    I don't see how this is useful? The moment you "reconnect" your phone and the icloud, they will sync up again and either all the data will download to my phone again, OR all will be deleted in the cloud. How do I sync them so that my library on my phone is empty but everything is saved in the cloud?

      Agreed, complete useless. What’s the point doing this. I just need to delete some from my phone and keep it in iCloud as a backup

      You should instead see iCloud sync service between your devices. If you want to backup and then erase to free up space, you will have to download from icloud to an external device or some other backup service, and maintain this as the backup.

    I have been wondering how to do this for a long time because I still have an iPhone 11 max Pro and I had 19,000 photos and videos and every update for the phone was saying that it couldn’t update because I had too many photos and videos 🎉🎉🎉🎉 I even watched another video before this and it didn’t actually work out well. It was kind of confusing and your video was perfect and quick and easy. Thank you.

    I have an older iPhone that I kept for playing music. It isn’t active (I can’t make calls but I can use it to play music where I have access to Wi-Fi. My question is how can I remove all of my photos from this device only without loosing all of them either in the cloud or on other active devices? Yes I did just watch this entire video but the options on my phone aren’t the same as the phone in your video. I do have them backed up to the cloud so I am safe there (I think). Any help from you would be greatly appreciated! I am subscribed to your channel but I couldn’t find anything that applied to my phone in settings that followed your video.

    Hi Trevor! Big question here. I see it in the comments a lot. What happens if I turn on the Sync toggle after all the photos have been deleted from the phone after syncing with iCloud? Most of us simply want to make space in our phones and want to keep all the storage in iCloud, so we worry that if we turn on the sync toggle, all of the pictures will reappear on our phones. Please help! Thanks.

      the photos which deleted from the iphone, will reappear on to the iphone when sync is switch back ON. so, the only solution is to transfer the photo to a 3rd party storage, like google drive, or a external SSD hard drive. (I've been to Apple store and asked a few Apple staff)

    • @alexdamaceno
      @alexdamaceno 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      When you follow his steps and switch the toggle back on, the photos that “reappear” on your gallery are not ACTUALLY BACK on the phone - you’re just seeing the thumbnails of those same photos, which are now stored on iCloud.
      They only come back to your phone (in an optimized, lower-resolution version) if you tap to see them in full-screen. This newly downloaded, optimized version, will now be on your device - and the original file will be on iCloud.
      Yes, it’s confusing. And yes, the method he showed is a turnaround (as we call in Brazil, “gambiarra”).
      Apple should give us an option to free up space from our phones by keeping all our galleries just on iCloud, but they wanna do it automatically, by themselves, as usual

      @@gracegardien2891 I’ve only ever had iPhones but my next phone may be an android. Apple is a scam. If we could delete some of their default apps (not just offload) it would give us so much more space. They know this. It’s the feature not the bug. We’re constantly having to buy more storage or a new phone. I don’t see friends with Samsung etc going thru this.
