Great idea! I once took a power bank with me on a camping trip to charge my phone, only to forget the USB cable. I felt like such a muppet. Fortunately I was able to borrow one from a mate, but now I have a sticky label attached to it telling me to pack the USB cable. This is a great idea by Anker for those grab and go in a hurry situations, like during all the tornado outbreaks we are having in Ohio of late.
I have this and I like it but something that bothers me about it is the shape/size of the power bank in combination with the length of the attached cable. Given that the cable is so short if you need to use the phone for anything while it's charging with that cable you'd need the to hold the bank behind the phone but because it's so wide it is hard to hold both the bank and your phone on top of it. It feels too clunky. I personally would prefer to see it be slimmer even if that means the device needs to be longer and wider. I often find myself using an external cable for this reason instead of the included cable. This would also make it easier to slip both devices in my pocket while charging.
I absolutely HATE built-in cables! If the cable goes bad, you've lost an entire port. Plus, it just looks bad - the 533 looks so much better. Lastly, it makes sure you can not use a higher quality cable even if you wanted ir needed to. If they would lose the cable, id like the nano better than the 533.
Mokin makes a pimp one.. I’m with you though. It screams Tacky. But.. The one I’m talking about does 65w and the attached type c tucks in way nice and both ends are removable if you don’t want it on.. so not permanent attached. It uses a right-angle connector to stay flush. Oh and they cost like $40 which is killer for all the PD and PPS charge modes they have.
thanks for a GENUINE review :) p.s. while I like this power bank, there are two things that annoy me - the built-in cable which is way too short, and even shorter because of that clip that holds it in place, and the shape of the power bank, way too bulky, when it should have been flatter, size of cell phone. That said, I might have seen some info on anker power banks that they use TWO charging units (or 'batteries', whatever you call them) inside, perhaps that's the reason for the shape. And well, pass-through charging while topping up would be useful. Also, the button is in an awkard place, but that's a minor annoyance.
All very good points. One of the things I like about anchor devices is they constantly iterate on the versions so perhaps in a future version they will address some of your concerns.
@Wanderer001_Reviews Those cables aren't good enough for me either. I like premium cables with power displays, LEDs and 240W capabilities. I absolutely hate built in cables. If the cable goes bad, you've lost an entire port. Plus it looks bad. The 533 is much more elegant looking.
@@RationallySkeptical I use an oscilloscope with my tablet. The tablet at about 75% battery doesn’t supply enough power to run the oscilloscope. I run a type C powered hub and supply power to that with a battery bank. I just thought it would be nice if there were a hub with a built it battery. It’s not as messy as it sounds.
@@RationallySkeptical I can give you a realistic scenario: I am away, found a wall plug, want to top up power bank AND my mobile / cell which is dying. AND I don't have an unlimited amount of time to do both. Made up scenario? Well, an airport lounge is one, when people 'fight' for available plugs. A camp site with very few plugs in the showers, when you don't want to leave your devices to recharge overnight.
First charge samsung s23, it can super fast charge (25W), after like 2 min, it will come back to 15W and after that how many way I've tried, it just charge 25W. I had changed the power bank once and exact same problem happened. Anyone know solution of this problem, please help me 😭😭
I have seen the same with multiple powerbanks and wall chargers (GaN). Only the original Samsung wall charger seems capable of charging the S23 at 25w constant. It has to do something with the current/voltage tolerances built into the S23.

@Wanderer001_Reviews you do it when it's easiest for you theres alot of reviews out there on it already. @@ilikeitwhatisit6749 No idea really. I know they tired two times with an outdoor battery powered camera but both were not as good as their indoor outdoor cameras.
Anker did think about that and the power bank can be charged via the top port on the battery and still has two USB ports that can be used to charge devices should the attached cable every stop working.
Also the cable is very decent while it’s flexible. It’s been more than a year I’m thanking having an integrated cable so I don’t have to take care of another cable. The cable itself, port, and connector side have no sign of use after all these months of heavy use.

I like the idea too. Can just pack one thing and not have to worry about "extras" which I am sure we have all forgotten at one point or another.

The cable doesn’t go bad though. I’ve had this more than a year and cable is as decent and secure as it was new. The pros are better than cons.
I'm wondering how well the cable will fold flat so you can pack it tightly, I imagine it will wreck the cable at the crease.
I have pinned it down with a rubber band. Does not seem to hurt it in the short term.
when i realized the same cable could be used to charge my phone and recharge the power bank, i could hardly believe it! what a great idea.
It's pretty good.

How many phone chargers do u get before u need to recharge powerbank
Depends on the size of your phones battery. I can generally get 1.5 for my pixel 8.
How durable is the built in cable though?
Better then some charging cables I have gotten before. I would say on par with anything you get from your Andorid phone or iOS phone.
@@Wanderer001_ReviewsiOS PHONE?!? iPhone cables literally deteriorate fast near the end of the cable though
@@JDRos Alright as good as anything you get from Android. Never had that issue with any of my Pixel phone cables.

Will the Nano pass data through any of the ports to the devices? Say even just a keyboard or data storage?
It does not.
Why would anyone ever need it to?

what happens when you plug that built in cable back into the powerbank😅😅
Infinite power. 😱
Thanks, great video! Why do you think it drops charging speed sometimes?
It can if your device is not rapid changing any more.

I am considering it. I am not on their preferred reviewer list. So I don't get one early to review I have to purchase it for myself to review.
