Not sure. I’ve seen some places do it after service but I don’t know about from the factory. As long as it’s the blue stuff you should be in good shape to get it out with regular wrenches. Maybe just sticky since it’s the first time it came out from the factory. Heat will sometimes swell the bolts a bit too! Were you able to get it all done?
Glad to know I’m not the only one who didn’t catch the oil filter mess. Just did my first oil change and did the exact same thing. Luckily I did it on top of a piece of cardboard. Good video!
Great video! Mine is getting delivered Monday and I just wanted to learn as much about it as possible. I’ll definitely be subscribing to see what else you do to yours. Thank you!
Cut the bottom of a gallon on milk to make a small low profile oil pan to slide under the oil filter to catch that bit of oil that drips from the filter as you unscrew it. Your driveway will thank you!
So I am pretty savvy with this kinda stuff, but I like a confirmation. You did a great job showing this, and honestly made it pretty entertaining. I say keep making similar videos and have fun with it.
Thank you for your comment! I had gotten discouraged with posting these but (thanks to you) I have a new upload coming later today and am filming another video that will come out in a couple of weeks. Seriously! Thank you for your kind comment.
Do you have any info on the lubrication points? I only found 2 grease fittings on the castor wheels, no where else. I assume the spindles would need grease but can’t find a fitting. Any important lube points?
I have now watched 2 videos on servicing a cub cadet and no one lubes the grease fittings or rubs a little oil on the rubber seal for the new oil filter. This one doesn't even cover blade sharpening. LOL
On this mower the only grease fittings are for front wheels, All of the pulleys are sealed. He did put oil on the seal of the new oil filter in this video. . I like replacing blades with new ones instead of sharpening, JMO. I just didn't understand why he jacked it up or lift up the front wheels to just change oil. I changed mine with all wheels on the ground.
Pull the dip stick up a bit and it will drain faster. Square plug? Wow they just pull what ever they had on the shelf haha, mine has 1/2 tapered bolt . ; )
I haven’t found anything that lasts for a full season in the East Texas sand. However, I’ve had decent luck with Gator blades from Oregon lasting longer than other brands.
So how often do you have to change the little fuel filter and spark plugs? I'm assuming it's not everytime you change the oil but I honestly don't know...
I normally service it before every mowing season including oil, filters, and spark plugs. There are a lot of different schools of thought (every 50 hours, every 25 hours) but for personal use on an average sized property, once a season works for me!
Umm, never seen so many gaffes. Why not edit the first mistake by cutting out the attempt to drive the mower on front jackstands. Almost funny though, but if I want comedy...
Great video!👍🏻🤣
I appreciate how raw this video is. Throw in some curse words and a little blood and it’s just how smoothly it went for me.
Thank you! Plenty of both for me. Next time I'll leave them in :)
Just got my zero turn and fixing to do the first 5 hour oil change. Thanks for the help!
Nice! How’s it running so far?
@@nontgarage9819 oh I love it. I have about an acre to mow. Gets the job done quick!
@@nontgarage9819 took me a bit to get that oil drain plug out. What do they do, locktite it?

@@nontgarage9819 yeah I got it off with an adjustable and a socket. Was something red sealed in it.
That was very informative(?) & entertaining! Thank you!
Little tip if you pour the new oil with the opening on top instead of the bottom it doesn’t clug out and pours smooth
i put a little oil on the pre filter and make sure the old oil filters rubber seal comes of with the old filter

Smart move! No matter how many times I do it, I always seem to spill some…
lol you had me walking back outside to make sure i got the plugs on the correct side.
Omg where are your jack stands
Buddy almost passed away from drinking oil so thanks man thanks a lot I didn’t know it could actually hurt him
Just spreading awareness!
Great Commentary and Real world work--need to make More videos
Great video, thanks! Subscribed!
Thank you!
Very funny 😅 but I learned from your mistakes.
And I have fired my mower mechanic, because, if you can do it, anyone can. Thanks! 😂
Exactly!

Awesome! Thank you. I’m sure you’ll love yours. Mine has been great so far.
Good lord that filter was dirty. Your engine will thank you!
Definitely! Wait until the next one where I change blade. The sand just chews through them…

Lmao your channel would be exactly what would happen to me if I filmed myself especially the taping the flap up
It’s generally pure chaos for me!

Dont forget to grease those muffler bearings 😁
Yes! I always do that right after I change my blinker fluid…

This is an oil change video not a maintenance video. There is more to the maintenance.

Came here for this exact answer…?

Hand tight on the filter bubs.
I try not to over tighten, but I’ve had a lot of leaky filters…
What are those Metle clips below the oil filter?
could you give a link to that specific kit
Hilarious bro!
Used oil? Mix a little diesel in it and its great to get bon fires going.
Where do get the this hitch adapter??
I'm pretty sure you are supposed to oil that green filter media.
We need a video about fixing the drive belt (I think). The print popped off and the belt is loose
I’ll take a look!
i have a ZT2 60" unit has anyone found thicker blades that will last longer? i live in Florida and the Florida sand tears up the Cub blades so fast
I haven’t found anything that lasts for a full season in the East Texas sand. However, I’ve had decent luck with Gator blades from Oregon lasting longer than other brands.
My secret for getting rid of oil is mailing it to the White House.
Bold choice!
Sorry, but this was just a little too goofy for me

Haha, agreed! But you just never know!
