@@Lathland I have a challenge for you Lathrix that will take you back to the gigastructural engeneering mod. @@HandsomeGamerGuy 2 years ago or so you started with a shattered ring with the OP districts. Your pops still had their normal planet preference, meaning you started with one of the best megastructures, could expand freely and only had to worry about rare ressources for district upkeep. The then nerfed the origin by adding a ringworld preference trait, meaning your pops could no longer really settle on other planets. Together with the rare ressource upkeep this made the origin essentially into a one planet challenge that was neither fun nor viable. Afterall you can't really maintain an endgame structure with early-game ressources. The current iteratation (atleast of the time the video was released) made the starting ringworld into its own special planet type, seperate from normal ringsworlds. Ever thought about doing a run with Gigastructural Engineering? Some of the stuff you can get in that is truly insane, and it adds way more mid and end game content, including a mid game crisis and like three end game crises. Really crazy stuff.
i think being the reanimators and reanimating space fauna could get you a very large fleet early on and then building more fleets the normal way would be op build for this
Thank you for your videos I do appreciate the longer content as I can have it playing well i'm doing other stuff and keeping me entertainment at the same time please continue to do these.
One system is probably my favorite challenge and generally one of my favorite ways to play the game. Never done it as a criminal syndicate though. Could be interesting as a change.
@28:00 - You could always 'bend' the rule slightly and if had got the systems from the rackets, you could have immediately given it to your vassal anyway as they would be bordering you
Had a game where I was a strong expansionist empire. Got knocked off my pedistal by a coalition that raised up to down me. Got vassalized and my overload was invaded. Broke free and again a new coalition invaded me. Vassalozed again and traded around as my overlords kept getting invaded. I kept being used for resources because I produced large fleets in short times. Without my resources my empire crumbled and I had to fight a 6 sided war vs pirates, rebels, the worlds I conquered, my overloard, and two other empires. Eventually gave up.
Sod the algorithm. I love long form. I rarely watch anything less than 30min long and I prefer even longer, at least an hour. 4+ hours is not unusual for me to watch. Nice to see a well narrated game like this :)
I think I'll try this challenge too sometime soon. Seems surpisingly relaxing, kinda. (I won't be going criminal heritage though. Me no like making other empires angry)
Also, I LOVE this format of videos. I know you always mention they are algorithm killers but they are some of my favorite videos on all of TH-cam. Never stop this!!! I have loved it for so long
great content bring more, im still learning the game so i would enjoy more in-depth explanation how your nation setup works and gives you edge in the actual game.
just thinking about stellaris AI, and i feel like having FEs with extremely powerful ai - like, human level ai - would make it a lot more interesting. it could also happen when they awaken, sorta like "haha doofus ai FE" into "oh shit, their ships are kinda meta" into "OH THEY COUNTER MINE." "Here, you have this empire. They have progressed so damn fast." "Here, you have these empires. They are older, but by god are they worse." "And then there's us. We outclass everyone in every way."

Very good video! I love Megacorps, and criminal heritage is such a unique sub-sub-empire that it's so often overlooked. Always a great time though!
How can playing as Megacorp with Criminal Heritage handle another Megacorp which have already built Holdings and branches almost everywhere?! I am trying this build and it's so shitty that I cannot get Casus Belli on the Megacorp! Getting more fleet power is hard since the enemy almost always is in a federation already. Is the fleet power checking only the empire power or increases it if it's in a federation?
STELLARIS
STELLARIS!!!!
For LAXTHRIX
For the ALGORITHM!!!!
All hail the crime lord
Reads title: "So...we're Las Vegas this time around?...allegedly."
You madlad, when I saw the thumbnail I knew I was in for a good time. Can't wait to see what you do next time!
Keep making these - the algorithm had buried you for close to two years for me, so nice to see you pop up again!
Ever thought about doing a run with Gigastructural Engineering? Some of the stuff you can get in that is truly insane, and it adds way more mid and end game content, including a mid game crisis and like three end game crises. Really crazy stuff.
You may not be the first one to do this challenge, but you are the first one of said challenge that I'm eager to watch.
every time i see lathland upload stellaris i get so happy....seriously dont stop doing this KEEP GOING
i think being the reanimators and reanimating space fauna could get you a very large fleet early on and then building more fleets the normal way would be op build for this
Thank you for your videos I do appreciate the longer content as I can have it playing well i'm doing other stuff and keeping me entertainment at the same time please continue to do these.
Love the videos, gets me interested in so many other builds and inspires playthroughs
One system is probably my favorite challenge and generally one of my favorite ways to play the game. Never done it as a criminal syndicate though. Could be interesting as a change.
Love to see you making more Stellaris vids, you should consider checking out the 2022 modjam, the theme last year was mid-game crisis.
I need to try this myself!..
Well I guess here goes my plan to finally leave the comfort zone and play wide.
Always a fan of Stellaris content from Lathrix!
Welcome back! Praise the algorithm!
Love the content, especially the long-form stuff - doing my duty to the algorithm by commenting!
Always love these full playthroughs. They are such fun to watch~
I'm curious how this'd go against other crises. The scourge have always felt considerably weaker to me.
blood for the blood god, comments for the algorithm god!
Sod the algorithm. I love long form. I rarely watch anything less than 30min long and I prefer even longer, at least an hour. 4+ hours is not unusual for me to watch.
Nice to see a well narrated game like this :)
I've always loved your Stellaris videos the very mostest, and I can't wait to see more :D
Commenting because these videos are just an amazing way to relax after work and I am so glad you make them
I think I'll try this challenge too sometime soon. Seems surpisingly relaxing, kinda. (I won't be going criminal heritage though. Me no like making other empires angry)
Lathrax really just used all his vassals’ fleets as strike craft against the scourge when his fleets got too good at counters😂
Also, I LOVE this format of videos. I know you always mention they are algorithm killers but they are some of my favorite videos on all of TH-cam. Never stop this!!! I have loved it for so long
Been waiting for this for sooooo long!!!
Another great long play session. Thanks Lathrix!!!
great content bring more, im still learning the game so i would enjoy more in-depth explanation how your nation setup works and gives you edge in the actual game.
just thinking about stellaris AI, and i feel like having FEs with extremely powerful ai - like, human level ai - would make it a lot more interesting.
it could also happen when they awaken, sorta like "haha doofus ai FE" into "oh shit, their ships are kinda meta" into "OH THEY COUNTER MINE."
"Here, you have this empire. They have progressed so damn fast."
"Here, you have these empires. They are older, but by god are they worse."
"And then there's us. We outclass everyone in every way."
Good run, so much has changed in Stellaris!
