    I went to my first show/concert last week and was a little taken aback to see just how much people project onto celebrities, so willing to play the role of a crazed adoring fan.. the music was good though, just could never be me

    You are right. The last concert I went to (IU = the most famous celebrity in South Korea I daresay), I was much less enchanted than I thought I would be. Sure the first few songs she was so beautiful and had the star quality (the posture, expressions, everything). I was so captured. But eventually, the excitement died down and it was her voice and her music that moved me, and not the fact that she was a celebrity. IU herself said not to worship her and treat her like you would any other person in a video.
    Respect for talent and craft =/= worship. IU is just a human being like me, who happens to be very beautiful and as a singer myself, she has better technique than me due to years of perfecting the craft. And she is very good at composing music. That's it.
    Thinking this way has led me to stop caring that much about celebrities. I sometimes watch them for entertainment but I don't think much past it. At the end of the day, they have their own families and close friends. Fans are just... clients (for the lack of a better word), except for a very few fans she does genuinely remember because she met them in a more personal way. Sounds cold, but it is what it is.
    and IU is one of the most humble and lowkey celebs I know. I don't know about celebs who have star syndrome and are nowhere near as humble as her.

    Yes, don’t forget that the hype they get is because of a whole team behind them that works hard to market them. It’s more about the image than the talent. Most of them are not even happy and constantly seek validation. Few of them have pure talent that is deserving of admiration, but even that doesn’t justify to put them on a pedestal.

  • @lansvance4870
    @lansvance4870 หลายเดือนก่อน +46

    I don’t think is wrong to admit someone is higher on the pedestal than us. As an example, somebody with a Nobel prize in medicine in higher in the pedestal of that field than me, that’s fine. I don’t care to respect them in that sense. Similarly, I am higher in the pedestal than them in whatever area I am an expert in. Everyone is a great and also am idiot in some areas of life. The issue comes when people get big egos and compete or become fanatical / obsessive / disempowered. Pedestals are for honors and prizes, not for mindless worship. If I wanted to worship I’ll create an altar.

    • @la_princesse_des_beauxarts
      @la_princesse_des_beauxarts  หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      Absolutely agree! You ego serves you like a guard dog but if you can't control it, it will drag you through the mud 😸💕

    • @lansvance4870
      @lansvance4870 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@la_princesse_des_beauxarts I think the ego is good for reality testing, but many go insane trying to push into agendas or break boundaries that are not for them. Mind you that spiritually if one is always obsessing or competing with someone they have fixed their eyes there, and energetically that is also worship… and is actually worse and more powerful than pedestaling people you admire. You become the energetic slave of that competitor, specially if they are not competing with you and you have no actual chance of winning (why a healthy ego is so important 🙂)

    • @Zoe-nl1jn
      @Zoe-nl1jn หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you study quantum physics, you would be surprised to discover that we live in a hologram/ simulation , practically everything is an "illusion" our awareness/ perception / attention ( our energetical input , to be even more specific) of anything we see in this world it's what keeping it alive in our reality. It's hard to grasp/believe but if you've reached a certain level of consciousness or even went through some sort of spiritual awakening, you would understand. Outside this third dimensional world , we are all one.❤

    • @MariaFernandaReir
      @MariaFernandaReir หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      But these "prizes" don't mean anything at the end of the day lol. EVERYTHING that exists only mean something to you if you DECIDE it means something. Nothing is set in stone, we decide how we see things and the world. It's all about perspective.
      Like me for example, I could be a great singer and right now be having a world tour getting lots of money. But I don't see that as worthy. To >me< what is truly worthy in this life is being safe, happy, nourished and FREE from others personal expectations.

    It's ok to acknowledge that some people are "higher than you" or "better than you" in certain areas. As long as you can also acknowledge your own strengths and the ways in which you may be "better" than them. It can also be helpful to look up to them as an example for how you would like to grow..but like you said, without idolizing them or putting them on a pedastal.

    This right here. Thank you. I often feel envious and jealous of certain people (both celebrities and peers). I am tired of feeling this way and I want to thrive in my life. I have been breaking down these feelings piece by piece and discovering what they mean. When you're jealous and envious of something, it shows that you truly desire and reveals that subconsciously, you feel you can't have it. In turn, you become resentful, upset, sad, unmotivated etc. This video really broke it down another layer for me and has helped me along my healing journey. Thank you!!

    I never worship anyone. I do appreciate a lot of artists, I like their work, I am a fan of their work, but I never worship the person. I don't know them!! Plus, c'mon, they have a whole team behind them to make them look beautiful, to say the right things, to dress good, to stay slim etc, they all make important decisions about their careers, they have like marketers, pr, you name it. But we don't have a team, how can we compare with them? A celebrity is not successful just on their own, I'm sorry. It's a whole team behind them making strategies and stuff with the artist. So I don't have that chance to be guided by a professional team to be successful. And I don't know celebrities, I don't have a clue what kind of person they are. It's crazy to be obsessed with someone that you don't know. I don't like this. And the energy is weird, like saying x and y is a queen/king and are the best and being extremely involved to protect them from haters is too crazy for me. People are delulu and waste their time & money. Support their work, but don't be obsessive and absurd. They show only the "perfect persona" to the world. But they are exactly like us in reality.

    Just because they are RICH. Multimillionaires and billionaires. Common people see money as a hierarchy, as a division to see if you are "worthy" or not, it's a very dumb way of thinking but that's humanity for you.
    I only like certain celebrities because of their craft OR because I have a crush on them. Never because I think they are better than me or have a better life than me, which to me is the very opposite because I did not need to endure lots of abuse like them did to have a comfortable and happy life.

    I’ll leave you with a follow up question, which I don’t know if you’ll answer but it’d be cool if you did:
    If you admire qualities on others that you don’t necessarily see in yourself, would you say that it’s possible to cultivate them from scratch or not?
    Or would you say that, if others are a mirror of you, then what you see in them you yourself also have (even if unwittingly)?

      Thank you so much for your kind encouragement!
      I do believe it is possible to cultivate qualities you recognize in another even if they seem far fetched or very different to how you currently identify. Years ago I never would have imagined myself as playful and seductive (I repressed my femininity and felt it was a burden/shameful rather than a source of power)--and I even judged others who had those positive qualities. So I say yes to the latter question as well :)

    you can’t just say nice words, they have to have some iota of meaning and flow tying them together - this is a stream of absolutely incoherent contradictory hollow juvenile *nonnnsense*. I’m not even certain YOU know exactly what YOU mean- it’s quite difficult to pick out anything really definitive from it, a lot of the time you’re countering one of your own earlier ideas unwittingly. That’s the trouble with everyone believing their ‘thoughts’ and ‘opinions’ are of equal worth to everyone else’s ~regardless~ of the subject/content, and their own lack of knowledge, experience & understanding.. that’s not how it works! your words aren’t naturally important enough that you can preach them to the world so readily, as if people can & should learn something of actual significance from you - you earn respect and repute with real effort and time and experience, and even then you don’t assume you’re clever enough to be able to school people on any subject at all (particularly if the subject/content is vague & disjointed & reductive & founded on non-empirical crumbs of data such as your “factual observations”.. like in this case) - you don’t just decide your intellectual contribution is highly valuable out of nothing but vanity, it’s the narcissistic narcosis of an ego that is desperately hungry for the quickest and easiest and cheapest satisfaction & reassurance of itself, without the bother of hard work or substance. Words are incredibly powerful and precious, and you should be serious & thoughtful about your own so they actually have some degree of value and weight, not cheapened by being used carelessly and frivolously and indifferently.
