output shaft - "counter shaft"
opposite shaft - "main shaft"
sprockets - "gears"
interlocking side teeth - "dogs"
shifting arms - "shift forks"
shifting/sliding type sprocket - "slider"

After watching many many videos.... OMG, I am just tired & found out a complete stop here . Thank you so much for this wonderful video which cleared all my misunderstandings. Now, I got this completely. No one & no other demonstrations worked out for me till now.
This is one of the coolest (and most detailed) the i have seen in awhile. It helps because I am rebuilding my YZ125 and I need to know EXACTLY how it works!

Nice video, informative. For me it's not so important to understand the different gear ratios and how they figure that but the concept of how it works is explained very well in this presentation. Nice job!

This demo is so perfect. I had no idea how my trans worked, and was having a problem with it's down shifting from third to second and to first. This was due to my running low on oil and some metal particles started circulating around and causing the problem. It is now shifting fine since I did two oil and filter changes. This took about 600 miles of driving, and so far it's working fine. I would still like some input regarding how the metal pasrticles effected the shifting. Thanks for the excerllent demo. Ron
