- Today we are checking out the BEST Cheap Eats Asian Bakery in Honolulu, Hawaii. I have to say 85 Degree C Bakery and Cafe lives up to all the hype. It is seriously the best Asian bakery in Hawaii right now. So if you are in the mood for savory treats, or you want some coffee, boba milk tea or desserts this cheap eats bakery is the place to go. It is located in the Ala Moana Shopping Center at the upper parking deck.

Have you tried 85 degree C Bakery yet? If so what do you like getting there?
Did they scream, "Fresh Bread!" when you were there? It's pretty funny. My favorite thing from 85° is their mango cake. Great review.
What time did you go?
I heard them scream something but I couldn't make out what they were saying.
I went when they opened at 10am
I love their milk bread

I am so happy to hear they are at Ala Moana now can't wait to go there in January! We went to the one outside of Houston by Galveston a few times when we were there - they are AWESOME!

85 is good, even very good. Very much like paris baguette [a korean bakery chain], i imagine they will open in Hawaii in the future. i think hawaii has its own nitch with baked goods that you can't find elsewhere. as a nonlocal, i think i would be more interested in that. thanks for sharing.👌

We just refer to them as 85 degrees in L.A. and the hype will wear off eventually, but their products are good
I'm not a fan. I think that there are far better bakeries in Honolulu. I prefer King's Hawaiian Bakery in Torrance, CA.

There's at least one by Portland, Oregon, that my sister goes to. I've only had the Marble Taro roll, and while it's okay, it has always been undercooked. Like, the bread is sticky and chewy as if it wasn't done baking. Popping it into a toaster oven seems to work, though, then it's okay.

There is a bunch of 85 store in Northern California it okay only in my opinion the Portuguese egg tarts is good

Aloha Charles, it's hard for me to get very excited over our bakeries here in Hawaii. European bakeries in France and Switzerland have spoiled me for life.
I'm DISAPPOINTED at 85 degree bakery. I wanted to eat the things you ate. But they never get. The cream cheese/jalapeno, the guy neva know what I was talking about.

C’mon, AC! There are so many better Asian bakeries on the isle than this chain. It is like saying Starbucks has the best coffee. 85 is over rated.

I agree with you Magnum. I don’t think the buns even look good. He hyped up a hot dog bun with “I don’t know what kind of hot dog they use” as if it’s some special hot dog. 😂
I wouldn’t line up for those buns 😂. Seriously…looks nothing special to me.
