I hate apple for this. I copied photos from my iphone to Photos and it automatically uploaded them all to icloud without asking permission, filling up my icloud storage and telling me to buy more.

Some of the settings are different now. Can you do an updated video on how to do this please?
For instance once you are in iCloud now, if you tap on photos it doesn’t have the switch on/off. It has “sync with this iPhone” which I imagine works similarly. But I’ve switched my new phone to download and keep originals and it’s been plugged in on charge connected to WiFi for 3 days and it isn’t downloading the photos. And it has a status of “not syncing”

The problem is: we want syncing back on so we can store future photos in icloud. However, when you turn syncing back on all the photos come back defeating the purpose.
This means that if later we have another 500 photos we would like to add, we need to re-sync and therefore re-download all the photos we deleted, only to upload the new 500. This is a long process to wait for all the photos to sync to your phone, only to unsync them. Is there another way we can send the new 500 photos to icloud without re-syncing and un-syncing?
I had same problem, but Google Photo solves all the problems. It cost me $1 every month which is $20 per month but it’s worth it & you can easily manage your iCloud easily. $20 for the whole year, will really make your life much easy because nowadays, Photos and videos are becoming a part of our life like a document and we need them anytime.
if you have a mac, you can connect your iPhone to mac with the cable, and sync to mac the new photos. i.e. you can workaround the iCloud. :)

This doesn’t work on ios16, only gives option to delete. It states in tiny words that you have 30 days to download but there’s no option.
@@MDK_q8 it does it automatically when you select delete and download. You have to be connected to wifi. It’ll start showing up in your gallery as if they’re being formatted.

How can I delete all photos at once? Or can they only be deleted individually?
Any suggestions on how to delete docs from iphone without losing them on my mac? I must have activated something in the past which linked docs from mac to iphone. When I try to delete them off phone it also deletes them from mac which I don't want. Those docs on iphone are eating up majority of icloud space on phone.

when you do this. and the photo is deleted on I cloud but still on your phone. So you get some space in your I cloud. But when you reconnect your Iphone with icloud, will it not be the same problem? That all the photo's on your phone (even the ones you've deleted on Icloud) wil be on Icloud again. And Your Icloud is (Again) full?

When I try to disable the icloud so my pictures won't go directly to icloud. It only says it's gonna remove all pictures from icloud but doesn't give options to download and keep originals, what am I doing wrong??

It’ll delete off your iCloud if you delete it there but when you go to your photos app they right there still but you can delete it and your good to go

Help, please, with a problem. I have 5GB of memory on my iCould. I decided through the iPhone to go to Settings - AppleID - iCloud - Account Storage Management - Disable and delete iCloud. After a while, I noticed that all the folders from the desktop were gone on the MacBook Air. There were files that were well over 5 GB. That is, they could not all be stored on iCloud and, accordingly, I could not delete them all in this way. Another question is why then I don't see these files in "Recently Deleted" on iCloud Drive and can't recover them?
My only question is that if I delete from icloud will it delete everything on my photos too?

Now the thing is all my photos are gone from my iPhone storage and only available in iCloud.
But I was expecting to keep them stored on both my phone storage and iCloud.

When I go to iCloud - manage acct storage, I see my i/cloud storage is full. I don't see "Remove from iPhone or Download Photos & Videos. All I want to do is keep my google photos from being deleted. Hi Millie! To free up iCloud space without affecting your Google Photos, you can manually delete photos from iCloud by going to the Photos app, selecting the photos you want to remove, and then deleting them. Make sure you’re not deleting them from your iPhone as well. Check your iCloud settings to ensure that photos are being managed properly.

ICloud is such a fucked up service. None of this crap works for me, I legitimately do not understand why. It doesn’t help that they are CONSTANTLY drastically changing everything so everything is unfamiliar. Whoever designed it needs to be fired. This shit is ridiculous. I never wanted it in the first place but was forced into using it. I need to download all of my photos to an external deive now in order to turn this stupid thing off cause it says its gonna delete all my photos on my device and it won’t offer me the option to download to my device before turning off! WHY THE FUCK WON’T IT LET ME DO THAT!? Thank you Apple for this fucked up service!

Sometimes iCloud settings can be a bit tricky. Make sure you’ve followed each step carefully, and check if the photos are still synced.

This video way too old. Just spend time for nothing. After You taggle ICloud Photo OFF, you will not get options: "Remove from Iphone" or Download. It will ask you to pay more for storage. Bad options. Trevor, please update your video, or tell people that your video for OLD phones
