help can make their suffering a little easier, I feel it should be our duty.

    I wonder if he goes broody next year if they could foster another chick or several with him?
    I know this is actually the first eagle chick they've had in years. But maybe they could foster a similar species with him. Seems as long as he cares for them it would make an easier transition into the wild.
    I'm just glad he went broody this year so he could raise the chick.
    And good M 15 on raising your beautiful chicks alone. I hope it works out with the new female that's hanging around too. Hopefully she'll continue also caring for them some & they'll have more next year too.
