    Forever silenced...... The real pity is that all these automotive engineering marvels will never make noise again. I'm in my 70's and can remember the sights, sounds, and smells of some of these beautiful works of art as they were driven and raced. All for naught. Now sequestered in a museum, like arrowheads, coins, and other trinkets from bygone civilizations, few will miss their grandeur, but those of us that do....weep......

      I weep with you, for all the wonders and sights, sounds and smells that I'll never get to experience! I was born 10-20 years too late, seeing the things in that museum, I see the 60's, 70's and 80's were some of THE MOST INCREDIBLE Years of invention and innovation for the internal combustion engine! I could live in that Museum for years and still have not had enough time for my curiosity to wander through and see EACH and EVERY one of those incredible Engines!! Belt driven Direct-Fuel injection?!? Single and dual overhead cam?!? A Guy that designed & Built an overhead cam SBC HIMSELF for a dirt track race car?!?! And people these days can't hardly screw in a lightbulb or put together a piece of freaking furniture from IKEA, WITH DIRECTIONS! 🤣🤣🤣 I believe there IS NO School like the Old School!!!

      70 yrs here and building my last hotrod going old school Big Block Chevy 540 with a intercooler 10-71 with carbs. Staying with what I know and the music Hooker Super Comp headers make ! Hard to believe BBC is like flat head Ford motors was to us dieing out on the street. I will be driving this ride to Kroger for groceries every week. Figure this one may out last me. Took 11 months to get parts with all billet and forged plus Teflon strip seal in the billet blower. Figure if government wants to mess with our gas and freedom then I can always make my own alcohol and keep driving maybe even with less people on the road.....lol. Got a barn full of corn just in case!!! Hotrods forever and as we say on the south..."the government can kiss our grits" !!! Just little sad for the youth will miss what we enjoyed. @@stephenmitchell3569 I'm still tinkering with a pet project. A '71 International Harvester 1210 3/4 ton pickup. Long bed, step side, standard cab....just like stock. What isn't stock is the '71 Lincoln MkIII 460 and C-6 that's between the frame rails. 10.5 to 1 compression(stock), Holley EFI on a remade Weiand manifold with port injection, Hedman headers with a single O2 sensor on each side, Comp Cams mild(sic!) cam, mildly ported heads, Accel ignition, Dodge Dana 70 rear end with 4.10 gears, etc, etc.... Still working on stopping the thing! Having to make up custom disc brake stuff to fit the IH i-beam front suspension. Looking at Dodge 13 inch rotors with Chevy calipers...but.... I'm soon to be 71, just hope I last long enough to drive it...!

    The car at 18:31 is cam grinder Ed Iskinderian's famous "Gow Job" as he called it from the 1940's. Ed is still with us at over 100 years old...! It has a very interesting set of cylinder heads, probably one of a kind with exhaust valves still in the block but intake valves overhead.

      @MidwestCarLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @ThomasDeLello
      @ThomasDeLello ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@MidwestCarLife~ What seems odd to me about those cylinder heads is that the fabricator, possibly Ed himself chose to leave the exhaust valves in the block when it is the constricted exhaust savaging properties of Henry's design that limits it's potential. That is why you cannot drive a Ford V-8 flathead on the later to come Interstate Highway system that it was never designed for, it will overheat every time. In the late 1940's Zora Arkus Duntov, later of Corvette fame came up with a much better OHV conversion design for the ford block that is still available commercially. Don Garlits speculates that MoPar's R&D in the early 1950's likely "stole" Duntov's design for their magnificent "Hemi" because he notes that the intake manifold bolt pattern of the "Ardun" (Duntov's design) and MoPar's 1953 Hemi is a match. But the flathead block has only three main bearings and the Chrysler Hemi, five. Iskenderian's "Gow Job" goes to show that REAL Hot Rods" always have a story to tell...

    The cars have engines. Motors are driven by an outside source (like electricity).

    I didn’t subscribe, BECAUSE, you didn’t talk about the cars, engines, etc., when in the front part of your vlog. Hell yes, there is a lot of goodies, etc, but, they have names, tell usnwhatnyoubsee, by names, if you don’t know what they are, get some books, read, research. I recognized some flatties, some Offys, Allison’s, etc. I lost interest in,less than ten minutes.
