I make little round flat stoppers out of uv resin on a silicone mat to plug the hole then cover with more uv resin to seal down, sand and do a full layer of epoxy on the turner.

it's so cute. I've watched multiple videos and everyone only drilled one hole so I was wondering why you drilled two, then after watching it makes completes sense to use two holes, as well as the epoxy on the bottom vs UV resin. thx for sharing
I buy the gorilla glue epoxy at walmart. Its in a syringe. Much easier than the epoxy in the bottles. It sets in 4 mins n ab 20 mins it’s completely hardened. I stick tape in side or over the hole n then epoxy or those clear rubber wall hangers by scotch. But the glue I never thought ab! Smart! Love the video!
Have you ever tested to see how long it would stay before water start coming out ? Does it lasts years or what ? I don’t wanna do this myself and have customers complain
Adding the water to the glycerin is a double edged sword. While the mix does make for a nice suspension for the glitter if you freeze the cup (to keep your drink cold longer) you risk cracking it because water expands when frozen. Glycerin does not expand when frozen (it also stays frozen longer than water), but once you add that water in there all bets are off.
Hello I'm making my first snow tumbler , but my glycerin and water mixture isn't seeping to the bottom of the cup to mix up the glitter . Does that mean I over stuffed it with glitter ? Any suggestions with be appreciated .
Which vinyl do you think is better for double wall acrylic tumblers? Heat transfer vinyl or regular adhesive vinyl? Or do they hold up pretty well equally?
I’ve read in groups that the epoxy on plastic cups causes toxicity.. does this not apply because this is double walled? Also have you used baby oil? What’s the difference between that and the glycerin?
Double walled is okay. Baby oil and water do not mix at all so you’ll always have a void somewhere in the mix. The water and glycerine mix will have glitter suspension throughout the entire mix.
Hi!! I just bought some double wall cups to make the snow globes effect with them but once I started pouring the mixture it started to leak at the top of the cup. Which brand do you recommend to purchase that will not leak?! I need help!!! Please!!!
@jeanette Torres I know this was probably directed solely at the TH-camr but I make a lot of these and personally I have found that the Starbucks cups are great probably the best but they’re very pricey and if your making these for personal use then I’d choose the brand Maars as it is definitely a close second and quite a bit cheaper I find them on Amazon and (3) of them either clear or with cute colored tops and straws their only $24-$28 so max $7 per cup and they’re very good quality! Good luck and happy crafting
@@jaliawia7463 no I’ve never had one leak ever I made one into a glitter tumbler for my 17 year old daughter about 6 months ago and she uses daily and has never had a problem I’ve made probably about 20+ of the maars cups without problems if you have any issues reach out to Amazon or the maars company and they’ll replace them immediately hun hope this helps
This happens when you do not extract the air from the glass for at least 5 hours after adding the glitter and liquid, the air exerts a lot of pressure inside the glass and the glitter accumulates.
If you are using FDA compliant epoxy, it can go on hard plastic. If the plastic can flex when squeezed the epoxy will crack so it isn't recommended on those kinds of plastics.
I'm going to be ordering my pictures from your website to use on my Starbucks snowglobe tumblers do I have to add epoxy or are they ready to be put on with put having to seal them ???

They are kind of delicate. I’ve cracked a couple when they’ve rolled off the table ... I can only imagine how much easier they are to crack when they’re heavier filled with water etc. I say they can be ok as long as they aren’t dropped.

If you live close to a Harbor Freight your DrillMaster rotary tool actually costs less than 10 dollars there. And you can use coupons.
I bought one, and use it every day for my cups!! Such a bargain.
Thanks will go there

If you leave a small air bubble, you should be okay on the expansion part of freezing.
I like your voice over. Its easier to understand you than when you are wearing your mask.
I was told to dull the tips of the drill bit and you won’t have so much stuff all around the hole. It worked for me.
What can you do if you don’t make that smaller air hole and have already added the glitter and water/glycerin mixture?
Its good to see you back making more tutorials. Love everything you do.
With the glycerin does it end up getting moldy? Would distilled water be better to prevent mold?
Yes
Loved this tutorial! I love the final look!!
Where did you get the scale from
Hey there 👋 do you still recommend this cup? I’ve read the reviews and people say these leak. I’m having trouble finding a cup that won’t leak .

Thanks so much! Perfect for holiday gifts!
Just ordered a few of these tumblers from hogg. Do they still leak from the top? Anything I can do to seal it?

Same! My mind is blown right now 😮🤯
Do you recommend to do the epoxy on the bottom of the cup or is it optional?
I love this project! But is it safe to use epoxy on acrylic tumblers?
You can on double walled acrylic.
As long as it is FDA compliant epoxy, it is safe.
Do you prep the cup before adding decals & epoxy ?

Can I make a larger hole for larger filler?
Do you sand the outside before applying your vinyl?
Only if it is necessary. If you do sand you will have to add another coat of epoxy after the vinyl to get rid of the sand marks

How is the durability of that tumbler? I know a lot of them are saying that they brake easy. Thanks
How do you know your only drilling through the one hole. Is there something I can look for?
How do you get glitter to float on top?
I thought epoxy couldn't go on plastic cups? Was that a special kind?
If you are using FDA compliant epoxy, it can go on hard plastic. If the plastic can flex when squeezed the epoxy will crack so it isn't recommended on those kinds of plastics.
@@TD-lq1kt interesting, thank you for letting me know
Anything double walled, plastic or whichever else, can be epoxied. Anything single walled, you cannot use epoxy.
Lesson learned tonight... make sure the acrylic tumbler doesn't have holes in the top. 🤦♀️ Don't try the Dollar Tree ones just an FYI.

I'm not getting much movement in my glitter?
How can you keep the glitter from clumping at the top so much? Just add less glitter? Or less solution?
This happens when you do not extract the air from the glass for at least 5 hours after adding the glitter and liquid, the air exerts a lot of pressure inside the glass and the glitter accumulates.
Arnt those vacuum double walled cups?
Does the glue gun glue hold as well as the epoxy type plugs? I've only seen people use the epoxy ones until now but I reallllly don't want to use that.
You have to epoxy over the glue stick plug.
