Thank you, Pastor Curtis! Thank you for the reminder that examining ourselves is so important. It's easy to fall into fall into sin, especially those we would consider "small" sins like judging others' motives and/or the hypocrisy of judging others with a different measuring stick than we judge ourselves by, gossip, etc. But these are all sin and serve to put a barrier between us and God. They negatively impact our relationship with Him and grieve the Holy Spirit. Thank you for your time today in helping us to more fully understand the Scriptures so we can grow in Christ. 😊
Two of the most important words you said are, "and then" when reading the Bible. What does the Bible say? AND THEN what does it say for or to you?? So many folks reverse it to think God's word is about us. Great teaching once again, Curtis. Thank you, Brother!!!
Good morning Pastor Curtis - great illustration about repentance "about-face" 180 from what we were doing. A good reminder when the Lord speaks. A very relevant word for the culture we currently face and live in.
In NY when you are batting .320 everyone loves you, recognizes you, pulls, and applauds for you with many accolades. However, beware, when you struggle and hit .210 no one is sympathetic, they will boo and disapprove of you until you are traded or run out of town. A baseball parable to think of when one is up or down. Teammates often encourage and help the one struggling until he recovers and exceeds mediocrity. We all need one another, with Christ at the center if we are to win pennants and championships.
If you spend all your time tooting your own horn, really how busy are you, and what good have you accomplished. Much better for others to speak well of one than to point it out, and demand it.
Don’t call them father, pastor, reverend, bishop, or other titles or ranking in church Why not Brother? Wouldn't calling the church leaders brother enough?

Those woes are for all haughty Bible teachers of today as well.
When we are guilty of putting up a "show" what then happens for an encore, or after the show in private?
