Thanks for watching, you can use any brand vegetable glycerin as long as it's food grade. My friend dropped her cup and it looked fine on the outside but inside there was a small crack. She didn't realize it until she got a mouth full of glitter with her Dr. Pepper. You want to be on the safe side and make sure it's food grade whatever brand you use.
@@soukesouke5dolla123 definitely try chunky next time and as you fill it shake the cup periodically so the vegetable glycerin water mix can get all under the glitter. If you notice air bubbles from shaking it let it sit for a bit so they can de gas and pop before you fill it up more. Thanks so much for watching 💖 they're so much fun right? I noticed with the fine glitter it clumps for me. Not with the chunky though. Are you using vegetable glycerin and water to fill them?
Naptime Creations I’m using glycerin. I guess it is the fine glitter component. I’ve had chunky glitter and decorative glitter clue as well. I’m doing a 50/50 mixture of glycerin and water. I’ve toggled with the ratios.
Im sure it's the fine glitter that's clumping. I'd love to find some fun shaped glitters. The ones I've found and purchased are too big. I saw some really cute pumpkin shaped glitter but I'm worried about fitting it in the drilled hole and damaging the glitter as I'm pushing down into the wall of the cup. Where do you like to buy your glitter?
Naptime Creations I get mine from BritchesNbows shop from etsy I absolutely love her glitter. I mixed two different glitters. One of hers and one from another seller and they clumped. But I’ve purchased some from her store and it didn’t clump with the fine glitter. She uses polyester glitter. So I’m not sure if the other person has 100 % polyester or not. Thanks for watching, you can but I personally haven't tried it. A lot of people have said that the glitter doesn't float as well in baby oil. So I've just been using the vegetable glycerin mixed 50/50 with water 💗
Thanks for watching 💖 Did you use a lot of fine glitter ? The fine glitter gets really clumpy. These cups work best with chunky, shape glitter or extra chunky glitter. Fine or extra fine tend to clump up.
@@naptimecreations No... it was a chunky glitter that was mixed with fine glitter. I tries another option of water with baby oil. Maybe I should've used the glycerin instead. What makes it split to the top and bottom of the cup?
Ooohh I see It might have been the baby oil then? Try the vegetable glycerin mixed 50 / 50 with water that works really well for me and the glitter floats really well in it and it doesn't get stuck at all.
I hope you see my comment! I made one for the first time! but at the opening of the cup, the seal started to leak, am I able to use the same gorilla glue epoxy around the rim where the lid is ? sorry if it’s hard to understand what I mean!
Thanks for watching. I bought some cups off Amazon and had that problem. Do you have uv resin? That's the easiest way to fix cups leaking from the top. In this video towards the end it shows step by step how to fix it. th-cam.com/video/DZoRHE3hlHg/w-d-xo.html If you use gorilla epoxy it might get wet before it sets up all the way and then it won't set up at all. Thanks so much, the fixing cups video isn't mine but I tried her technique with the uv resin and it works. Those darn amazon cups leak bad. @@naptimecreations at least now I know I can fix it & I won’t be worried about having to throw an entire finished cup away because it’s leaking! Seriously you’re the best! Thank you!
What if we don’t use food grade glycerin? I bought 2 bottles and I hate myself for not checking first! I purchased soap expressions vegetable glycerin!
Thanks for watching. I would only use food grade glycerin because if the person who gets the cup drops it and it cracks on the inner wall & they don't notice it's cracked. They could end up drinking it and it would be awful if they got real sick or something from it. That happened to one of my friends. She dropped the cup. Thought it was fine & She was drinking dr pepper in her cup. She couldn't see the crack and ended up with a nasty mouth full of glitter and vegetable glycerin.

Is the glitter floating up to the top and sinking to the bottom? My cups do that too if they sit for a while. All the glitter will float to the top and sink to the bottom of the cup.
Thanks for watching 💙 I saw that but I've tried a funnel and it never worked well for me. It was always getting clogged/stopped up at the tip of the funnel. I found it was faster to tap it in and less messy. I might try the funnel in again soon though.
@@naptimecreations I use a skinny drill bit to push the glitter down. Then I added a straw to the funnel to add the liquid. So far it’s working pretty good.
Thanks for watching 💜 I have that problem sometimes too. I just try to shake the cup a lot as I'm filling it up. That helps move the #glitter around so you can fill it up all the way and the liquid will go inside
Thanks for watching 🤗 Yes the Starbucks ones work the best for this they don't leak like the ones off Amazon. I've tried cups off Amazon and these Starbucks cups from Starbucks work the best.
Polyester glitter is solvent resistant and doesn't bleed. Try to get some Polyester glitter if you can and try that I bet it won't bleed at all into the glycerin mixture.
@@naptimecreations im not sure... some glitter has the details on it and some doesnt. I guess i better be safe rather than sorry and specifically look for the polyester..😔 nuts. Wasted money🤦♀️
Thanks for watching 💜 are you using a pipette to fill your cup? You have to make sure there's no air bubbles in the pipette when you fill and also letting it sit for a bit while your filling it can help pop the air bubbles. So fill it 1/3 way shake it up good so the glitter is all coated then let it sit for 30 min or so until the bubbles pop. Then fill some more. Let it sit again. Also tapping the cup from the bottom helps pop the bubbles too. Hope that all made sense 💜
@@naptimecreations I think the most challenging part is drilling the hole and putting the glitter in. I made a paper one that was the size of the hole and I just use the end of a thin paint brush to push it through. Larger shaped glitter I use pointed tweezers!!

@@badgirlhollywood9741 I use a glue stick to close the hole, and then resin coating the whole bottom
In this video towards the end it shows step by step how to fix it.
th-cam.com/video/DZoRHE3hlHg/w-d-xo.html
If you use gorilla epoxy it might get wet before it sets up all the way and then it won't set up at all. Uv resin sets up really fast.
@@naptimecreations okay! That’s where my cups are from! I have uv resin on hand so I’m going to try that!! I’m going to subscribe & watch your video now 😊 thank you!!!
Thanks so much, the fixing cups video isn't mine but I tried her technique with the uv resin and it works.
Those darn amazon cups leak bad. I bought 6 and 3 of them leaked from the bottom and they leaked rom the rim. It's easy to fix but frustrating when you think your finished with your cup and then realize it's leaking 😅💜
@@naptimecreations at least now I know I can fix it & I won’t be worried about having to throw an entire finished cup away because it’s leaking! Seriously you’re the best! Thank you!
@@abbyparkins9374 no problem 💖💖💖
@@naptimecreations makes a lot of sense! Thanks for replying so fast, do you have an IG or even Facebook to follow you? I just made a cup tonight and it’s looking so good!!!
@@maryjoa4371 ooohh awesome, I love these cups. They're so fun to make. I'm on IG & FB my profile pic on IG & FB is the same as here on TH-cam

OHHH!! I just finished filling it up! And it’s separating in the middle when it sits! 😭😭😭😭😭💔
Is the glitter floating up to the top and sinking to the bottom? My cups do that too if they sit for a while. All the glitter will float to the top and sink to the bottom of the cup.
Amazon has funnel that make adding the glitter way easier
Thanks for watching 💙 I saw that but I've tried a funnel and it never worked well for me. It was always getting clogged/stopped up at the tip of the funnel. I found it was faster to tap it in and less messy. I might try the funnel in again soon though.
@@naptimecreations I use a skinny drill bit to push the glitter down. Then I added a straw to the funnel to add the liquid. So far it’s working pretty good.
@@adaesmoot that's a great idea. I'll try that next time, thank you so much 💜💜💜
I have such an issue with the liquid staying at the bottle. Every time I try and put more it it won’t go into cup. Ugh
Thanks for watching 💜 I have that problem sometimes too. I just try to shake the cup a lot as I'm filling it up. That helps move the #glitter around so you can fill it up all the way and the liquid will go inside
Does it has to be a Starbucks tumbler?? I've tried the ones on Amazon but it just doesn't work for me :( please help
Thanks for watching 🤗
Yes the Starbucks ones work the best for this they don't leak like the ones off Amazon. I've tried cups off Amazon and these Starbucks cups from Starbucks work the best.
Have you noticed any of your glitters bleed? I used purple glitter with a glycerin mixture and mixture and now my liquid is purple lol
Thanks for watching 🤗 I have never had that happen. Do you know if you are using polyester glitter?
Polyester glitter is solvent resistant and doesn't bleed. Try to get some Polyester glitter if you can and try that I bet it won't bleed at all into the glycerin mixture.
@@naptimecreations im not sure... some glitter has the details on it and some doesnt. I guess i better be safe rather than sorry and specifically look for the polyester..😔 nuts. Wasted money🤦♀️
@@naptimecreations thank you!
I'm sorry that happened 😓 a lot of the websites will say if it's a polyester glitter or not.
I’ve been having a problem with air bubbles how do I fix that??
Thanks for watching 💜 are you using a pipette to fill your cup? You have to make sure there's no air bubbles in the pipette when you fill and also letting it sit for a bit while your filling it can help pop the air bubbles. So fill it 1/3 way shake it up good so the glitter is all coated then let it sit for 30 min or so until the bubbles pop. Then fill some more. Let it sit again.
Also tapping the cup from the bottom helps pop the bubbles too. Hope that all made sense 💜
How much for the cup at Starbucks
Thanks for watching, the price depends on the size of the cup. The big venti cups are $14.95 here at the Starbucks stores.
Great tutorial thank you so much I was wondering how
Long did you wait tell you shook up how long did it take
To
Dry
Thanks so much for watching 💗 I let it dry for 24 hours 😁 I love making these cups 💗
A funnel is faster and less messy!
Thanks for watching, I tried a funnel before and it didn't work well for me. I'll definitely try again soon 😁💗
@@naptimecreations I think the most challenging part is drilling the hole and putting the glitter in. I made a paper one that was the size of the hole and I just use the end of a thin paint brush to push it through. Larger shaped glitter I use pointed tweezers!!
@@lindyperez3268 that's a great idea, thanks so much. I'll try that next time 😁💗
My tumbler was leaking from the top, when I turned it upside down to seal the bottom and let it dry it leaked !!! Any advice how to seal the top?
Thanks for watching, I'm so sorry that happened. I've heard of that happening before but unfortunately there's no way to seal the top. My friend who had that happen had to throw her cup away. May I ask where you bought your cup that's leaking?
I've never had any problems with the cups from Starbucks.
@@naptimecreations it was from Amazon
I ordered a 3 pack, only one is leaking
@@nicolemont9204 oh man I bet the cup was damaged during shipping. Sometimes there can be a small crack that's only noticeable when you fill it. I bet if you e mail Amazon they will issue a refund for that cup. Sorry about that.
Me too I really love Starbucks tumbler Starbucks tumblers is better than slm modern
I agree, I think so too. Thanks for watching 😊
I use a hot glue gun to seal the hole
I haven't tried that yet, I hope to try it soon. Does the hot glue work good to seal the hole?
