Great to follow this build - you take the time to explain what task you're doing and then just get on with doing it. Onwards - making steady progress one weld at a time! 👍👍
Thank you 🙏🏼 ! I’m glad you’re enjoying the build and also the videos. It’s been great building this little car and the peoples response has been amazing.
Excellent idea of plasma cutting the rust off behind the rear wheels. A man could take the time and weld some 3/8 round stock at the edge of the cut to 💪 the lower part of the car. The stock would be cheap the labor would take time.
Wait... Somewhere I missed the floor pan sheet metal work. I've got to find it... This is great! I love watching this build. As bare-bones as it is, I'm completely fascinated with it. I'm glad that I stumbled upon it. Thanks again, for your time, Sir!
Great! Some Hot Rod cotton candy going on here. Short and sweet. I'm addicted to the flow. I have a kit car project that I need to get to, so spending an hour to an hour and a half watching someone saw an English wheel forever doesn't really do it for me. No knock on those guys, this is just a better fit for my limited head space. Rock on Mike!
Water heater strapping from home depot or one of those stores might work. it's 1 1/4 inch wide. Here in California it's required to keep your water heater from falling over in a bad earthquake. Lefty
Your gas tanks mounts are great that's what anyone would have done to set up in the back to take weight once the tank is filled with gas.👍🏽 Taking pride in your work I notice when your welding to make shire everything is secure so it's not a death trap.
One of my subscribers told me to check out your channel. Said we both built cool stuff. Glad I did and found you. Maybe we can trade shop T-shirts and do something together one day.
Ahh yep. 😐👍🏼. She does. Haha. Just mixing it up and having fun w the process. I watch other TH-camrs and we all use the same instrumental tunes. I like trying other things. 😎✅
@@ThisOldHotrod just razzin ya. i don't mind it fwiw... just not typical "hot rod" stuff. you're right... a lot of you guys use the same stuff sometimes.
@@Ecosse57 it’s so hard to find good tunes on the non royalty sites. There’s only a few sites to chose from and I’m going outside the box. 😐👍🏼💪🏼. Razz away 👊🏼😎
Haha. Ya. Short video. I’m trying to keep the pace up of the videos moving forwards. Helps keep people’s attention I think. 😎👍🏼. Don’t blink … you’ll miss something “important”. Haha

I’m trying to think ahead and how to benefit the next guy. Trying not to go backwards at the same time.
Settled in right where it needs to be - good work Mike!
It’s coming out good. Haha. You guys are gonna dig this little hotrod.
I am ! 😎👍🏼

Nice quick project to check off the list. Looking forward to more. Thanks
Thanks Paul 👍🏼👍🏼.
Nice clean mounts Mike
Thanks John
Big gear clamps might hold that tank on to the mounts nicely. Looking real cool Mike!
Ya maybe. I’ve got some straps for it, that’ll go with the car.

Thank you. I’ll look into that as an option
This gas tank mount is a "stand out" !
Thanks. I appreciate that.
Sweet mount. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks man. Thanks for sticking it out and commenting on the videos. It’s greatly appreciated.
Excellent!! Simple and perfect
Those mounts would have taken me several hours. Great work comes from experience and practice. That car is moving along at an incredible rate
Thank you 🙏🏼
Good job on those mounts simple but strong
A slight tilt forward on a gas tank actually is best for getting that last drop out of the tank. 'Speshly if the pickup tube is in the front.
I understand that. It still will have a slight lean forwards. The petcock is on the bottom though. So I may lean it to that side also
@@ThisOldHotrod You are doing great. I wish I lived nearby as I would love to own that car.
Great job Mike you’re doing a great job it will make someone a great ride keep up the great work

Looks great! What kind of tank is that?
Tank is from a boat. I guess they’re pretty common.
What are your thoughts on wooden gas tank mount like what you just made out of steel?
Oh idk. You do whatever you have to do. I make things out of metal because I can. 👍🏼
@@ThisOldHotrod doing great on the car! This let's me know that anything is possible with what's available in my budget! Lol
Like I said my car is complete. I've got a 327 and a Muncie and a 9-inch Ford rear end
Okay 😁👍🏼
