Creator God pours out His creativity, skill, musical talent on people. What a blessing to see such worship oriented music!!!! Peace originates with the maker of all peace, Praise U Jesus!! Peace :)
at first time i heard this version i was thrilled and chilled ...i am so inspired in listening the song fine voices i heard the beauty of bass,, the blend of tenor and soprano and the soothe of alto
For those that don't appreciate the "religious" version of this song there are many other sites that just play Canon in D.....why come to one that states right up front that it is a gospel version, only to complain that it is a religious version?!?! Go to one of the other sites and let those of us that enjoy the beautiful blend listen to this one.
another great canon of praise as seeking one version heard on radio i came to hear three. all wonderful and ill need to add this to my praise and worship collection
Gospel Acappella Choir. Canon (Pachelbel) "Jesus, let us come to know you, let us see you face to face. Touch us, hold us, use us, mould us, Only let us live in you. Jesus draw us ever nearer, hold us in your loving arms. Wrap us in your gentle presence. When the end comes, bring us home." Lyrics written by Michael Card in reference to Philippians 3:10 "I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection."
JESUS LET US COME TO KNOW YOU (by Michael Card) ----------------------------- Jesus, let us come to know you; Let us see You face to face. Touch us, hold us, use us, mold us; Only let us live in You. Jesus, draw us ever nearer; Hold us in your loving arms. Wrap us in your gentle presence; And when the end comes bring us home
While I'm no fan of reworked classical music: compliments, particularly on the arrangement, very tastefully done. Also recording is professional level and I like the lead singers whisper singing.
If my high school choir had done this song in compatition, we would have blown the other schools away and walked away with first place instead of third
Everything that honors that which Christians believe in comes under attack from supposed 'atheists'; why, oh WHY must you leave such hateful comments? (why even come here; look at the title!) However, I will say this doesn't do justice to the original version by Pachelbel; but it wasn't designed for that purpose; it was designed to bring honor to Jesus.
@JUDEL07 "Jesus, let us come to know you, let us see you face to face. Touch us, hold us, use us, mold us, only let us live in you. Jesus draw us ever nearer, hold us in your loving arms. Wrap us in your gentle presence. When the end comes, bring us home." The hymnal I use says it was written by Michael Card in 1982 and is in reference to Philippians 3:10 "I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection." I hope this helps even if it's late. :)
@Dewberrydrops And my last point (maybe) is that the performers/arrangers obviously did not have the same perspective that you do. They do not consider that taking one of the best-known pieces in the world and changing it to honor their God an act of vandalism; rather, they are worshipping Him with a piece already considered beautiful. So it actually depends on the worldviews that you, me, and everyone else already has, as to whether or not changing the piece up could be considered vandalism.
Those of you that have said the Canon was spoiled by putting religious lyrics in it, did you NOT notice that the first 1:25 is not part of the canon. From 1:26-4:12, HEY...there's no religious lyrics and they're singing the canon! Amazing how ignorant people are.
When I was little, I used to listen to a version very similar to this. It was on a cassette tape. It was a duet between a man and a woman. I know that's not a lot to go on, but does anyone know where I can find that version? I've been looking for it for hours. >.
THANKS TO ALL for your comment ! 'really appreciate. agree that it's a Beautifull versions. This make me think that I should upload my others versions of Pachelbel's Canon.
@Dewberrydrops Need an extra post cause I ran out of characters (LOL); classical composers are been copying each other's works in 'grotesque parodies' since notation was invented! WHY would THIS particular SONG be unjustified (bearing in mind it doesn't have the same purpose as pure music, being a praise song)?
@Skippydekangaroo I guess you need an explanation. The "lyrics" for the first 1:25 are not to the melody of the Pachelbel Canon. The only part in the first 1:25 that's related to the Canon is the base line. The melody isn't. Now you understand and should feel ignorant.
I’ve been listening to this for 12+ years absolutely beautiful
Probably the most beautiful male vocals I've ever heard. That man has the voice of an angel. God bless him and bless you Jesus.
My best music son👍

Good sound! From where are these voices?
