Probably my favorite Radiohead song so far! It got me really excited for the rest of this album! Also, if you liked the song that plays in the intro it's called "outside the lines" by my band LemonTech, we are on all streaming platforms :)
Love the vibe of LemonTech - awesome music! I really enjoy your reactions with your bandmate on this channel as well. Would be fun to pick a few favorite songs off OK Computer and do separate reaction videos with her after you've had a little time to process the song. She seemed to enjoy the complexity and thoughtful assembly of Tool songs right off the bat. The back and forth dialogue between two people who love and understand music always enhances the appreciation of a piece of music!
Ah, the feeling of someone who loves music listen to one of the master pieces of our time for the first time and have no idea what's about to hit them ❤. It doesn't get much better.
falling down through Radiohead's rabbit hole is one journey I wish I could take again, fresh, knowing nothing about them but experiencing all of that wonder again.
I'd fully recommend the live performance of this band doing this song live on - The Jools Holland Show. Honestly man, its their best performance of this song.
I've heard interviews with Radiohead where they talk about Paranoid Android as their "Bohemian Rhapsody" ... with multiple different movements or sections in the song.
I would bet you that if you listened to In Rainbows again you would like it a lot more everyones musical taste changes a lot of the things you like about this In Rainbows has in spades. I would reccommend the live from the basement session watching them pull off all those intricate songs perfectly live has created a lot of fans. Radiohead requires multiple listens always many of my favorite tunes were ones that I did not like much on the first couple listens.
I think that this album was one of the game changers for musicians, music back in ´97 It was considered some of the most technical, production wise. The immense perfection of Tom York, and as a band playing musician back then, I remember we had meet ups, praising Radiohead for this album in particular. I wish more people would join the adventure of some of the Danish bands that emerged from this and were/still are to this day, playing in simular "universe" as Radiohed. Bands llike Kashmir, Baal and Dizzy Mizz Lizzy. Amazing time. Amazing memories. Thank you for this reaction.
This song is so powerful! I think you really picked up a lot of that in this first listen. I would recommend listening to it from different audio sources because different pieces of the song may come out differently from those sources.
When I saw Radiohead for this tour, it was a beautiful day with scattered clouds. As they began to sing "rain down" it literally began to lightly rain upon us, then stopped a minute or so later. Magical.
If I had to pick only one Radiohead song I could listen to, it would be this one. It has everything I love about their entire catalogue, including the later albums. I find this song to be a structural cousin to Schism.
I think you're mistaken - the words are as integral to the meaning, themes and philosophy of this song as is the musical structure. They go together - sure you can enjoy each individual element, either the music, or the lyrics in their own way - but what makes this song incredible is the combination of both
This song has progressed a lot since its early roots, part 1 was more or less same, but part 2 came straight in with lyrics 'ambition.......' the rain down section came straight in with lyrics too, only repeated twice and the from a great height from a great height height hei- hallelujah it went, then god loves his children x2 was originally god loves his children, that's why he kills them, after this part it went back to part 1 to play out mellow , must admit I prefer the song in current form I believe the song was based on a bad experience in a bar in which a woman spilled her drink and turned into a sqealing maniac or something along those lines If u thought the song was strange you should check the animated video, wouldn't bother trying to react though, it's just probably the strangest thing you'll ever watch lol
I've heard this album at least a hundred times, and I still don't understand a lot of what he sings. It doesn't bother me at all. And yes, I'm too lazy to look up the lyrics. 😗

They play this live flawlessly with no taped stuff at all.
This was probably the song that first made me a huge Radiohead fan. Reckoner is my all-time favorite though.

oh my god you're back and its more radiohead thank GOD
as a musician, or just love music, Radiohead is a must. they dont do 3 minute pop songs. so so unique. pioneers.
I appreciate your reaction. I love this song so much. They are there with me for Beatles, Elliott Smith, and Radiohead are my go-tos for sure.
I just love this song. The tonal dissonance is so striking.
I'm basically the weirdest person I know, and Radiohead are my safe space lol
Same
You have to see them play live.. Sooooo good.
My favorite Radiohead song (that I’ve heard)! So cool to see you reacting to this album! I think you’d really enjoy “Hail to the Thief” as well!
The music video is stellar as well...make sure you watch it on your own time

hey, nice video! if you want the the best live version, they performed this, airbag and no surprises on jools holland back in 1997.
This song is one of their masterpieces

Great take! Radiohead and Tool are equally legendary in my eyes.
Ooh yes 😂❤amazing
You don’t need to know the lyrics to know what’s going on, dude. Stop listening with your judging head, and start listening with your feeling heart.

I think the lyrics work better if taken as *evocative* ~ like good Yes songs
