Brilliant interview! It's a shame these videos don't get more views considering how much goes into them. Travel, editing, translations, planning ect. This deserves ten times the views but I understand it's a very niche topic. Plus it tests our tiny brains by being 22 minutes, not 22 seconds like everything is these days.

There is a limit cap at every body weight what you can *almost* lift. And if a person is lifting weights that no normal human should be able to at a particular body weight ( say someone squatting 300+ kg ATG at 90 kg body weight) he most certainly is not. And as the normal saying going... if the person is not looking natural...he/she is most likely is not.

@@Demiamant "genetic freaks" is a catagory in humanity, and top athletes are top athletes for a reason. Freak genetics+hard work=top athlete. Not everyone that does grazy weight is on steroids. Say a powerlifter whos on gear has a max 1k lb backsquat. as a natty, hed still be able to get over an 800 backsquat at his peak, maybe even a lil more. Steroids arent a miracle drug that take a string bean dude 150lbs wet and make him into a 280lb lean monster who can all the sudden tripple his bodyweight in a squat. Youre generalizing humans to a very average catagory as if anyone whos 230lbs or above is automatically on roids, and as if there is no possible way that people are born gifted and every human fits within an exact perameter of what you think people "should be able" to lift. Thats not how things work.

If you read between the lines it is clear Yamamoto is taking steroids. His evidence for him being clean is that he only competes in competitions that test for steroids. Then he later admits that people in his body building and weightlifting competitions get away with taking steroids. He also says he admires Clarence for being open about his drug use and lifting more than people in competitions who are on steroids but lying about being clean.
To me, it is clear that Toshiki wishes he could be like Clarence, but he cannot because he does not want to hated by people like you who only respect drug-free athletes.

His squat is close to the best powerlifters of his bodyweight, it's very hard to believe that he's never taken steroids. If he's truly naty, then he has one of the greatest strength genetics ever. Normally, I wouldn't think that his numbers are even possible at his bodyweight, without peds.

The desire to restrict someone to their culture instead of exploring every possible option to become better... It's very common in asian countries unfortunately due to the intense patriotic pride. It's also why people always keep their training and techniques secret instead of everyone helping each other.

While I won't claim to believe he's natty, I've also suspended disbelief in Toshiki's lack of natty-ness. My only personal take on support for him being natty is how many injuries and surgeries he's had. If we believe Clarence was natty when he said he was, he got to 150/190ish (I think) without gear, but messing up his knees and being constantly pretty badly injured and awful feeling. Going with this, too, Toshiki had almost a decade more of competitive WL experience than Clarence, giving him a lot more time to get more gains. It seems like Toshiki he had worse injuries than even Clarence did, and kept pushing through in very extreme ways (see other WLW's interviews) so to me it's conceivably possible he got to where he did natty, but paid a bigger price. Whereas if he wasn't natty, you'd figure he'd have been able to get by with less injuries by taking HGH or similar, or even non-banned drugs like calcitonin or Actovegin.

@@ahmarcamacho8404 In endurance sports mostly. Alberto Salazar in USA was famous for doing it with his athletes. Figured it would help Toshiki as it's meant for bone healing. Not on the banned list, either. For what it's worth, too, Toshiki could have legally used TB500 until I think 2021 or 2022, and BPC-157 until this year. Copper peptide still isn't on the banned list, either.
The fact that he (seemingly) just kept on running super injured without using these things to me makes me think, well, maybe he is/was natty?

Gonna bring all the DYELs in for this one.
Edit: Jawon Garrison, a powerlifter in the 181lb class, JUST set a world record squat of 777lbs a few days ago at the American Pro 2. Jawon is a lifetime natty, and he actually plans to go to the untested side and hop on to turn himself into a real monster the way John Haack did. Toshiki can 100% achieve the feats he has naturally.
Genetic freaks are real whether people want to except it or not. But trying to convince DYELs of this is like talking to a brick wall.

    • @christopherroberts2500
      @christopherroberts2500 ปีที่แล้ว +25

Testing is so incredibly easy to get around in the IPF/other tested feds. Give them a date window, blast outside of that window, make sure your system is flushed a week or so beforehand either side. It's literally just an intelligent test. The fact that 'tested' lifters are equalling or BESTING untested records - guys who have carte blanche to take EVERYTHING - should tell you all you need to know. The majority of the top 10 in any given weight category/class (outside of the LW women's or supers perhaps) will be juicing on the sly. I don't disagree with your point however that there ARE insanely gifted naturals out there.

There are one or two periods, fed dependent, where they have to state their whereabouts. Failure to appear within this periods is considered a fail. As I said, it's an intelligence test. @@christopherroberts2500 Nobody is f*cking it up until the entire Russian state sponsored doping scandal broke. You'd figure the scientists running that would have IQs over 80, right? But anti-doping scientists are also genius-level smart. You can't just clear out all exogenous hormones out of your body to take a PED test and not have your biomarkers be completely and obviously out of whack. It doesn't take a galaxy-brain IQ to see a 200 lb stud with 99th percentile genetic superiority, see his free testosterone levels are about equal to a 90 year old FEMALE, and know that there might be something up lmao.

I actually believe he could be natural, especially looking at his body composition which isn't outrageous like most bodybuilders that openly use PED's. Of course his strength is way more "suspicious", but there is still a significant gap between him and the lifters from countries like China, who definitely do use something.

We know even if you thought he was juicing (which I'm sure you really do) you wouldn't accuse a japanese person of it as it's very much illegal and carries shame to be caught even more so than other athletes. Similar why Swedes living in Sweden wouldn't admit to it, as they evenn randomly test in gyms.

Unless someone can prove it otherwise with an actual law or statute, as far as I researched, albeit this was 10ish years ago, steroids were actually more legal in Japan than in USA. In that while they are/were prescription only, they were not "controlled substances" that would get you arrested like you would for heroin or meth or whatever, like they are in USA. I read foreigners accounts of being able to buy orals freely from Thailand/etc, but injectables the problem was getting a supply of clean needles, but not the drugs themselves.
Japan also in the 1990s/early 2000s had untested MMA as a very popular thing, too. You can argue for the social stigma aspect of it with Japan, but I don't think there's any real legal argument to make, Japan overall has better civil liberties than Sweden right now, anyway. Even for the social stigma aspect, if you look at JADO sanctions, you'll find many sanctions for steroids or SARMs are shorter than USA, and NADOs aren't forced to publicize all names and results. I'm sure in Japan as well with Asian "face" culture and corruption you could make bad results go away. We hold Japan to a higher standard but I don't think ultimately Japan is any different than the rest of Asia in these aspects, they're just more polished.

@@Micheldied People don't really get being friends nowadays. You help your friends out and don't spread rumors/accusations about them, even if deep down you might believe something is up. Especially in the case of something like steroids where you're not really concretely hurting anyone. I remember Vegan Gains made a video about Clarence Kennedy and said he was natty when he was in fact taking gear, when Vegan Gains was the king of natty or not BS, because they were both vegan and both became personal friends of each other.
Also, since it seems like Toshiki had pretty garbage pharmacology for actually preventing injuries, really the only drug he could have taken nowadays is testosterone suspension, which is in and out of the system in a day or two. Some people take it just before their heavy days to get the extra strength drive and hype up, and since it's in and out it doesn't really shut you down like a long ester will.
There's no way for me to know anything, but a lot of me suspends disbelief and actually think Asians just have better genetics in being able to handle lots of training volume. Even in other sports I've trained in, Asians excel and can handle a lot of volume of work. There's also the fact even historically, Japanese and Korean lifters did well, back to the 1940s and 1950s, before steroids were a big factor.

If not, I'm curious what else he could've done or said that would have either cleared him, or at least not raise any more suspicion.
