I went to my first show/concert last week and was a little taken aback to see just how much people project onto celebrities, so willing to play the role of a crazed adoring fan.. the music was good though, just could never be me
You are right. The last concert I went to (IU = the most famous celebrity in South Korea I daresay), I was much less enchanted than I thought I would be. Sure the first few songs she was so beautiful and had the star quality (the posture, expressions, everything). I was so captured. But eventually, the excitement died down and it was her voice and her music that moved me, and not the fact that she was a celebrity. IU herself said not to worship her and treat her like you would any other person in a video. Respect for talent and craft =/= worship. IU is just a human being like me, who happens to be very beautiful and as a singer myself, she has better technique than me due to years of perfecting the craft. And she is very good at composing music. That's it. Thinking this way has led me to stop caring that much about celebrities. I sometimes watch them for entertainment but I don't think much past it. At the end of the day, they have their own families and close friends. Fans are just... clients (for the lack of a better word), except for a very few fans she does genuinely remember because she met them in a more personal way. Sounds cold, but it is what it is. and IU is one of the most humble and lowkey celebs I know. I don't know about celebs who have star syndrome and are nowhere near as humble as her.
Yes, don’t forget that the hype they get is because of a whole team behind them that works hard to market them. It’s more about the image than the talent. Most of them are not even happy and constantly seek validation. Few of them have pure talent that is deserving of admiration, but even that doesn’t justify to put them on a pedestal.
I don’t think is wrong to admit someone is higher on the pedestal than us. As an example, somebody with a Nobel prize in medicine in higher in the pedestal of that field than me, that’s fine. I don’t care to respect them in that sense. Similarly, I am higher in the pedestal than them in whatever area I am an expert in. Everyone is a great and also am idiot in some areas of life. The issue comes when people get big egos and compete or become fanatical / obsessive / disempowered. Pedestals are for honors and prizes, not for mindless worship. If I wanted to worship I’ll create an altar.
@@la_princesse_des_beauxarts I think the ego is good for reality testing, but many go insane trying to push into agendas or break boundaries that are not for them. Mind you that spiritually if one is always obsessing or competing with someone they have fixed their eyes there, and energetically that is also worship… and is actually worse and more powerful than pedestaling people you admire. You become the energetic slave of that competitor, specially if they are not competing with you and you have no actual chance of winning (why a healthy ego is so important 🙂)
If you study quantum physics, you would be surprised to discover that we live in a hologram/ simulation , practically everything is an "illusion" our awareness/ perception / attention ( our energetical input , to be even more specific) of anything we see in this world it's what keeping it alive in our reality. It's hard to grasp/believe but if you've reached a certain level of consciousness or even went through some sort of spiritual awakening, you would understand. Outside this third dimensional world , we are all one.❤
But these "prizes" don't mean anything at the end of the day lol. EVERYTHING that exists only mean something to you if you DECIDE it means something. Nothing is set in stone, we decide how we see things and the world. It's all about perspective. Like me for example, I could be a great singer and right now be having a world tour getting lots of money. But I don't see that as worthy. To >me< what is truly worthy in this life is being safe, happy, nourished and FREE from others personal expectations.
to be fanatical is to be blind to something like blind to too much weight loss or filler blindness ... its to be blind to the reality of a person ... and for your behaviour to be fanatical towards them
I liked and commented simply because of the title. I hate celebrity worship 💯 💯 i see so many people’s brain turn to mush with the nervous worship energy of fanatics mean
EXACTLY!!!! Everything you said is so powerful also it seems sad to base your whole self worth around someone you dont know esp bcs you never know who they really are
It's ok to acknowledge that some people are "higher than you" or "better than you" in certain areas. As long as you can also acknowledge your own strengths and the ways in which you may be "better" than them. It can also be helpful to look up to them as an example for how you would like to grow..but like you said, without idolizing them or putting them on a pedastal.
Yes I appreciate a lot of the work of artists and with some of them I like some of their personality traits but I still see them as humans so I don't expect celebrities to be 24/7 perfect all the time because that's unrealistic.
This right here. Thank you. I often feel envious and jealous of certain people (both celebrities and peers). I am tired of feeling this way and I want to thrive in my life. I have been breaking down these feelings piece by piece and discovering what they mean. When you're jealous and envious of something, it shows that you truly desire and reveals that subconsciously, you feel you can't have it. In turn, you become resentful, upset, sad, unmotivated etc. This video really broke it down another layer for me and has helped me along my healing journey. Thank you!!
they are actually much more miserable than us. They all sold their souls for worldly possessions and most of us don't even know what they do behind close doors.
I never worship anyone. I do appreciate a lot of artists, I like their work, I am a fan of their work, but I never worship the person. I don't know them!! Plus, c'mon, they have a whole team behind them to make them look beautiful, to say the right things, to dress good, to stay slim etc, they all make important decisions about their careers, they have like marketers, pr, you name it. But we don't have a team, how can we compare with them? A celebrity is not successful just on their own, I'm sorry. It's a whole team behind them making strategies and stuff with the artist. So I don't have that chance to be guided by a professional team to be successful. And I don't know celebrities, I don't have a clue what kind of person they are. It's crazy to be obsessed with someone that you don't know. I don't like this. And the energy is weird, like saying x and y is a queen/king and are the best and being extremely involved to protect them from haters is too crazy for me. People are delulu and waste their time & money. Support their work, but don't be obsessive and absurd. They show only the "perfect persona" to the world. But they are exactly like us in reality.
Girl girl girl. You are a BLESSING. I feel so drawn to your page and that I’m meant to hear your words. What you said about the energy harvesting at concerts…. I have felt that so much at all concerts. Thank you for your wisdom. As a young woman I aspire to live in Europe like you are someday 💟🤍🌸
Just because they are RICH. Multimillionaires and billionaires. Common people see money as a hierarchy, as a division to see if you are "worthy" or not, it's a very dumb way of thinking but that's humanity for you. I only like certain celebrities because of their craft OR because I have a crush on them. Never because I think they are better than me or have a better life than me, which to me is the very opposite because I did not need to endure lots of abuse like them did to have a comfortable and happy life.
Thank you for this video, for me fangirling is not necessarily being obsessed, my favourite group songs and tv shows bring me joy, their personalities is something I look up to for myself ... because as I have been facing difficult situations and hated myself a lot, having someone to look up to makes me feel less crappy 😭😭😭
I loved Cat on a Hot Tin Roof! I laughed so much but learned a lot too, from the more serious subject of family obligations and duty, or moving on from the past :)
It was very good film, I liked it, especially script. But I still don't understand why Gooper was unloved child by Mom and also Dad, unlike Brick, since very formative childhood. I have my own theories, but that's anyway seems ultimately unfair
Amazing video , what if the celebrity that i admired had certain traits that i loved but were tied to their personality but then they got a new personality that i don't like anymore & am still stuck / in love with their old personality / traits / characteristics ?
21:39 like what my fav song to me by Pink says in the radio that I am not less than f*ckin' perfect just cuz I struggled and it doesn't mean I have to be flawless cuz making mistakes is part of being human
