i for real just finished the main story after never being able to do it due to everlasting sidetracking, and it was amazing. definetly aint been this invested in anything else recently
I think one of the most underrated aspects of Skyrim is actually the story, and the characters, which is all part of why the world feels so alive and was so ripe for memes. To this day, people argue over whether Ulfric or the Empire is the correct choice. To this day, people want to send Nazeem to the cloud district. To this day, people despise Delphine and the Blades for making us choose them over goodest boi Paarthurnax. To this day, people choose Lydia as their first companion just for nostalgia’s sake. To this day, people feel cheated they can’t marry Serana. It created a world rich with lore, rich with character (albeit scarce in voice actors) and rich with immersion that immediately made you feel at home there, as all the places you can visit and all the people you meet feel real and believable. Yeah, there aren’t many fleshed out, three dimensional characters but there don’t really need to be, you just need the player to believe this is somewhere they could spend a lifetime learning all about these people and their histories and personalities and I think the game accomplishes that very well. And even in the cases that previous games did better such as the believability of rising in the ranks of the Mage’s Guild or Dark Brotherhood which are laughably easy by comparison in Skyrim, I don’t think there are any major aspects of the game - in terms of writing and storytelling - that are actively bad or unenjoyable. Even if it’s objectively poor writing, I still get a kick out of being named Archmage after using a sword for the whole quest so that’s got to count for something, lol.

I've tried getting into Skyrim years ago, but it never clicked for me. Still, it's amazing that Skyrim has lasted for a decade now. Very few games managed to achieve this feat.
That’s me with the Witcher 3 man I can’t get into it I’ll play like 3 hrs of the beginning and forget about it, hopefully when the next gen version comes out I can find playthrough it
@@EternalNightingale Witcher 3 is one of those games where a lot is dumped on you from the start and is hard to get into at first, but if you get past say the 10 hour mark like i did, its easily top 10 for my singleplayer games.
@@HayilCrowz after the first few days of the game being broken it was the only way i found, wasn’t a big deal really because i wasn’t using any so i could try to get all the trophies. I had no idea how long they were going to take to fix it
They haven't made anything like it, not exactly, in this whole time. That's depressing lol I don't mind re-releases as much when it comes to a new platform, OR they expand the backend of the game for better mod support.
I dunno man, I gave skyrim a chance multiple times and it's just an awful, awful game. Will never understand why people regard it to such a high standard. Deluded players
I'm currently on my first playthrough about 50 hours in and loving it. Sure it's outdated in a lot of areas, but there's so much detail in the open world. I would definitely suggest mods tho, setting it up takes ages but the much improved graphics make it so much better. If there is one old game out there that is worth the hassle of modding to bring it somewhat up to modern standards, it's this game

Nah man - it isn't the best and is outright crap in some areas (the combat, quests, characters etc)
But it is a really good game overall
The magic in Skyrim comes in creating your own character and being able to be literally anything you want in a reasonably immersive way
