2012 cat 226b3 paint job
new pins and bushings
new cab to frame foam and rubber seals
250hr service
deep interior and engine compartment cleaning
Not perfect but looks and feels like a new machine
Steps i took:
pressure wash with about a gallon of industrial degreaser
scraper to all loose and flakey paint
wire wheel to all rusted areas
80 grits sandpaper on the whole machine
2 coats self etching primer
1 heavy coat cat yellow and gloss black
Costs:
rustoleum farm implement cat yellow 1 gallon-$45
gloss black~$30
self etching primer~$50
decals-$150
tape, tinfoil, paint filters, misc~$100
For about $400 it looks like a new machine and it looks alot more professional showing up to a job site with well maintained equipment
It was a winter project inbetween snow plowing and took about 2 and a half weeks to complete. aprox. 80 hours into it
