A nice short and well thought out story.............and a brilliant companion. Well done. I've been watching DW since 1963 and this leaves me wanting more. Thank you
God damn. The acting, the intro, the Doctor's entrance, everything's perfect! It just feels like a real Doctor Who episode! I NEED MORE!!!!! Hell, if you ever need a new guy via regeneration, just call me, m8.
Honestly in terms of fan films this one is the best by far! The only reason for such harsh judgement is because you can see the producers and writers can do amazing things! Keep up the great work!
Easily the best Doctor Who Fan creation on here. I like that you all worked within your limitations as film-makers. Didn't try to overload it with any super dooper CGI. Kept it about the characters, and kept it short. We use to film all of our stuff with a T3i. When you get the chance upgrade to a Black Magic Pocket Cam, that HDR problem will go away instantly (We shot our The Fault in Our Stars, fan adaptation on that if you are looking for a reference.) Congrats on this. I'd say watch your sound, and keep an eye out on the little things. (I saw the foot at the bottom of the barn door when it shut.) But it's very solid.
This is great! I loved the way you filmed it, the acting, everything! Your effort is amazing! I'm sure they'd love it, and I love the fact that it's the 10th doctor. I wonder who that was at the end, such a cliffhanger I want to knowww!
So this really impressed me. Bellamy reminds me of a young Nathan fillion. Great presence and very good facial expressions/mannerisms. One of the few people I am confident could make it as an actor (in time, of course). Very well shot and overall well written. My only critique is that some of the nighttime shots were grainy/noisy but of course that's just working with the gar you got as indie film makers which is understandable. I would say this was better than season 8 but that's like saying man of steel was better than superman returns: it's an understatement ! Once again, all around great job.
Not a terrible foray into the realm of fan films. Though, I'd recommend getting the costumes right in future projects. Not bad going for the Abbeyshot long coat, but the suit was wrong, as was the tie. Bellamy's hair, however, was great. The shirt color was also good, as was the button-down collar. Also, the Wand Co. makes a lovely, and more screen accurate version of the sonic than the Character Options toy. Again, for a film that seems like a test run, this stuff isn't imperative, but helps make these sorts of projects seem much more polished when the correct pieces are in place. Something for next time. Also, I'm not sure I find it attractive that The Doctor tacitly supports Kat's murder of the lead baddie. Ten at least offers help once before cutting someone off ("no second chances"), and this wasn't even attempted here. Kat did it instead, and made the decision herself. Bellamy also seems to be channeling 11 at the beginning. He has great potential, just has to work on his mannerisms a bit.
Wow, this is one of the best fan films out there. May not have as great of sets as others but this is by far the best script, actors, and just the most fun and smart with a spirit of adventure that only came in classic who. I'd love to see you guys do more, like creating your own Doctors? Also, do you have any behind the scenes footage? I'd love to see the direction, locations, time crunches went into it. Only wish I could have been involved in such a great project.
Zach Hessemer Thank you for your very kind words! That really was my intention for the film: very fun and full of adventure. We do have BTS footage, and I'm putting together a video of that and some of the outtakes, which should be out in a week or so. As for more... we'll just have to wait and see. This isn't my first foray into Doctor Who, and it probably won't be the last. Check out our 50th anniversary short if you want to see more.
Hi, another technical question...lol. What did you use for sound? Boom mikes, voice over, or did the actors wear mic pacs? Also, I really enjoyed this one. I'm seriously impressed with the professional quality, and it was really well written. Bravo.
I've watched a few random Doctor Who fan films now, and I gotta say apart from the guy who plays The Doctor, everything is pretty dam good, Companion is interesting, the setting is GORGEOUS and the plot is engaging, so VERY well done!
This was actually pretty good. Although the plot could've been written out a little better, and the accents a little more British. But otherwise, great fan video!
excellent work!! can I ask what camera you used and what editing software? I want to make a doctor who film too but windows movie maker is pretty limited. thanks
+Peter Powis Hey Peter! For this short we used a Canon EOS Rebel T2i and Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 to edit. It's pretty pricey and a bit difficult to learn, so I'd recommend trying something like Sony Vegas Studio if you want more advanced editing capabilities.
+VUE Productions (Trevor Van Winkle) Thanks so much! I have a really cheap camera but will look into other movie makes like the Sony Vegas :)Love fan made Doctor Who videos and yours is right at the top, so keep posting!! :)
That was easily the singlw greatest thing i ahve ever seen in my entire life up this point, every one involves deservess an oscar an emmy a toni and a grammy ezpecially that prime mixing doe.
We used a Canon T2i with Magic Lantern firmware mod. As to video quality, we had a great director of photography and worked within the resources we had available, all of which help to increase production value.
Nicely done this could have been an episode in real time there's an idea coming what if there's two different Doctors travelling through out different dimensions in time and space such a challenge to have the opportunity of multiple dimensions a pocket tardis universe where he or she takes different routes through time never meeting almost never? Who(?) the ghost time ultimate time Lords 10th meeting 10th if the laws of time permit this chaos of course there's no telling which who is breaking that law?
This guy did ok as Doctor Ten, but I'd just bet he'd have been better as Doctor Eleven. JMO. Oh, and is there a sequel? I've searched but haven't found it.
Okay first of all. The supposedly "tenth Doctor" sounds more like Matt Smith then David Tennant. And... it looks more like the scene from when adult Amelia Pond met the 11th Doctor!
One of the better fan films I have seen but it would have been better if he did a different doctor like 18 or 20 or someone who hasn't happened yet just because then t doesn't matter what he looks like and he doesn't have to have a accent
+ItzJustBryce Agreed. The point of the doctor regenerating is to stop a weird 'try to get another actor that looks, talks and acts similar to this one' from happening. Yet that is what they went for purposely? Just a weird thing to go for. Anywho.
We absolutely LOVED this! It will be our "Fan Film Review" in Issue #6 of Cos&FX Magazine, due out at the end of Feb '16. . . our Dr. Who issue! www.cosfxmag.com (oh, and it's FREE to download).
This was the best fan film I've seen. But here's everything wrong with it: The Doctor didn't have an English accent. He sounded more American by the end At the end, the doctor should've explained that if the girl went into the TARDIS he could just take her back to when she left so no one would knew she left He should've used his psychic paper to fool her and act like it was an invitation The TARDIS was too clean and the windows were white not yellow Only Time Lords and Daleks can use Time Lord science. Also a TARDIS has to be grown on Gallifrey so I don't understand how the Naveron got one.
I agree with most of these, but dude this is an indie fan film with a kid cast. To hold it to industry standards is incredibly unfair. If you've ever made a film in your life, you should know how difficult filmmaking is. There are hundreds of crew members on a film and this group of kids had to be all of them. I understand your critiques and actually agree with them but please focus on how great of a job these kids did instead of holding them to impossible standards. - an aspiring filmmaker
1. Wrong accent? Really you're going to pick on the film for that. 2. Maybe he only wanted a companion, if she wanted to be, so to speak. 3. He didn't want things to be too easy. 4. Wrong colour windows? Are you actually serious? 5. The Tardis doesn't need to be grown on Gallifrey, if you have a chunk of Tardis and the life span to last how long it takes/make it faster you'll have no trouble.
***** 1. Its not Doctor Who if its not British 2. Listen to what she said and actually listen this time 3. That makes no sense 4. Its how you differentiate the TARDIS from the other ones 5. But the last TARDIS was destroyed on Gallifrey and how could the Naveron gotten a chuck of the 10th doctors TARDIS if it was fully intact?
Eren Jaeger You raised some legitimatize criticisms here. I'll try and give my best answer. 1. Maybe Bellamy's accent did begin to slip towards the end, but I was more concerned that he conveyed the spirit of the character, which I think he did exceptionally. 2. Kat's point was that if she went with him, she wouldn't want to come back. She understood she could physically come back the moment after she left, but she also knew that if she traveled with him she'd only stop if she was lost or died along the way. 3. He could have used the psychic paper, but do you really think Kat would trust anything a stranger in a trench coat who just appeared in front her said? 4.Woops. Didn't add those details. 5.The backstory on Alrick's TARDIS, which we ended up cutting, was that it was an ancient TARDIS (a type II compared to the Doctor's obsolete type 40) abandoned by early time lords and left in a Judoon impound lot, which Alrick found and took for his flagship.
You’ve got a lot of Tennant mannerisms down but the voice completely undercuts it. Really need to work on that “Scottish man doing a British accent” accent. Your doctor sounds very American

"Fantastic" one of the best fan made episodes I've seen
This Fan-Film was so good that...
a sequel must be made.
I agree.
Honestly in terms of fan films this one is the best by far! The only reason for such harsh judgement is because you can see the producers and writers can do amazing things! Keep up the great work!
Good job! It's one if the best fan made films I've seen. Good work, I hope to see more from you guys.
That was one of the best fan films I've seen...
Triple thumbs up :)
The fact that it took the Doctor at least one regeneration to remember he left the Sonic Screwdriver had me howling, I admit.
I think he died without his screwdriver

This is..BRILLIANT! I have something to watch while I wait on season 9!! Please make more! :)
2:52 oh, hello was delivered perfectly!
WOW the Actor of the Doctor is just amazing
Very good! You really did a fantastic job of channeling David Tenant, impressive!
This is awesome great job on catching 10s characteristics
The doctor drinking a slurpee is the most fitting thing and i don't understand why 😂😂
The most pleasant to watch fan film I have ever seen
The logo during the opening credits had a QUESTION MARK?!?!
Nah. Someone doesn't know Doctor Who.
Some top notch camera work you have here.
He played Tennant so well!
you have created something very special there
Jack,,dude it doesn't matter!
This was great!
This was brilliant!
The guy who plays the doctor is pretty cute
This is great! I loved the way you filmed it, the acting, everything! Your effort is amazing! I'm sure they'd love it, and I love the fact that it's the 10th doctor. I wonder who that was at the end, such a cliffhanger I want to knowww!
Great work!
brilliant, very brilliant, and a great inspiration! :D
This is so amazing! Love it!
Loved it. Very good. Hilarious Doctor entrance. Brilliant fan film.
:O WOWWOWWOWWOWWOWWOWWOWWOWWOW FANTASTIC! Great acting! Great camera work. Great! New subscriber!
Masterfully Done
channeling the 11th doctor while dressed as the 10th doctor.

omg this was "brilliant!" you should make a series!
She yelled out hello and the TARDIS came after that?! Now I know what I'm going to do this weekend. :D
We need a sequel...like now.
John Wilson Or a series...
YESSS
he acted just like The 10th doctor, aka David Tennant :D I loved every second of it :D Great job :D

For this, we used a very simple shotgun mic on a boom for the dialogue.
Good acting and good script very impressed
you play a good 10th doctor seriously
I love it, could have used a bit more background music though
ha ha the Doctor comes out with a slushie!!! XD
It's Banana flavored.
Cool
+VUE Productions (Trevor Van Winkle) I assume he just got back from a party then.
Amazing!
I've watched a few random Doctor Who fan films now, and I gotta say apart from the guy who plays The Doctor, everything is pretty dam good, Companion is interesting, the setting is GORGEOUS and the plot is engaging, so VERY well done!

good job this is canon for me
Awesome
OH come on I just wanted one look of who came out of the tardis.
+*Merinakate Crystal*
He likely had regenerated. That's why she said 'Who are you?'
Good job
I really really like this so far
like really really
Kevin MacLeod is a great source of music, use him for my own fan film, Professor Who The Lost Son.
Good stuff.
The best ever!!! Loved the Doctor. I would watch this series for real!!!
nice job
If you don't mind by me asking, what kind of camera do you use? And how did you get your video to such amazing quality? Thank you! c:
We used a Canon T2i with Magic Lantern firmware mod. As to video quality, we had a great director of photography and worked within the resources we had available, all of which help to increase production value.

My hypothesis. Either Kat lost her memory because the Doctor was like the Silence. Orrrrrr, the Doctor regenerated.
I love hearing these references: Doctor Who?
Just amazing 😀
Your awsome playing doctor who

not the best, but looks good and i love that doctor actor, he is really pushing it to the max!
Are there going to be anymore episodes, may I ask? A sequel to the "Who the hell are you?" Line?
WoW me Too I want to make a Doctor Who Fan-Film
I only have one question to ask, ...Who came out of the T.A.R.D.I.S. at the End???
This guy did ok as Doctor Ten, but I'd just bet he'd have been better as Doctor Eleven. JMO. Oh, and is there a sequel? I've searched but haven't found it.

Eren Jaeger my problem with number one is the doctor can have any accent. It's just how regeneration works.
Great episode. We really enjoyed it, We make fanfilms too :)
Christ. I tried. But I can't. I just can't get into it.
You’ve got a lot of Tennant mannerisms down but the voice completely undercuts it. Really need to work on that “Scottish man doing a British accent” accent. Your doctor sounds very American
consider subscribing? in that case consider it done!
4:08 Is that the TIK TOK music?
Very Tennant-y.
nice
stop with the royalty free music please as a pointer stop using it it cheapens a fan film other than that good job
he play if he is david Tenant.....brillant
So, blue box appears, guy gets out, she draws a gun on him, keeps gun on him for half the episode for no apparent reason. What is this rubbish?
nice jod
I think this would have been better if it was an original doctor. Also, it's called _Doctor Who_, not _Doctor Who?_
NO!!!NO!!!NO!!!NO!!!
It's Wot
Not what
i liked it but, the doctor didn't do shit
allonsy
Exactly why America should be banned from Doctor Who.Americans say Doctor who too weird, and Im American!
