    List of tools needed...
    3/8 inch Hex wrench
    Lug wrench
    Flathead screwdriver
    List of parts needed...
    Front brake pad kit. (Don't get the cheap ones)
    Brake rotors. (Only if they are needed. Watch video to see why.)

    I really like this video - extremely clear and easy to follow. I'm in the middle of a job, came to check how to attach the inner pad, and got convinced to replace my rotor too! BTW, I love your "jack stand". Front plate too. Mine is a '96, but same everything (even the old snow on the wiper). Subbed.

    1:35 BEFORE TIGHTENING C-CLAMP OPEN THE BLEEDER A LITTLE BIT SO YOU DON'T SEND CONTAMINANTS UP INTO THE MASTER CYLINDER TO RUIN IT BY SCORING THE BORE AND SEALS. THE FLUID IN THE CALIPERS WILL BE NASTY.

    Good video....wanted to make sure no special tool was needed to remove the rotor...thanks for posting. You might could add at the end to make sure to do a test drive on the new brakes to burn off the oils and set the pads. Also, at the end when you did the final check on the brake fluid I noticed some brake fluid on your hands and just wanted your other viewers to beware brake fluid will blister the paint job on contact..so be wary. Great vid though...straight to the point and clear. Thanks.

    I'm trying to diagnose the issue I am having with the rear, bottom of my brake pads dragging on my rotor's hub. My mechanic believed that the issue was that the knuckle having a bevel and the caliper being flat was the issue. However, there aren't any calipers offered for this truck with a bevel to match and I see that yours are the same configuration. The same thing is happening on both sides. I guess I need to make sure the correct pads are installed. I got this truck used too.

    The truck was bought used so I don't know how many miles were on the rotors. I can say though that we did put on about 10000 miles after we bought it and that the rotors looked like they had been turned (ground down) once before. We rarely do any hard braking with this truck. Driving around our farm mainly.

    So to change rotors if necessary, there are no bearings or races to mess with? Had a 1985 Suburban that required replace or removal of bearings and race. Was a pain to do!

    How come nothing said about cleaning the slides and applying anti seize on the slides?

    • @coleman6131
      @coleman6131 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You put Sil-Glyde on the rods, not anti seize, and also, there are at least four o-rings
      per caliper that need to be dug out and replaced. This guy's an amateur.
