Race into the world of Oban from the award-winning animated series Oban Star-Racers. Pilot the Whizzing Arrow against your foes in the Great Race for the Ultimate Prize! Jet across six different maps in Oban Dreams v.1.0 against Para-Dice, the Crogs, Hortlum Flint, Grooor and Super Racer.
Oban Dreams v.1.0 will be playable on PlayStation 4 through Dreams on December 4, 2021. On Launch day Training Map, Alwas, Whizzing Arrow and Para-Dice will be available to play. More Maps and Racers will become available in the next coming weeks.

This looks amazing, i remember thr browser game fron 15 years ago. I replayed that one single track so many times. And now there's an actual game. Once again, amazing work.

I remember the show. It scratched the itch of Star wars episode 1's podracing for me. See about getting the actual rights and maybe make a Steam game version unconnected to the Dreams platform. Maybe use Unreal engine or others.
Actually we obtain the rights to produce an official video game called Oban Star Racer’s Chance to Shine being designed on the Unreal Engine. Oban Dreams was a prototype. We are making a fully campaign, multiplayer and more on the Unreal Engine. Lots of work but so far it’s coming along!

You've done a great job so far. However I've come across a glitch in the game. If either ship collides with the side walls on the track the ship will glitch out of the track. Will future updates also include bug fixes?
Unfortunately collisions have been a major issue that we tried to fix if ship gets knocked out of map please hold down d pad up arrow to respond to your nearest respond point. This feature was designed for this because despite our best efforts it happens every once in awhile
This is so cool!! I loved this show, just now doing a rewatch of it, I would love to see a big game like this be made official!!
Would be cool if you could select any character from the story, including aliens.
And make a game like Nascar races where each car had special traits and abilities.

Man, I wish I could play this. As a sidenote, how well does dreams support screen vfx? It feels lacking of swoosh
With all honesty we pushed it to its limits. Dreams has a max memory usage. So graphics, logic, effects, map and more is all linked to memory. 40% is pure logic and 2 ships. 60% is map and other logic. We were limited to around 14 items for each map 🗺 currently each map is maxed out on memory so we can’t add more to the features. It gets more wild because the more complex logic you design Dreams updates has destroyed a lot of our complex logic systems we spent 2 years on. Honestly it’s a complicated system we had to figure out most things that took us months to design was made in days on Unreal Engine. So Dreams is more designed for kids to create not recommended to create full games. Even the avatar team on Dreams realize this too we pushed it to its limits XD

It looks great but doesn't feel very fast.
Looks fantastic but feels basic. I hope the mechanics become pure skill and do all the tricks and crazy movements in the show!
Oban Dreams has limitations on mechanics balancing the memory on Dreams with Environments, ships, logics and more adds a lot on the memory limit Dreams sets. We decided after our last update on Oban Dreams a few weeks ago to put our focus on the Official Oban Star Racer’s Chance to Shine for PC to expand on a more fun and complete experience.

Is the initial game in the Dreams CD? I ask because I don't got WiFi or internet. It am reading there'll be an update which obviously requires internet, that's what's throwing me off into confusion.

Nice work! "Star Wars: Episode I Racer" came out in 1999 and I wait game like that, since. Could you guys implement sum of the "Star Wars: Episode I Racer" mechanics and movement in to this now game? For example tilt to the side.
Would be an amazing addition to Fortnite...
