Hilarious! Cyclists all over the world have been hot waxing chains for decades with no issues and you've proven them all wrong in a 10-second video. My guess is you're doing something wrong
I use a hot plate outdoors with a metal pie pan with some high temp grease melted in it and I place chain in it and let it soak then pull it out wipe off the excess with a rag and install and enjoy
Person dipped a new chain in hot wax and installed it on their bike. You can see that the chain is sticking to the ring and the bike shifted like garbage. Had to strip all the wax off the chain and used bike specific lube. Used Muc off dry chain lube and now the bike runs smooth. No adjustments needed. Just got rid of the wax garbage.
@@alvink566 it depends on what conditions you are riding in. Muc off makes a dry condition chain lube and a wet condition chain lube. My recommendations for chain lube are Muc-off, Boeshield, or dumond tech. They all make quality chain lines that don't attract dirt and won't gum up your chain.
I love hot wax, I’ve been doing it for years. Keep doing it until I stop cycling.

Just pedaling a bike that someone did this to their chain. Cleaned it all off and it shifted and pedaled beautifully.
someone didn't clean the excess off well enough.
After a minute it goes away.
After several minutes of pedaling this bike it was still sticking to the Chainring and it was causing this bike to shift like hot garbage.

But, the tik tac said it was a life hack.
I’ll be sure to remind my 9yr old not to hot wax his bike chain
Hot wax?

@calicycles1998 thanks for explaining. I just purchase an emtb and learning about chain maintenance. So only use drylube?

That is why you wipe your chain off immediately after removing it from the hot wax.
