Thank you for your tips! I am slowly morphing into vintage clothing because that is what attracts me. I want to sell clothing that I adore and the modern overpriced labels are not doing it for me. I really love your channel and the info you provide! Thanks!!
I go back and forth so much with the same problem myself. Modern labels can sell for a lot if you have the right stuff but I'm just so passionate about vintage. Sometimes you need to just do what makes you happy
Hi Laura, what a very positive and motivating video about steps for a vintage clothing business from someone who lives and breathes it! I'm not a vintage seller per se except that I've been selling off my personal clothing and belongings from many years in business traveling mostly internationally from the early 80's to 2000-2015. So this was very helpful! There were some really good points that you made specific to vintage. :) Thanks Laura, Pat
I just sold an early 1990's Evan Picone sweater vest. Mock neck, extra large and black...I think it was the most on trend thing in my shop. Sold it to an actual grandpa 🥰
I am all over yr answer the eraly 2000's are coming back. Yup I noticed that. Kids wearing the stuff I did makes my hart felf. I got 1950s vintage and yes keep the Where close x. Finding vintage at goodwill is like getting hit x a Meteor. She is right on Google don't have any. Look at tags learn them
You are the best! Would like to do better on Ebay...thinking my prices are to high?, though maybe its the items? Ready to give it up on Ebay...not interested in Poshmark, have been selling on Etsy from near the beginning of etsy but mostly in the last 3 years with over 500 sales in that time...part time but lots of hours in research and a lifetime of vintage love. Wondering if it would be good to end the Ebay listings and start over...have sold some higher price items there but so so slow here????
I feel ya! The most success I find on ebay is mixing vintage and modern. It's hard to run just a vintage shop. But consistency also helps me. When I list items daily is when I see sales. But don't give up on ebay! It's worth it in my opinion for the good days
@@lauravonv My husband always says ....do both...I guess I really know I have to post more on EBay, thank you for the reinforcement...have not mixed vintage and modern there, just been listing great stuff I can't pass up that is not vintage on ebay...will try mixing. Love that you share really great, you have such heart and style!.
Okay so I know no one's going to straight up tell me where to find vintage... but how do you even go about it? My best guess is.. you just have to start, get out there among these sellers, and then eventually someone will let you in on a good source?
Honestly my number one source was goodwill and goodwill outlets. You can definitely find local rag houses and also sourcing online from other sellers seems to be very popular at the moment.
True story: I've been selling vintage since the 80's, when I worked full-time at a vintage shop. Also me: fooled by a thrift store jumpsuit that looked like one I bought in Soho in a trip to NYC in the late 80's. Turns out to have been 2010 does 80's 🤔
Ahhhh you've probably found so many cool items!!!! But also yes the struggle is real 😂 I for sure have a few items in my personal wardrobe I thought was vintage but ended up keeping for myself because it turned out to be a reproduction 😑
Ummm yess. My husband watched Crystal skull show, and after a free minutes of watching he cane up with skull 💀 of doom- and we drank! It was epic. So during early shutdown we found a few others,; ancient aliens 👽 is funny when they propose a question/ “ancient theorists say”... then you SIP 🍷 What others have done?
Need to change the title honey! You’re focus is obviously clothes however, vintage is more than just clothes!!!! Please list your videos as how to sell vintage clothes on Etsy.
Thank you for vocalizing opinions on sources! It takes work.
I sell vintage jewelry and scarves. My daughter is just opening her vintage t-shirt business. This has been very helpful. Thank you
got a lot of positive energy from your words! Thank you so much🥰

Omg the floral Kimono🤩🤤
Yes many 80s items took style from 1940s which it’s really cool! Puff sleeves, jackets, blazers, Art Deco got a bit wild in 80s
This was such a great video. Realistic but with an encouraging tone! Love it.
Thank you! Glad you liked it! Vintage can be hard but it's so worth it in the end

Such a good video! I'm not building a vintage shop, but I love love vintage and your videos so I had to watch anyway. Great tips, Laura! xo
Thanks for the tips and encouragement! Definitely a fav! Cheering for us both in the consistency! 😆
We got this!!! 😂 Consistency is not my strong point but man oh man we gotta do it!
So much truth! I think consistency is the one thing I'll forever be learning to achieve in each stage of growth, but working on it! haha
Same! 😂 It's the hardest part for me and yet I think one of the most important! We can do this!
👗VINTAGE is the new Black
I wonder if Out of business clothing brand names can be considered vintage, such as Leslie Fay (I see so much of that brand) or Evan Picone?
