Honestly it was really heartening to see that Jimmer struggled in the same ways I did with this License.
I have to say I massively admire how cool headed you stayed. I let myself lose my head way too much!
Dude if they would just adjust the sensitivity of the blackhole/instant snap effect on curbs and grass, this would be a tad more realistic. But yeah the struggle is real lol

cuz yeah basicaly you turn too much by tiny amount at any high speed turn = dead

@@etiennelandry118 I had half an hour of spare time so I actually went back to S-10 to improve my time because I liked the challenge. I managed to do a 2.24,2, but I think there's lot of time still to be gained for me. I will probably try again in the weekend and go for low 23s at the very least, maybe high 22s.
I guess people just enjoy different things. And yes, I'm sadly on a controller as well.
S-10? Oddly enough this isn't the license test that gave me hell. There's 2 spots where I decided to coast to keep control, then decided to focus on other areas where I had more than enough grip. My first sector time was slow because of this but it was clean, and after 3 or 4 tries I got gold on controller.
Major kudos to Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood who drove this car to a victory at the 24 hours of lemans in 1970.
i’m not shitting on drivers nowadays but drivers back in that time weren’t human. i can’t understand how they did it.
@@abyss18 because they weren’t professional marketing influencers like they are now, it’s not about about who can drive it’s about who’s got the ability to promote the teams look for advertising, the more likeable the driver the more sales the sponsors will get.

To be fair Le Mans during the 60s and early 70s was majority straights
@@semiedgv Then again they also drove other tracks that weren’t Le Mans. Brands Hatch, Spa, Monza, and the big one, the Nurburgring.
Imagine trying this with a h-shifter+clutch setup...Every downshift would be scary because every single one has to be perfect. One wrong blip and you're off

As a purist, getting gold on this with an H-pattern and clutch was one of the hardest racing game achievements I've ever gotten. Did it in 2:25.898
@@boxenjoyerkona I was a bit of a shitter when it came to this. I used my shifter to go up gears, but then paddles to go down. Works for me
Actually, you get the full speed on upshifting with the H shifter and no delay _plus_ an auto blip on downshifts with the paddles.
The thing which has always bothered me with these 1 lap attacks on Gran Turismo is that they force you to start again if you make a mistake - if it was realistic, you'd be able to keep going around the circuit until you found your groove and started cutting away at your times.
I remember the Senna lap of Brands hatch on GT6 and plugged away at that so many times
Imagine any of these crashes IRL... terrifying
Especially from the driver perspective, losing grip at that speed would be horrifying

a decently experienced gamepad player can get all the way to the S license (all gold) with some difficulty, but S licenses seem almost impossible on anything that isn't a wheel
I actually found S10 easier on a controller. I suppose it is easier to control slides on it?
Just out of curiosity, is everyone struggling coming from GT Sport or have you guys driven other Sims like AC, rFactor, etc?

Was stuck on 2:26.156 for three days, then I just got a brutal lap together and boom 2:23.316...

It became ten times harder after the recent update. Gold time is 02:25,00 now. Wet part is wider in several locations (dry surface after the first steep turn is narrower than the car width). Grip became worse on the dry surface.

That's pretty par for the course for Gran Turismo license tests.
They'll be completely reasonable, easy even, then one of them is just *stupid.*
It's better than some of the earlier tests though, literally if your tire touched grass you failed, it was insanely frustrating.
This brought up massive PTSD haha. I did a 2:24 on the controller on the first completed lap but just finishing the fking thing took sooo long. Sector 1 was good for me, 2 was hit and miss but the commitment in the final sector always broke me with the oversteer snaps.
Congrats on smashing the record at the time man! Also bring back this outro, I miss this outro on these types of videos!
The transformation from early crazy crashes through frustration, comic relief, swearing, and little victories yet not giving up to attaining silent confidence by the last glorious lap is one of the magical addictions of gaming. Thanks for sharing!
This was, by far, one of the hardest licence tests I've done in a very long time. Took nearly 2 hours to finally get the gold
This reminds me a lot of the final license test in GT4, you had to get around the Nurburgring in a Mercedes C11, under 8:50 I think? And no crashes, spinouts or offs.
For me, a user several orders of magnitude lower than Jimmer here, it was brutal.

That was a really cool video. Especially because you clearly become smoother by the end of it. There are lots of unnecessary wheel movements in the beginning of the video (which is sort of frustrating to watch), while by the end, your movements are much, much smoother and precise!
Love to see that progress, the frustration to lead up to the eventual sheer happiness. Puts a smile on my face every single time.

S-10 for me was one of the easiest tests. License A-10 gave me the most trouble
same i got s-10 in 4 tries (maybe 10 minutes), but goddamn the supra one in tokyo expressway was hard cuz i was overthinking it
Did A10 for 2 hours straight and still haven't got gold
S10 is easy as long as you stay off the water
A-10 isn't that hard but the supra on tokyo expressway is hard

If you ever crash the Praga unfortunately ( seen it from post 3 yesterday, how the car jumped over the kerb, it was heartbreaking), remember that you're great Jimmer :). You achieved what it is pretty much a mission impossible
I remember going into this thinking thisll be somewhat tough, being an old 1970s race car but not too bad....then i saw it was on a wet track
It's been really hard since the update to do any of the licenses/track exp on dirt as the update has put racing tires on the cars and you can't change them 🙄

I struggled so hard on this challenge. I thought it was ridiculous when I got to it, and I'm glad to see others agree. But I enjoy a good challenge.
"if you wouldn't mind showing me your toes" got a good laugh out of me.
This took me a solid 2 hours of trying. And annoyingly enough, I didn't finish the lap once, until the final lap when I got gold first time. It was an absolute bastard, one slight slip of concentration and onto the wet you go.

it took me several sessions over two days to get to Bronze and three more hours to get gold. It was just short of becoming hair pullingly irritating but I managed to get it done before losing my mind. Not many games can thread that line and still be enjoyable.

I had to wait a week to even attempt S-10 due to the dirt tire problem with the first update. Now S-10 is done on an overcast day and you cannot "see" the wet from the dry on a PS4...spent 4 hours to get 2 clean laps...finished silver...I'm EFFING DONE

One thing I've learned over the years of playing GT is that nothing will make you go absolutely mad like the GT license tests do.

This was one of the hard licences. But with grit and determination it’s defo achievable. I did it with controller. The hard one for me now is the f1500t at spa challenge. The pass mission. Every time I go for a gap to overtake the ai they turn in to me and I end up getting failed for car collision. Must have tried it 50-70 times yesterday.
Have you got any tips on doing it with a controller? I’m shitting myself about trying for gold on this as I’ll be using one.
@@gavinmills2806 don’t try too hard. U have enough time to do it without constantly correcting the oversteer. Make use of half throttle. And short shift. My time was only a 25.8 so I only beat it by 2 tenths. Also just use the centre of the track. If u watch the demonstration. U will see that they are using traction control. And slowing massively at corners. Yet still do it in 23.8. So u really don’t have to be that fast. Just gentle.

Wet conditions in this game are super inconsistent. I did one race three times because I spun out on the last turn.
Yup. Got gold in 6.5 hours. Over 500 miles later. Was tough but very satisfying.

I did all gold license tests with a controller and 0 assists it was hard but rewarding in the end
Gran Turismo 4 - Mission 34 is the hardest challenge ever in gran turismo history for me.

That makes me feel good as I only need to get 3 seconds off and I have only put an hour or two into it.
That last lap was epic, well done, just one thing I’m sure it the “nine one seven” not the “ nine seventeen” I’m probably just being a pedantic wanker but I’m old it’s allowed, I saw these cars race at Brands Hatch in 1971 that too was epic.
I remember beating indy500 on the amiga with a mouse, the elation of completing something that difficult is worth the hours/weeks of frustration.

Gonna be honest, now I don't feel so bad about taking so darn long to gold this license test and improve my time a little. In my opinion, this is the most challenging license test in all of Gran Turismo from a sheer car control standpoint.
Extra challenge. Do it as your driver does, one handed, changing gears every 5 seconds. Doable? Probably not. Props to whoever does though

Hardest part of GT7 is the drifting, it doesnt help that i hate with a passion drifting but to put it into missions where you have to get gold to get the unlock cars then all i have left to say is a big FU to polyphony.
While I congratulate you on your herculean effort and time jimmer, "Super GT" Steve WILL bring the pain....

This was definitely the hardest license to get gold on, definitely when playing with an ps5 controller. If it weren't for the adaptive triggers, I would've probably never gotten gold on this one. I managed to get a 2:25:674 within just an hour of tryharding, really loved the challenge!
