I rode this for the first time in 1989 and it's my favorite Rollercoaster of all time still to this day. And I am a rollercoaster enthusiast with a LOT of rides under my belt. There's just something special about The Beast.
It may not technically be the best coaster, but there sure is something special about it!
I gotta add The Beast to my coaster list. I love any ride that zips through trees like this one. Great job as always, Matt!
You can’t beat that feeling! And thank you 😊
It's like high speed forest bathing.
If anyone gets in a night ride, I hope you are fortunate enough to get it on a day that has a late rain. The first drop tunnel hits you with a cool, damp blast. But, it is amplified with a late rain that cools off the humid summer heat. I was lucky enough to ride it back in the day with a lot less trim brakes and the old buzz bars. The magic seat is row 17 (2nd last seat). Next best is any seat not on the wheel. At night, try to get the front seat. Plus, there is a certain vibe in the station waiting to ride at night. To this day, the Beast night ride is my most memorable experience on a roller coaster. Although, I only have less than a 100 coaster credits.
There really is a vibe in the station! I had a whole section about that in my script, but I ended up cutting it. It's an unmatched feeling.
It doesn't matter if you have 1 coaster credit or 1,000. Your experience is your experience. That's awesome you got to do it.
Great Video. The Beast (and Mystic Timbers) are my favorite rides at Kings Island, worth the nearly 8 hour drive from Charlotte. Night rides on these two are beyond incredible. So temped to get a fast lane pass during the Haunt so my son and I can get the maximum night rides in.
Oooh that sounds like a great investment! Night rides at Kings Island are invaluable
Thank you for this fantastic video!
When I was 5 yrs old in 1979 my dad was contracted by King's Island to fly over the beast and get pix. I remember going with him on my first airplane ride. Finally was tall enough 2 yrs later and rode it the first time in the pitch black of night nonetheless. An experience you never forget and now my son agrees as well. We've been all over the country riding coasters but the Beast will always be king. 👍
Thank you! Oh that’s amazing. Such a cool story!
Man! There’s nothing like riding the Beast at night. It’s always my last ride
@@priceth Great choice!
Love The Beast! I didn’t get a chance to do a night ride though, so I’m excited to make that happen in a few weeks 👀
Ooooh I hope that works out for you!
I love that it lines up with the tower. Super cool
I was reading an interview where the creators said that was an accident 😅
Very nice job on this video! 👏🏽The Beast is my favorite! Especially the end. It really is the best ending on any ride!
Thank you! A wonderful finale really. Few come close!
I have to get to King's Island & ride this Beast of a coaster. I love wooden coasters, they give a feel that most modern coasters will never compare to. I've heard from friends it's an amazing coaster & one day will experience it for myself. Great job on the video!
I hope you get out there someday! There are some other parks with mostly wooden coaster lineups you may enjoy too, like Holiday World.
Great video! The Beast is on my eventual check list of rides I’d like to do a clever coasters video on, specifically focusing on the epic theatrical feel of the layout that most modern coasters don’t have.
Please do! That would be great. The coaster has different acts too, so it’s cinematic in many ways. I’d love to hear your take.
Try riding it at night, indeed!
It's really somethin' else!
@@StorybookAmusement Yep. It sure is.
