Some fun facts about the Rorschach ink blot test: It's an example of what we call a "projective test" because the theory is that you project aspects of your personality onto the intentionally ambiguous stimuli. In modern times, these are also called "performance based tests" because they actually measure your behavior in the moment rather than taking your responses to a set of questions like an inventory. Another good example of a projective test is the Thematic Aperception Test (TAT), which has you look at pictures and tell a story about them.
The Rorschach is actually very common still. Globally it's the most commonly used projective test and it is one of the most sensitive tests for detecting psychosis like that seen in schizophrenia. There are multiple "scoring systems" that have been developed over the years and as a clinician you combine that more objective data with your own clinical expertise to get a holistic sense of the individual's personality and emotional functioning.

It is a role play. It is more to induce the tingles usually felt from a real exam as opposed to actually performing a literal one.

I really like how matter of fact you are, like an actual psychologist/doctor. You're not being obviously relaxing which is nice, the whole point of medical RPs is because those scenarios are generally unintentionally relaxing so you've made this as accurate as you could to the real thing. Probably my new favourite medical ASMR RP!

I always appreciate how professional in nature you are in your roleplays, Laura. You really do your research beforehand and it shows remarkably in the finished product. Often I've seen ASMRtists that sort of just "wing it" when they do roleplays, and they always end up feeling unbelievable and cheap. I remember your ear exam video from a few years ago was also really impressive like this one.
Even the "well-timed" swallowing is pure ASMR... amazing!

When you did the perspective test with the remaining eight cards at the end, you actually spoke about what I could see on those cards for six of them which I found pretty cool! Why did they stop Rorschach? Seems like a chill test to take.
It was completely up to the doctor's interpretation as to what the test takers personality is. It may give good explanation as to what is going through their head, but it isn't entirely scientific.
The doctor could diagnose the patient with anything and justify a false diagnosis by the ink blot test. :/
But I agree with you. It would be wonderful if they continued to use it...
If it's used in addition to other tests.

In our university it's still a taught subject for every student on psychology BA and MA, and used later for differential diagnosys. Just to clearify we are meant to use it correctly. A hungarian psychologist for around 50 years ago called Ferenc Mérei standardized the original test, he added new elements to the marking, invented new scales, gathered over 100 special reactions from the patients, which lead to a more reliable version of Rorschach-test. Because of the huge role of Mérei in the test-developing in Hungary the RO-test is still taught on every psychology BA or later on MA.

Two frowning bearded kings/pharaohs standing back to back. 7:59 the top looks like I'm staring at a white tower from a torch-lit hallway at night. The bottom looks like two dogs facing each other. Altogether, it looks like a cat. 8:08 a woman's genitals, or a scorpion. 8:21 siamese-twin sisters dancing. Or a black skull with cranial trauma with its lower jaw split in half. 8:33 a dissected bat. 8:42 two monks praying, or a lobster missing its tail. 8:52 A smiling dragon with a nose-bleed. 9:01 A dissected frog. On the bottom (the 'legs' of the frog) I see two old men facing each other, or two rabbits hopping away from each other. On top, I see a red bird. In the middle I see some form of flying insect. 9:11 Upside-down ruminant (deer, cow, etc.) skull. Something dissected. Rot. Ribs. 9:20 an orchid. Possibly dying.

I think videos like this could have benefitted from acknowledging that it's a video format and putting links in the description, either to time stamps, or hidden videos, so that people had an authentic choice about which to reflect on. If that were the case perhaps only offer 6 choices so it isn't too much extra work.
